Next week on Holby City, a face from Jac's past has an innovative idea which could save her life, while Madge's backstory is explored and Donna is back ? with a big request.

Here's a full collection of the seven biggest moments to watch out for:

1. Essie and Arthur are back?sort of

Jac is visited by some ghosts of the past next week, as she struggles to come to terms with her tragic prognosis.

Kaye Wragg and Rob Ostlere have reprised their roles as Essie and Arthur respectively for Jac's dream sequence, a manifestation of her real-life fears about dying.

That's not all, though, as Jac is also visited by her late half-sister Jasmine before she gets a bumpy return to reality, where Fletch is sitting by her side.

2. And there's another surprise return

Another day, another Holby return. Jac's story will pick up where it left off in last night's episode, as Fletch's mysterious call recipient is revealed.

Fletch approaches a blast from the past to perform Jac?s risky surgery, and to his surprise, this left-field choice of surgeon actually agrees to help.

Fans will have to wait and see who is next up on the comeback list, but the person in question has a very unconventional idea to potentially save Jac ? and to everyone's surprise, she's all for it. But is this a risk too far?

3. Kylie confides in Jac

Having learned the truth about Madge's complex personal life, Kylie takes her concerns to Jac.

Jac?s focus on her health is diverted when Kylie tells her the truth about Madge?s injuries, and becomes determined to help her.

Kylie persuades Jac to visit Madge at home, where further truths come to light about why she betrayed Holby.

4. Madge's backstory is explained

Madge is floored when Kylie and Jac pay her a visit but begins to open up about her situation with daughter Lizzie, who has been physically harming her.

Madge explains to Jac and Kylie that Lizzie has learning difficulties, with high support needs, and insists that, despite her injuries, she's not in any real danger.

This leaves Jac, who remembers meeting Lizzie as a child, even more determined to help Madge, especially when she makes a further discovery about what's been going on behind the scenes.

5. Jeong faces a setback

Jeong?s chances of competing in the Junior Doctor competition are scuppered by a sprained wrist.

Feeling frustrated, Jeong finds solace in a patient who believes she can help him. But when the patient suddenly collapses and needs urgent help, will Jeong be able to rise to the occasion ? despite his injury?

6. Donna is back

Donna is back again next week, and this time, it's where she belongs ? at Holby.

After saving the day with Jeong's patient, Donna approaches Dom and admits that she is actually deeply unhappy in her job, and wants to come 'home'.

Dom is initially dismissive of Donna's sudden U-turn, but will he work his magic to bring her back?

7. Jac supports Madge

As Madge continues to open up, she explains to Jac and Kylie that she's been struggling to get the appropriate support for Lizzie; a situation that has only intensified since the local authorities upped the financial contributions they need to make.

Madge explains that, because of this, they simply can't afford to get Lizzie the help she needs anymore ? which was why she agreed to Regina's lucrative offer in the first place.

Desperate to support her friend, Jac initially offers financial support ? which is declined ? before vowing to get Madge her job at Holby back. But will Hanssen agree?

8. Nicky makes a touching gesture

Nicky clears the air with Eli in the wake of recent events regarding Juliet, and thanks him and Amelia for their ongoing support.

As Nicky explains that she's turned a real corner with Juliet, she tells Eli that she has decided to have a big family Christening ? and wants him and Amelia to be godparents.

9. Sacha and Fletch clash

As Jac prepares for her game-changing surgery ? the only solution to saving her life ? Sacha is torn over the sudden new treatment plan.

Reminded of his own grief for Essie, an emotional Sacha accuses Fletch of depriving Jac's loved ones of an opportunity to spend her final days with her, and doesn't believe this risky operation is the appropriate way forward.

It's clear Fletch is deeply impacted by Sacha's poignant words, but will it make any difference to Jac's final decision?

Holby City airs these scenes on Tuesday, March 15 at 7.50pm on BBC One.
