Charlie Fairhead and Tess Bateman must put aside their differences to save pregnant Nurse Rosie Kemper and her unborn baby this week after Rosie was supposed over a balcony by her mentally ill mum Laura Merriman.

Laura abused Rosie during her childhood and after spending 14 years in prison she turned up at the ED on her release and attacked Rosie....

This week Charlie and Tess battle to save unconscious Rosie and deliver her premature daughter by C-section.

Unaware that Laura is dangerous, she's present as they treat Rosie. Yet alarm bells to ring when Laura becomes a unnervingly possessive of the baby, names her Holly and shows no concern for Rosie. By the time Tess and Charlie discover Laura's past she's snatched Holly. Tess orders a hospital lockdown and despite Charlie?s prickliness the pair team up to search for Laura.

When they find her she?s holding a scalpel and threatens to kill her infant granddaughter. So in a desperate attempt to connect with Laura, Tess open up about her life since leaving Holby in 2015.
