Home and Away spoilers follow for both UK and Australian viewers.

Home and Away will introduce a new character on Australian screens this week, as the mysterious Theo arrives in town ? and he gets himself in trouble before he's even reached Summer Bay.

TV Week reports that Australian fans will get their first introduction to Theo (played by Matt Evans) this week and that he will soon reveal a connection to a current major Home and Away character.

Theo makes his dramatic entrance when he's pulled over for speeding by police officer Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright), who's busy charming his love interest Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost).

The newcomer claims that he's racing home to see his family after the death of his aunt and an irritated Cash decides to escort him home.

"Cash thinks he's just a smug kid in a nice car," Nicholas Cartwright told TV Week. "Plus, he interrupted him flirting with Jasmine. So, by the time he figures out he's lying about his excuse for speeding, it's three strikes."

When Cash shows up with Theo in tow, it is revealed that the young man has a relative in town who is very surprised to see him.

Theo admits he needs a place to stay after his father kicked him out of the house, but will his family members be happy to take him in after the trouble he's already got into in the Bay after such a short amount of time?

Theo may look familiar to Australian viewers as he's played by actor and musician Matt Evans, who was a contestant on The Voice in the country last year.

Matt hasn't spoken publicly about his role yet but he appears to be getting acquainted with his new castmates on social media, including fellow newcomer Jacqui Purvis, who plays Felicity Newman.

Home and Away airs these scenes this week in Australia on Channel 7. It airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Here is where you already know Home and Away?s new buff heartthrob Matt Evans from
''It is like getting paid to go to school.''

Home and Away has welcomed another buff hottie to their long line of handsome actors.

The latest heartthrob to secure a place on the iconic show is Perth's 25-year-old Matt Evans.

He may be new to the acting scene, but this isn't his first time on Aussie TV, as he made his name on The Voice in 2020.
He made it through to the top 20 on Delta Goodrem's team and won a slew of fans along the way.

Now, his new role on the hit soap is likely to propel the star to new heights.

Here is what we know about Matt and everything he has revealed about his new breakthrough role.

What has Matt Evans said about his role on Home and Away?

Matt spoke exclusively with The Daily Telegraph about learning on the job and why he freaked out during his first day on the Home and Away set.

"I went in there with a clean slate and I am learning so much day-by-day," he told the publication.

"It is crazy how much I've learnt. It is like getting paid to go to school. My first day in the studio, I kind of had a bit of a freak out because it's just a lot of people around and I didn't know what I was doing. I'm just trying to learn on the job."

Matt is playing Theo, who is described as a troubled guy in his 20s, but Matt believes he isn't as bad as he appears.

"He is just fun, he is act first, think later.

"He doesn't think about his choices and often gets himself into trouble because of that. He has a good heart when you get down to it," he said.

When did Matt Evans want to become an actor?

Matt studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, which is the same institution Lisa McCune, Lucy Durack and Hugh Jackman attended.

He told The Daily Telegraph that he has always been into performing and he intends on continuing to grow his singing career.

"I guess I've always been a bit of a class clown and I loved impersonations so it feels kind of natural for me to jump into a character," he said.

"I've now found acting that I really want it to be a part of my life forever. I'm never going to drop my music either because it's something I've always done so I really want to do both."

Last year, during an interview with The Mud Mag, Matt spoke about wanting to succeed in performing arts from a young age.

He told the publication, "When I was young, I always felt that my path to success was going to be different. When I found the arts, I felt special. I knew this was a journey I wanted to take."

Was Matt Evans embroiled in a cheating scandal on The Voice?

The 2020 season of The Voice was spoilt by a few alleged cheating scandals, and while Evans wasn't strictly rule breaking, it did ruffle some feathers.

The crux of the issue began when his mentor Delta Goodrem couldn't choose between him and Janie Gordon, after they faced off during their Battle round.

Delta was unable to decide so after a private discussion with the show's executive producer, she revealed Matt and Janie would be allowed to compete as a duet.

