Hollyoaks has cast its latest villainous villager, with former Emmerdale actor Tony Mooney set to join the Channel 4 soap to wreak havoc.

Mooney, who has also appeared in the likes of Coronation Street and Scott and Bailey, is tipped to make his debut in the village as early as next week.

According to The Sun, Tony's character Les the Embalmer ? yes, really ? is an associate of gangster Norma Crow, played by former EastEnders star Glynis Barber.

Although Tony's Les the Embalmer won't be a permanent resident of 'Oaks, fans can still expect the newcomer to play a significant role in the tangled criminal underworld headed by Norma.

Glynis Barber joined Hollyoaks as Norma earlier this year, arriving in the village at the wheel of a hearse demanding to know who's been stealing her money.

In scenes set to air next week, Norma turns her attention to Warren Fox and questions whether he has what it takes to betray Sienna Blake.

After finding a burner phone with incriminating messages, Warren decides to put a hit out on Sienna. His plans are thwarted, however, when Ste Hay unintentionally saves her by realising that the tea she's making has been drugged.

Sienna decides to keep her nemesis close and plays happy families with Warren as they go for a family picnic. Meanwhile, Liberty Savage warns Sienna to be careful of Warren and confronts her about drugging Damon Kinsella.

Meanwhile, Senna is put in the sights of Norma's hitman Les after she sends a picture, though when Sienna unexpectedly goes off grid, he sets his sights on Liberty by mistake...

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
