Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away have brought Ryan Johnson back for a new upcoming role on the soap.

Johnson, who has recently starred in Australian medical drama Doctor Doctor, has appeared previously on the show before in a short appearance as Paolo Rosetta.

He will be returning as Peter King and featuring in Mackenzie Booth's storyline as she struggles to save her restaurant from financial crisis.

As Mac's financial situation at her restaurant Salt continue to get worse she turns to hosting illegal casino nights in order to save her business.

In a trailer (above) for upcoming episodes airing in Australia, Mac is seen taking more risks by hosting the gambling nights, telling others the events are her only way out.

While further details regarding Johnson's role are yet to be revealed, it can be assumed he will be somewhat involved with the casino nights at Salt as he is seen in the trailer telling Mackenzie to "name her price".

Emily Weir, who plays Mac on the soap, recently opened up about her character's reckless decisions, saying it "absolutely makes her feel like she is nearing to hitting rock bottom again".

Regarding her decision to host the illegal gambling nights, Weir added: "Initially it's definitely not in Mackenzie's mind. But as the idea develops and the stress of the huge debt weighs on Mackenzie, she sees it as an idea that might be a doable solution."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

    Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away has teased more about Ryan Johnson's mystery character in its new Australian trailer.

Johnson, who has recently starred in Australian medical drama Doctor Doctor, had guested previously on the show in a small role as Paolo Rosetta.

We already know that Ryan will make his return to the soap as Peter King, who will play a prominent role in Mackenzie Booth's storyline as she struggles to save her restaurant from financial crisis.

As Mac's financial situation at Salt continues to get worse, she turns to hosting illegal casino nights in order to save her business.

Previous trailers have shown that Mac will be hosting the risky gambling nights, feeling they are her only way out of her money worries.

In the new trailer, Ryan's character Peter is seen telling Mac: "There are no skeletons in my closet," before making her an offer of an exclusive poker night.

Mac is then seen telling Felicity Newman that Peter has offered her an incredible opportunity: "One more night, then we can go back to our lives."

But Felicity has big doubts about Peter, as she tells Mac: "There's something odd about him" as the clip ends teasing 'big regrets?' Before Peter tells Mac: "Name your price."

Meanwhile Emily Weir, who plays Mac, revealed that her character's storyline will have a far-ranging affect on Summer Bay.

"The storyline is super exciting," Emily said. "It's got so many different levels dramatically and it really is something that eventually takes over the entire Bay.

"Everyone becomes affected by this illegal gambling storyline, like it really spreads out and into a lot of other people's storylines."

Home and Away star Ryan Johnson reveals why he's embracing villainous PK role
    "I think he's a bit of a sociopath."

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...llainous-role/

    Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away star Ryan Johnson is embracing his villainous role in Summer Bay.

After playing 'good guy' Matt Knight for five years on Aussie medical drama Doctor Doctor, Johnson has been able to sink his teeth into playing a different type of character on Home and Away.

His character Peter 'PK' King is heavily involved in Mackenzie Booth's struggle to save her restaurant from financial crisis by hosting illegal gambling nights.

"I think he's a bit of a sociopath," the actor told Stuff.

He added: "He sees an opportunity to come in and cause some chaos and that's the thrill of it for him. These people are like playthings to him and I think he just goes from place to place and screws people over."

Johnson also discussed fan theories that his character is actually an undercover policeman looking to bust illegal gambling rings. "I'm enjoying the speculation but I can neither confirm nor deny that," he said.

His role as Peter King is not the first time Johnson has appeared on Home and Away.

He previously played Paolo Rosetta in a brief appearance over 10 years ago. "I have a history of playing repeated characters. I did two characters on Rake and two characters on All Saints. This is my second character on Home and Away and it is a lot of fun," he said.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Booth star Emily Weir has described the storyline as 'super exciting'.

"It's got so many different levels dramatically and it really is something that eventually takes over the entire Bay," she said.

Body on the beach: Who killed PK on Home and Away? All the potential suspects revealed
Nerves are reaching an all-time high.

    https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...illed-pk-73344

In this week's Home and Away episode, the peaceful sand of Summer Bay is turned into a crime scene when Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin (James Stewart) discover the body of PK (Ryan Johnson) on the beach.

Policewoman Rose (Kirsty Marillier) arrives to assess the body, noting signs of violence, while the coroner deduces the time of death was days earlier.

Fellow cop Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) rules the death suspicious and opens up a murder investigation. But who is the killer?

TV WEEK takes a look at the possible suspects.

    Mackenzie

If there was anyone in town hellbent on getting revenge, it's Mac (Emily Weir). The owner of Salt was recently hustled by PK who manipulated her into debt, before trying to seduce her.

When she rejected him, PK sent two armed men to ransack Salt. The commotion put Tane (Ethan Browne) in harm's way and he was stabbed.

Mac has lost everything; money, business, friends and even her boyfriend. It's enough to drive anyone mad.

"Lives are on the line, people's wellbeing, their freedom and their future all rest in what happens next," Emily, 30, tells TV WEEK. "Mackenzie feels responsible for all of it."

    Dean

To protect his sister Mac and son Jai (River Jarvis), Dean (Patrick O'Connor) recruited the River Boys to send a message.

They kidnapped PK and brought him, bound and gagged in the trunk boot of a car, to the mercy of Dean in an abandoned car park.

Viewers later saw Dean washing blood off his hands. Is he capable of murder?

    Nathan

Stuck between two worlds and in debt to PK, Nathan (Ryan Panizza) became the fall guy for PK's schemes.

At his boss' command, he orchestrated the robbery at Salt but tried to stop it from happening, pleading with PK to end the vendetta against Mac. Backed into a corner, this may have been his only way out.

    Felicity

She may be a policeman's sister but Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) plays by her own rules.

Burdened by guilt for her hand in the illegal poker nights and scared of losing her boyfriend Tane, Felicity tried to play PK at his own game.

Just how far did she go?

Home and Away airs Monday to Thursday, 7pm, Channel Seven.
