It was a gripping 2023 season finale in Home and Away, with countless questions unanswered, Summer Bay fans are anxious to know when the 2024 season will air.

In a feature length 2023 finale, Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) is on the desperate hunt for his missing girlfriend, Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo).

In what was supposed to be a romantic camping trip at the stunning Crystal Gorge, quickly went array. Eden, snuck into the bush in a midnight trip to the bathroom, when she stumbled upon two met digging a hole.

Knocked unconscious, Eden awoke in the boot of an unknown car and face-to-face with the lifeless body of her best friend, Remi (Adam Rowland).

During the camping trip, Eden called Remi demanding he come and collect her from the nightmarish camping trip. Speeding down the road on his motorcycle, Remi was caught in a car accident ? where two men were behind the wheel.

Now, Eden is confronted with the end as she overhears the men plotting to "get rid" of her. Meanwhile Cash has called in the SES and his sister Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) to scour the remote bushland.

Where is Eden being taken? Will she survive? Will Cash track her down before it's too late?

But more importantly, is Remi really dead?

According to Back to the Bay, Adam Rowland was spotted filming scenes at Sydney's Palm Beach alongside Stephanie Panozzo and Emily Weir. Therefore, Remi may have survived the horrific crash.

Home and Away fans have nothing but questions, and there is more than a month before the season finale and 2024 premiere to ponder the answers.

Home and Away will return to Channel Seven and 7Plus on Monday, January 8 at 7:00pm.

The Australian soap has also promised a bunch of fresh faces will be moving into Summer Bay in 2024, bringing more drama and heart-stopping moments.

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian-pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has teased a new romance for Mackenzie Booth in the soap's 2024 season trailer.

Sharing first look at upcoming storylines in a promo video on Instagram ahead of the soap's January 8 premiere in Australia, the show revealed that restaurant owner Mackenzie will grow close to Dr Levi Fowler in upcoming episodes.

In the promo clip, which sees the cast throwing a dinner party by the beach, Levi can be seen walking up to a seated Mackenzie and placing his jacket over her shoulders before sitting down.

"How are you feeling?" asks Levi, to which Mackenzie replies: "Ah, better now," before placing her hand on top of his.

The promo then cuts to a brief scene from an upcoming episode which shows Levi leaning in for a kiss at Mackenzie's house, before switching back to the dinner party.

Cardiothoracic surgeon Levi's arrival in Summer Bay had coincided with a recent storyline of Mackenzie's, which saw the Salt co-owner suffer from a heart attack.

In scenes which have already aired in Australia but will take place next year for UK viewers, Dr Levi was brought in to consult on Mackenzie's case - leading to her being diagnosed with a rare condition called Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection.

Elsewhere in the clip, which includes both promo footage and scenes from future episodes, there's a romance teased for Dana Matheson and Xander Delaney as well as a longing glance exchanged between estranged couple Tane Parata and Felicity Newman.

The promo also teased the aftermath of Remi Carter's shock motorcycle crash, which leads to the disappearance Eden Fowler.

Home and Away returns in January 2024 on Channel 5 in the UK and Channel 7 in Australia. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

Romance, even forbidden, seems to be at the height of the focus for Summer Bay residents if a new promo for Home and Away 2023 is to be believed.

After leaving fans on a massive cliff-hanger, the new promo has given life to some more spicy storylines particularly between Mackenzie (Emily Weir) and newcomer Dr Levi Fowler (Tristan Gorey).

The promo centres around the Summer Bay favourites preparing and eating a meal together in the picturesque beachside location. Amid this meal, there are various flashbacks from the 2023 season finale.

Justin (James Stewart) longingly looked at a picture of himself and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) before their relationship went awry; Bree (Juliet Goodwin) remembering her final moments with Remi (Adam Rowland) whose fate remains unknown; and an awkward encounter between Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) and Tane (Ethan Browne) whose marriage hit rocky waters.

Noticeably absent from the dinner table was Leah, Remi, Eden and Cash. The latter three were caught in a jaw dropping cliff-hanger in the 2023 season finale, with Remi and Eden's life hanging in the balance.

Fans were thrilled, however, to see Mackenzie in a romantic space with the new doctor Levi. While sitting around the table, Levi draped a jacket over Mac's shoulders and proceeded to hold her hand.

Things progressed as flashbacks showed the pair leaning in for a kiss!

"Mackenzie and dr 😍👏," one fan commented.

Another commented: "Can't wait for home and away next year Mackenzie end up with Levi."

However, prior to the Home and Away finale Mac was recovering from heart surgery following a diagnosis with Spontaneous Coronary Arty Dissection when she was found unresponsive at home.

Mac was then rushed to hospital, with Dr Levi prepping her for emergency treatment. Everyone questioned whether Mac could survive two hearts attacks, so could the potential relationship between her and Levi be a figment of her imagination?

Home and Away returns to screens on January 8, 2024, on Seven and 7Play.

Joshua Orpin will be joining H&A as the "new Summer Bay bad boy" later this year. There are no details of his character as yet, so I will start a new thread for him when more information is to hand:

He's an Australian actor better known for his work overseas than on home soil - meet Joshua Orpin, the new Summer Bay bad boy.

The 29-year-old will make his Home and Away debut over the coming months with character details under wraps for now.

"One of the reasons I was keen to do this gig was because of that, I have worked internationally and I have been quite homesick, especially over Covid where I wasn't able to come back to Australia even when I wasn't working," Orpin told The Daily Telegraph. "I was really keen to get stuck into some Aussie stuff. It isn't about being known here as the driving motivator but I really wanted to get stuck into some Aussie shows, film and TV and this came along and I thought it was the perfect opportunity."

Orpin is best known for playing Conner Kent, or Superboy, a genetic clone of Superman and Lex Luther, in juggernaut US show, Titans.

He has been based out of the US and Canada for the past few years with his other acting credits including smaller parts in Preacher, Love Me, Upright, and The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

The fast pace of Home and Away was different to anything Orpin has worked on before. While other shows shoot an episode a week or even a few weeks, the TV soap films 12 hour days, six days a week to create five half-hour episodes each week.

"I wasn't sure really what to expect," said Orpin. "It is incredibly fun, it is just an adjustment for someone who hasn't worked in this style of TV before because it is just fast and the amount of television that they produce in terms of volume and in the time frame that they do it is remarkable. Being part of that, you have to be fast, efficient and really on top of things. It certainly sharpens you up and improves your skills so I am glad for it."

He couldn't say too much about his character.

"I can say he is a bit of a bad boy who comes into the show and stirs up some trouble among the Summer Bay locals," he explained. "He is seemingly one thing on the surface but he has a great depth to him that I've had a lot of fun exploring." "
