Coronation Street is set to once again put a real-life shop on its famous cobbles.

The previous additions of Costa Coffee and Co-op made headlines when they were first introduced, and the soap is now pressing on with another product placement deal ?this time with EE.

So if Dev Alahan or Sally Metcalfe fancy switching their mobile phone networks, they'll be able to visit Corrie's new EE store soon enough.

Alongside this announcement, ITV's director of commercial sales and partnerships Mark Trinder shared: "The shopfronts in Coronation Street are the pinnacle of product placement on British TV and I'm thrilled to have EE's newest retail store on the cobbles.

"While we can't see the full shopfront on-screen just yet, the team are working hard to build it for the 'opening' later this year."

EE's marketing communications director Pete Jeavons also went on to say: "Our retail stores are recognisable on high streets and in communities across the country, offering personal, local service and the best possible customer experience. In fact, 95% of the population is within a 20-minute drive of an EE store.

"So, it's with great pleasure that we announce our latest store opening, this time at the heart of one of the most iconic communities on TV ? Coronation Street."

Weatherfield's new EE store will replace Costa, as the coffee chain's Corrie partnership has come to an end.

Eagle-eyed TV lovers may recall an EE advert starring Kevin Bacon back in 2011, which featured the Hollywood veteran name-checking the Rovers Return and Ken Barlow.
