Stacey Slater asks ex-husband Martin Fowler for support in telling daughter Lily about what happened to Jean Slater in Southend. However, Martin is hesitant.

Jean's new partner Harvey Monroe tells Kat Slater his regret about what happened with Jean, until a panicked Stacey tells them that her car won't start. Harvey drives her to the hospital and decides to go inside with her after seeing how nervous she is.

Meanwhile, Martin seeks advice from Zack Hudson on whether he and Stacey should tell Lily about what happened. With Zack's reassuring words, Martin starts to think that it is the right thing to do after all.

However, when Stacey returns, she sends Lily off and tells Martin that she's changed her mind and wants to protect Lily. The pair start to argue and Lily overhears.

Dotty Cotton is less than impressed when Bernie Taylor takes her to chess club. It turns out that Dotty is better at chess than Bernie thought and wins some money with her chess skills.

She decides to take Bernie to The Queen Vic to celebrate her winnings and soon sees Bernie talking to Gareth from chess club. Dotty is annoyed when Bernie doesn't tell her what they spoke about, but she soon admits the truth.

After meddling with Linda and Mick Carter's marriage, it seems that Janine Butcher and Mick's romance has started to fall short, after Janine wakes up without Mick by her side.

Knowing that Mick has been avoiding her, a worried Janine decides to tell Billy Mitchell about her intimacy issues with Mick.

Things get even more awkward when Janine attempts to confront Mick about their lack of time alone and he avoids the subject.

However, Mitch Baker overhears the conversation and Mick makes a shock admission to his friend.

Will Mick tell Janine the truth?

    Tuesday 3rd May

Mick Carter goes for a run to avoid his new partner Janine Butcher and bumps into Mitch Baker who doesn't know what to say after Mick's shock confession yesterday.

It's Billy Mitchell's birthday and Janine gives him a present. However, the birthday spirit soon burns out when Billy tells Janine that Mick once had a fling with Whitney Dean.

Soon enough, Janine is on the warpath and warns Whitney away from Mick.

Meanwhile, Karen Taylor has an honest chat with Harvey Monroe about his partner Jean Slater. Karen is left fuming and annoyed when an oblivious Mitch interrupts and tells him off, which makes him rethink the situation with Mick.

Mitch then apologises to Mick for being awkward and asks him more about his issues. Mick admits that his mind is stopping him from being intimate with Janine and Mitch attempts to offer him some helpful advice.

Janine fails to seduce Mick and she later tells Billy that if she gains custody of her daughter, Scarlett Moon at the hearing this week, she will leave Walford.

Elsewhere, Kat Slater discovers that a local football team wants to meet with her son Tommy Moon. However, she's worried that the club will find out about the knife incident and confides in Martin Fowler.

He encourages her to go to the meeting, but they are interrupted by Sam Mitchell who attempts to listen in on their conversation.

Despite the fact that Tommy is suspended from school and may not be allowed to return, Kat decides to take Martin's advice and tells Tommy about the opportunity.

In the meantime, Shirley Carter spots Lily Slater trying to steal a drink from The Queen Vic. Shirley feels sorry for her and offers to tell her the truth about her nan, Jean Slater, providing she keeps it a secret.

Lily seizes the opportunity and asks her what happened to Jean.

Stuart Highway is still hiding his painkillers from wife Rainie Highway and agrees to take baby Roland to his weigh-in. However, when he finally holds Roland, Stuart questions if he can do it.

In the caf?, Mitch offers to babysit Roland this week so that Rainie can attend a hospital appointment with Stuart.

Rainie enjoys some peace and quiet, meanwhile, Stuart arrives with Roland, claiming he forgot he has a separate physio appointment, but Rainie can tell he's lying.

Back at home, Rainie discovers Stuart's painkillers...

    Wednesday 4th May

A nosey Sam Mitchell interrupts Kat Slater and Tommy Moon's meeting with the football coach, Collin.

Martin Fowler supports Kat when she confides in him about Tommy and she opens a letter about Tommy's police case.

Janine Butcher tells Sonia Fowler and Scarlett Moon that if she gets custody of her, they will be moving to Australia.

Sonia tells Tommy Moon the news and unintentionally upsets him, but he puts on a brave face and his mind reverts back to becoming a footballer.

At The Queen Vic, Sam overhears Martin talking to Nancy Carter and Zack Hudson about the knife incident. Noticing that the coach is nearby, Sam goes out of her way to make sure that he hears the conversation and decides to loudly join in their chat.

The coach tells Kat that they can't have Tommy on the team and she's left devastated. She confronts Sam thinking that she was the culprit, but after finding out the truth, she is furious with Martin, Zack and Nancy for destroying Tommy's opportunity.

Janine tells Mick that she doesn't want his support at the hearing tomorrow and Frankie Lewis soon picks up on the tension between the couple.

She advises Mick to be more romantic and he decides to take Janine on a date. But as Janine gets ready for the date, she discovers that her clothes have shrunk in the wash and comes up with an idea...

The idea doesn't go to plan and while on their date at Walford East, Mick makes a big confession.

Bernie Taylor is upset when she finds out that Mitch Baker is planning to babysit Roland, and after a chat with Dotty Cotton she asks him not to.

Mitch accepts her plea, but when he tells Rainie Highway, she begs him to help her and to keep it a secret. A reluctant Mitch agrees, but will Bernie discover what he's up to?

    Thursday 5th May

Whitney Dean comes to celebrate Sonia Fowler's birthday but Janine Butcher takes the opportunity to ask her personal questions about Mick Carter, after previously experiencing some intimacy issues with him.

Later on, Mick is touched when Janine brings him a slice of cake for Tina Carter's birthday, who was murdered in 2020 by serial killer Gray Atkins.

After, the pair head off to her daughter Scarlett Moon's custody hearing together to see whether Janine will be granted custody.

Martin Fowler makes a blunder when he apologises to Tommy Moon about ruining his opportunity with the football club, not knowing that Kat Slater hasn't told him.

The news is too much for Tommy to bear and he disappears. Kat is panicking and with Scarlett's hearing starting, Stacey Slater's wife Eve Unwin (who was previously a solicitor before she went to prison) offers to go on Kat's behalf and she reads out a touching statement while at the court.

Janine and Scarlett's mother and daughter relationship has been very up and down since she returned to the Square, but now it seems Janine is working hard to fix things with her daughter. Will Janine manage to win custody of her daughter?

Eventually, Tommy shows up and Kat has some news about his police case. What could it be?

Meanwhile, Frankie Lewis has an unexpected encounter with an old university friend called Clara. Clara tells her about how successful she's been, which leads Frankie to lie about her own achievements.

Linda Carter overhears them at The Queen Vic and gives Frankie some advice.

In the past, a hungover Linda lashed out at Frankie and wrongly accused her of ruining her marriage with Mick. Could Linda's advice be the first step for them to repair their strained relationship?
