SPOILER ALERT!
The spoilers appear to suggest that, but there is strong speculation around that Ryder doesn't die here but he will be leaving SB a little further down the track (perhaps in May at Aust pace?). This speculation started late last year when Georgie Parker posted on-set photos on instagram of what potentially could be a farewell party for Ryder in Summer Bay House, with the room full of balloons & a banner saying 'Bon Voyage'. She also posted another on-set photo of her embracing Lucas/Ryder. So Ryder may finally be off travelling - we will see.

Trapped underground in the darkness, Ryder's breath become ragged.

He has been lying inside a coffin, buried beneath the soil for hours and his calls to Theo have gone unanswered.

Unbeknown to him, Theo has fallen down a ravine on his way back to pull Ryder out from the grave. The only person who can help is now unconscious, and time is running out!

Will their foolish prank become Ryder's last moments?

In the terrifying season return of Home and Away, Ryder (Lukas Radovich) is losing oxygen ? fast. As his phone battery dips, the teenager checks the live feed where their prank is streaming.

One viewer indicates he only has 19 minutes left before he runs out of air. Ryder laughs it off, not wanting to show his fear, but panic has set in.

"He realises when Theo stops answering the phone that it's no longer a joke and he's in serious trouble," Lukas, 27, tells TV WEEK.

Nearby, Theo (Matt Evans) wakes to find his leg trapped in barbed wire and his phone out of reach. He can't communicate to Ryder what's happened and his leg is in searing pain. No one knows their whereabouts and night has begun to descend upon them.

The prank, while dangerous, was a desperate avenue for Ryder to repay his family. Alf (Ray Meagher) and Roo (Georgie Parker) lent him money to build hi catering business, and when it failed, he vowed to pay them back. Now, it could cost him his life.

"After losing the food truck with no insurance, he has a strong sense of duty and responsibility and believes this is the only way to make enough money to pay everyone back," Lukas explains.

Back in Summer Bay, Alf and Justin (James Stewart) cross paths and ask each other the same question: "Have you seen Ryder and Theo?".

Surprised to hear that neither of them has come home, alarm bells ring.

Justin quickly finds Roo to check if she knows their whereabouts but she confirms his fears: they're missing.

Justin pulls up their video channel and finds the burial challenge. Roo recognises the area and the pair race to find them.

But it could all be too late. In the coffin, Ryder's phone slips from his hand and he loses consciousness.

Behind the wheel of the driver's seat, Mia panics. She's sped away from police as she attempts to conceal the dead body in the boot of the car. Behind her, sirens blare and lights flash. Multiple cars are closing in and so is her freedom? is this the end of the road for Mia?

In the heart-stopping series return of Home and Away, Mia (Anna Sampson) is on the run after a violent confrontation with her ex Matthew (James Sweeny), resulted is his untimely death.

The accident occurred after Chloe (Sam Barrett) learnt she is the product of her father's past assault on her mother ? and told him to stay away. But Matthew didn't give up easily and took his aggression out on Mia. Chloe leapt to her mother's defence and struck Matthew across the head with a brick. He died instantly.

Now, Mia is desperate to keep her daughter safe.

"Sheer panic takes over Mia," Anna tells TV WEEK. "She had no plan other than to protect her daughter."

In the car, Mia succumbs to police and pulls over. As local policeman Cash approaches, she wipes the her blood-stained sweater ? but it's too late. Cash, stunned to find Mia in the driver's seat, inspects the car and finds the body.

"She's frozen. Mia has run out of option," Anna says "There was no plan in her thinking, just to get as far away as she could.".

Back home, Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) is consoling a traumatised Chloe when he gets a call from Cash: Mia has been arrested under suspicion of murder. He races to the station and pleads to speak with his fianc?e.

Cash knows it's against the rules, but relents when he sees the look on Ari's face ? there's clearly more to the story than cold-blooded murder?

Mia and Ari share a tight embrace. Ari vows to set the record straight. He won't allow Mia or Chloe to go to jail for this. It was self-defence! Mia wipes away tears, knowing she'll sacrifice herself to keep Chloe out of jail. Her fate is all but sealed.

The situation is all the more heartbreaking in the wake of Ari and Mia's engagement. The pair are planning to tie the knot and start a new life together with Chloe. Now, the future is bleak.

"Ari is fiercely protective and will always try to help, but Mia has to protect Chloe," Anna says of her character's future..

As Mia waits to be formally charged, Ari comes up with a bold plan that could save the woman he loves ? but doing so will upend everything he holds dear.

"Ari sometimes acts first and thinks later," Rob says. "He'll do anything to keep his family safe."

What is his daring plan? And will it work?