"I understand that you're both individual artists and I know you have your own lanes, but at this point, what I would like to do is to bring you forward as a duet," Delta told Matt and Janie, and she asked if they'd consider teaming up to move forward.

In the end Matt and Janie chose to stay on as a team but fans weren't impressed by the lack of rules on The Voice.

Boy George, who was a judge at the time, shared a similar sentiment when he joked, "Are there any rules on this show, ever?"

Was Matt Evans friends with any Home and Away stars before landing his role?

According to the Daily Mail, Matt struck a friendship with Mark Furze during their time on The Voice in 2020.

Mark played the troubled Ric Dalby from 2004 and 2008.

Home and Away newcomer Theo to cause trouble for Justin at the garage
Leah's nephew makes a bad impression on his first day.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...organ-trouble/

Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian and UK viewers.

Home and Away's newest arrival Theo Poulos has already made quite an impression on Summer Bay since his arrival earlier this month, having first been seen being pulled over for speeding by police officer Cash Newman.

After Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) brought Theo (Matt Evans) back to the Bay, it was revealed that Theo actually has a surprise connection in town, as he was greeted by his aunt Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou). After Theo explained that his dad ? Leah's brother ? had kicked him out of the house, Leah decided to take Theo in, in an attempt to support him.

However, Leah's partner Justin Morgan (James Stewart) has been suspicious of the newcomer and the danger that he could pose, particularly as Theo was recently beaten up by victims of a scam he was involved in before arriving in the Bay.

TV Week reports that, in scenes that will air this week in Australia, Justin will finally agree to give Theo a chance, but he may live to regret it.

With Theo now crashing at Leah's, he needs to find a new way to make a living. Justin isn't at all keen on the idea of offering Theo a position at his garage, but for Leah's sake he agrees to give her nephew a shot at working for him.

However, Theo's first day doesn't exactly go smoothly as he turns up late to the garage. After Leah brings the pair lunch, Theo claims that he suddenly has a migraine and needs to leave early, leaving Justin short of help.

"He's worried about giving Theo a job at the garage because he doesn't know if he can trust him," actor James, who plays Justin, told TV Week. "There's something suspicious about him."

Will Justin's fears over Theo's continued presence prove to be well-founded?

Newcomer Theo, who hasn't yet made his debut on UK screens, is played by actor and musician Matt Evans, who competed on Australia's The Voice last year.

Home and Away airs these scenes this week on Channel 7 in Australia and in a few weeks' time on Channel 5 in the UK.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Home and Away reveals Theo Poulos's fate after jail fears
    He faces court.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...o-poulos-fate/

Home and Away spoilers follow from Thursday's Australian episodes (February 24), which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away's Theo Poulos has been left with a criminal record after a bitter feud with Alf Stewart.

The troublemaker's latest storyline has seen him forced to face the consequences of stealing the Polaris on the beach and taking it for a joyride.

In recent episodes on air in Australia, Alf (Ray Meagher) reported Theo to the police over the incident, despite weeks passing since it happened.

Alf did so out of spite, as he blamed Theo (Matt Evans) for the more recent problem where his grandson Ryder Jackson was buried alive and left trapped underground.

In Thursday's episode on Channel 7 (February 24), Theo nervously headed to court to hear what his fate would be.

Theo later returned to the Diner and shared the news that he wouldn't be going to jail, as he had been sentenced to community service.

Despite the lucky escape, Theo was still furious with Alf for reporting him in the first place and landing him with a criminal record. He accused Alf of acting out of guilt

In a public showdown at the Diner, Theo ranted: "Everyone knows this isn't about me or the Polaris. This is about you. You weren't there for your grandson and you're looking for someone else to blame, so you blamed me.

"No chance you'd ever admit that any of this was your fault, right?"

Surprisingly, the bust-up gave Alf food for thought as he reflected on the pressure Ryder (Lukas Radovich) was under to repay his debts, which drove him to take part in the risky video challenges in the first place.

