Neighbours episodes to premiere in UK ahead of Australia in 2022

Neighbours will be airing episodes in the UK before Australia starting from January 2022.
The Channel 5 broadcast of the Ramsay Street soap was four weeks behind 10 Peach's schedule earlier this year, but it gradually caught up when 10 Peach cut the number of weekly episodes to four.
Episodes in the UK and Australia sync up next month, as both networks will air the same final episode of the year just one day apart. But Channel 5 confirmed to Digital Spy that 10 Peach will stick with its weekly schedule of four episodes at the start of 2022 ? resulting in Australia falling behind.
The show returns from its Christmas break on January 3 in both the UK and Australia with the same episode.
This means that Channel 5 will be ahead beginning on Friday, January 7.
Channel 5 declined to give any comment beyond confirming the schedule in the new year. There is no comment from 10 Peach.
n 2016, the UK did pull ahead of Australia ? for one day. A dramatic hour-long 10pm special featuring the death of Josh Willis was shown on Channel 5 on a Monday night, with Australia catching up on the Tuesday.
In 2020, Channel 5 initially fell behind in the spring when it made the decision to cut the number of weekly episodes down to two as there was uncertainty over how COVID-19 might affect filming. The UK channel fell a further week behind after taking an additional week off last Christmas.
In July 2021, 10 Peach replaced its usual Friday episode with repeats of Friends. Australian viewers can expect to continue watching the soap Mondays to Thursdays for the time being.
