That is what Digital Spy is reporting, as confirmed by Ch5, ie that from Jan 3 the UK will have 5 episodes a week & Aust still 4, meaning that Aust will fall behind (see the article below posted in a separate thread). However, nothing has actually been mentioned or reported in Aust as yet, so we will have to wait & see, but that looks to be the case (at least for a while...)

Neighbours episodes to premiere in UK ahead of Australia in 2022
Australia is sticking with four episodes a week.

9 huge Neighbours spoilers for 2022
    What's next on Ramsay Street?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...y-levi-terese/

Neighbours may be off our screens until the new year, but excitement is building for what's ahead in 2022 when the Ramsay Street soap returns for a new season.

In recent weeks, show bosses have been providing plenty of hints for the future, including new casting announcements and the release of a spoilerific new trailer.

Here are nine of the biggest highlights that we can look out for in the New Year.

    1. Harlow faces a backlash

Neighbours' season finale ended on a major cliffhanger, with Terese hanging perilously from the Lassiters roof. While we'll have to wait a little bit longer to see exactly what happens to Terese, it seems that Harlow will have some difficult questions to answer in the aftermath.

The show's new trailer for 2022 sees Paul angrily accuse Harlow of abandoning a drunken Terese when she needed her the most. Unimpressed with Harlow's fixation on a private investigator's report on Glen, Paul asks: "Terese fell because you left her alone, and you're worried about some file?"

Harlow's cold behaviour has become a cause for concern recently, but could this incident be the wake-up call she needed or will her behaviour get even worse?

    2. Zara arrives

Neighbours bosses have confirmed the arrival of Amy Greenwood's daughter Zara Selwyn, who'll be played by Freya Van Dyke. Zara has been mentioned a few times since Amy returned to Erinsborough, but now we'll finally get to see the mother-daughter duo in action.

A picture that Freya posted on Instagram shows Zara in an Erinsborough High uniform, hinting that she might be around for a while.

Meanwhile, Neighbours' 2022 promo shows Zara make a memorable entrance, walking in on Amy while she's in bed with boyfriends Levi and Ned. What will she make of her mum's polyamorous relationship?

    3. Levi, Amy and Ned face difficult decisions

Amy has made no secret of the fact that she hasn't always been the best mum to Zara. The latest trailer shows Amy deciding that she needs to prioritise her daughter for a while following Zara's arrival in Erinsborough.

This could be bad news for Levi and Ned. A voice-over from one scene even shows Levi suggesting to Amy that they should break up, but it's unclear whether this is related to Zara's arrival or not.

    4. Kyle and Roxy's wedding

Kyle and Roxy's wedding is due to take place in the early weeks of the year. The couple will be determined to enjoy their special day after the recent challenges they've faced following Kyle's cancer diagnosis.

Mick is also seen playing a role in the romantic storyline when he becomes a wedding planner for the couple.

    5. A shock storm

Neighbours' first big stunt of the year will see a deadly storm hit Erinsborough on a significant day for some of the local residents.

Brief glimpses from the storyline in Neighbours' new trailer warn of "gale force winds", while a telegraph pole is also seen falling over in a particularly climactic moment.

Could the terrible weather lead to tragedy for the residents of Ramsay Street?

    6. A mystery death

Neighbours' cast and crew went on location to film a funeral a few weeks ago, but the identity of the deceased character is currently being kept under wraps.

After weeks of rumours and speculation on social media, Neighbours gave fans their first official glimpse of the storyline in the show's new trailer ? although it doesn't give us too many clues over who lives, who dies and how this unknown character will be written out.

    7. Freya arrives

Phoebe Roberts has joined the cast of Neighbours as newcomer Freya Wozniak, who's the first new regular for the soap since Nicolette Stone arrived in 2020.

A recent press release from Neighbours described Freya as "the ultimate mystery girl", who keeps her cards close to her chest when she arrives in Erinsborough in the new year. Viewers will quickly discover that she isn't afraid to bend the rules.

In Neighbours' 2022 trailer, Freya is already seen at the centre of a dramatic storyline. New footage shows her clutching a knife while in obvious distress, saying: "I thought someone was attacking me." What's her story?

    8. Neighbours in London

Neighbours returned to London in October to film a special storyline for Harlow Robinson.

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was cast in the role of Harlow's aunt Harriet, who's the sister of the late Prue Wallace.

Harlow and Harriet will reunite to solve a mystery relating to Prue. Some fans are already suspecting that this could relate to The Order ? the sinister cult that Prue was part of.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor also makes a special cameo appearance in the London scenes, which air in March.

    9. More on-location filming

Neighbours scenes have often been restricted to Ramsay Street and the show's other familiar studio and backlot locations over the past couple of years, but fans can expect that to change in the New Year.

Filming crews for the show have been working out on location on a regular basis over the past couple of months, meaning that we'll see our favourite characters making trips to familiar locations in Melbourne more often. Let's hope takings at The Waterhole and Harold's don't drop if everyone is busy elsewhere.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

So it's Paul to the rescue (see pictures in the link)...

Neighbours reveals tense aftermath of Terese's big cliffhanger
    What's wrong with Harlow?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ermath-harlow/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours will see Terese Willis saved by Paul Robinson when the show returns in January.

The 2021 season finale saw Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) barely clinging onto the edge of the Lassiters rooftop, following a clash with Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) over private investigator John Wong's report on Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett).

In upcoming scenes, Paul (Stefan Dennis) enters the hotel and rushes to the rooftop, where he manages to pull Terese back up and save her life.

In the aftermath, much is made of Harlow's concerning lack of reaction to the dramatic incident.

Harlow does not seem to be bothered at all by what happened, and Paul angrily berates her for worrying more about the PI report than helping Terese.

More people than ever take notice of Harlow's uncharacteristic change in behaviour, and Roxy Willis' (Zima Anderson) theory that she's turning into her killer father Robert is brought up once again.

But David has a different theory about what Harlow is going through, and looks to have a conversation with her about it...

Also in the first week of January, Amy Greenwood is shocked to see the arrival of her daughter Zara Selwyn, played by Freya Van Dyke, in Erinsborough.

A previous trailer promoting episodes airing in early 2022 show Zara walking in on Amy in bed with her boyfriends Levi Canning and Ned Willis.

Phoebe Roberts is also joining the cast as Freya Wozniak, described as the "ultimate mystery girl". The promo shows Freya having scenes with Levi as a potential new love interest.

Roxy's mother Gemma Ramsay, played by Beth Buchanan, is also making an appearance in 2022.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, January 3 at 2.30pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