Theo was stunned when Alf later paid him a visit at the Morgan house to apologise for treating him so harshly.

Offering to put the drama behind them, Alf conceded: "You were right. I let Ryder down and I blamed you for it. I doubt that you're ready to forgive and forget, but I'm sorry for the way that I've treated you."

With peace restored, can Theo finally settle into Summer Bay life without trouble?

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in April.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Home and Away to reveal Theo Poulos secret in new storyline
    What is he hiding?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...poulos-secret/

    Home and Away spoilers follow.

Home and Away has revealed plans to explore Theo Poulos's past in an upcoming storyline.

Leah Patterson's troublesome nephew has been a divisive figure since he joined Summer Bay last year, but the soap has recently started to explore a softer side to his character.

A new promo released in Australia has now teased an unexpected new storyline for Theo, as viewers discover that there's more to his behaviour than meets the eye.

The sneak peek footage reveals that Theo will confide in John Palmer (Shane Withington) in next week's Australian episodes.

When John sees that something isn't quite right, he asks Theo who he's afraid of.

After hearing the truth, John advises: "Theo, you have to go to the police."

Theo replies: "You can't tell anyone about this."

In a later scene, Theo fears John's next move and asks: "You're going to tell Justin, aren't you? I never would have said anything if I knew you were going to blab."

Meanwhile, the trailer itself teases: "Do you know someone who's too cocky? Confident? What if it's all a cover?"

Matt Evans, who plays Theo, previously spoke about this storyline last year as he addressed the mixed reaction to his character.

He told New Zealand website Stuff in November: "There are still secrets to come out. There's more to his relationship with his father and he's trying to hide some things that have happened."

Matt continued: "There's something that he needs to sort out and, once he does, he will be a much different person."

Home and Away will air these scenes next week on Channel 7 in Australia and in April on Channel 5 in the UK.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

And it looks like we are going to see Theo's dad soon onscreen (around April at Aust pace), with it being reported that Salvatore Coco will be reprising his role of Dimitri Poulos (Theo's dad & Leah's brother), last seen in 2005 at Leah's wedding to Dan Baker.

Home and Away's Theo Poulos reveals upsetting past in heart-to-heart with John Palmer
    A big new story begins.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...psetting-past/

Home and Away spoilers follow from Tuesday's Australian episode (March 1), which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away's Theo Poulos has shared upsetting details about his past in a heart-to-heart with John Palmer.

Tuesday's episode in Australia saw Theo confide in John (Shane Withington) about the trauma he faced when he was living with his father Dimitri.

Theo has just started his community service after being charged with theft following his online video stunt with John's Polaris.

He became visibly worried when he realised that details of his punishment had been sent to his old address, meaning that his parents would see the court letter.

Theo was relieved when he made a desperate phone call to his mum, who'd already hidden the letter to avoid upsetting Dimitri.

John was curious as he overheard part of the conversation and he soon questioned Theo on why he seemed afraid.

When John continued to push for answers, Theo explained that Dimitri was abusive when they were living together.

The violence began when Theo started high school and became rebellious around the house.

Dimitri responded by punching Theo, causing him to live in fear.

Although Dimitri was never violent towards Theo's mother, she was also frightened of him and felt powerless to step in and prevent the abuse.

A horrified John advised: "Theo, you have to go to the police. What your father's doing is wrong."

Theo replied: "No. John, you can't tell anyone about this, especially not Leah. She has no idea what dad is like."

John ultimately agreed to stay out of it, but with Theo visibly struggling, it's unclear how long he'll be able to keep this promise.

Matt Evans, who plays Theo, recently hinted that this story would be a turning point for his character.

He told New Zealand website Stuff last year: "There are still secrets to come out. There's more to his relationship with his father and he's trying to hide some things that have happened.

"There's something that he needs to sort out and, once he does, he will be a much different person."

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in April.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

They should have and could have hired a better actor. He?s awful - and I?m talking about his craft, not the way his character is written.
