Neighbours confirms character death in Australian promo for 2022
    But who dies?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...022-confirmed/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours has confirmed a character death will be happening in early 2022.

Following the airing of the 2021 season finale in Australia today (December 9), the show revealed a first-look promo on 10 Peach for next year's episodes.

The trailer did not spoil the identity of the person meeting their demise, but teased "tragedy" as Erinsborough is hit by a horrific storm that puts many of the residents in danger.

We don't know if it's the storm that causes the character death, but the end of the promo features the ominous words "Someone will die", followed by glimpses of a funeral attended by Ramsay Street residents.

So who could be killed off?

Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) could be one candidate, considering the 2021 cliffhanger. She was barely holding onto the edge of the Lassiters roof, and the trailer gave a first look at the aftermath of that moment.

We see Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) directing his anger at Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) for not doing enough to help her.

Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and he's seen in the promo getting ready for his wedding to Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson).

If it's not Terese or Kyle, then it might be someone a little unexpected...

The trailer also revealed that Amy Greenwood's (Jacinta Stapleton) daughter Zara arrives in Erinsborough.

She couldn't pick a more awkward time to reunite with her mother ? walking in on Amy in bed with her boyfriends Levi Canning (Richie Morris) and Ned Willis (Ben Hall).

Zara's arrival appears to spell the end for the polyamorous relationship, as Amy wants to put her daughter first.

"Right now, it just needs to be Zara and me," she says.

It won't be long before Levi gets a new love interest, as he begins hanging out with new regular character Freya Wozniak, played by Phoebe Roberts.

The soap previously teased that Freya would be "the ultimate mystery girl" who is "not afraid to bend the rules" ? and one shot in the trailer sees a panicked Freya clutching a knife.

Elsewhere, there's a brief look at Harlow's London storyline, which features Amanda Holden and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett) appears desperate to keep his secret hidden after learning Harlow had been trying to dig up dirt on him.

The 2021 season finale airs in the UK tomorrow, but from January 2022, the UK will be ahead of Australia as 10 Peach looks to continue its schedule of four episodes a week.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours' season finale is a major throwback to 30 years ago ? but did you spot it?
Terese's ordeal looked a little familiar.

    And:

7 huge Neighbours questions for 2022 after the season finale
    What's next on Ramsay Street?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...uestions-2022/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

That's it for our regular trips to Ramsay Street for 2021 as Neighbours has now gone on its Christmas break ? and it sure picked a dramatic way to go out.

In true soap form, we still have many stories up in the air that will need resolving when the show returns on January 3 ? not least what the fate of Terese will be.

We've taken a look at some of the biggest questions left hanging now the show is on a break ? 2022 sure does look set to be an interesting year for Neighbours.

    1. Will Terese survive?

Let's start with the biggie. Terese ended 2021 in dire straits after drunkenly falling from the Lassiters roof ? barely clinging on as the credits rolled. But will she be able to pull herself up before losing her grip?

Both Paul and Glen are on their way to help, but they are quite the distance and, judging from the promo, it sounds like Harlow had already left the scene before it went disastrously wrong. We do know that a funeral has been shot for 2022, let's just hope Terese is not in the coffin?

    2. Will it be peace at last in Number 32?

To say things have been tense in Number 32 would be the understatement of the year, but despite reservations, everyone came together for Christmas under one roof.

Other than some drama with Terese, it all seemed to be going well and it could be that 2022 will see everyone finally on the same page about raising baby Isla. But then this is Neighbours and Nicolette is involved, so we won't count our chickens on that front just yet?

    3. Will Harlow's friends get through to her?

Viewers have been aware that Harlow is not behaving like herself for a while, but her friends finally clocked onto it in the closing episodes of 2021.

After learning that she has been spending more time with her Bishop-family-murdering father, they begin to worry that she is starting to show similar traits to him. Will 2022 see Harlow put back on the right path, or could we have the next Killer Robinson on our hands?

    4. Are wedding bells going to chime for Kyle and Roxy?

Following the health problems that Kyle has had and the change that has meant for him going forward, he needed some good news and Roxy was on hand to propose.

In typical soap fashion, we do not have long to wait until they walk down the aisle, but will they get to say "I do", or will this be another Neighbours wedding that is set to end in tragedy? We do hear that a storm may be brewing for the big day?

    5. Is Glen going to accept Paul?

A 30-year build-up of hate and resentment was never going to go away easily, and Glen has made it clear to his brother Paul that he is in no mood to try and play happy families with their history.

But Glen is sticking around for a few months at least, so we can't imagine that there won't at least be some thawing in the relationship. The question is whether Glen can let go of his anger ? and whether he can keep his growing feelings for Terese under control.

    6. What will happen with Amy's love life?

Amy, Ned and Levi's polyamorous relationship has been a big focus in the final months of this year, but things have been getting quite tense between them all as 2021 ended.

Will Amy be once again forced to choose between her two men, or will the three of them find a way to go the distance? Either way, a blast from Amy's past is on the way as her daughter Zara arrives next year and that could end up complicating things even further?

    7. Will Paul and Terese reunite?

Assuming Terese does not mean a grisly end on the ground of the Lassiters complex, will there be a reunion between her and Paul?

Their last counselling session was a disaster that only made things worse, and Glen being on the scene is muddying the water even further.

Is this really the end for the couple, or will they be able to, against the odds, find a way to get back on track in 2022?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
