Neighbours star Jacinta Stapleton teases future of Amy and Zara storyline
    "Zara wants Amy to herself."

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...y-zara-future/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours star Jacinta Stapleton has spoken to Digital Spy about Zara Selwyn's arrival in Erinsborough, revealing that it was always the plan to bring in Amy Greenwood's troublesome daughter.

The show's new season has kicked off with a big new story for Amy, who was wrong-footed when Zara turned up wanting to spend time with her.

In recent days, Amy has struggled to balance her commitments as a parent to Zara alongside her polyamorous relationship with Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Levi Canning (Richie Morris).

Wednesday's episode (January 12) on Channel 5 sees Zara ask Amy to put things on pause with Ned and Levi so that she can concentrate fully on her.

Asked whether Zara's introduction was always planned when Amy returned, Jacinta told Digital Spy: "It was actually, it was always on the cards. Amy hasn't been present in her children's lives. I think Amy has probably got abandonment issues and she's repeated the process with her own children.

"Amy was off flying all the time, being a flight attendant and travelling the world. She really hasn't spent much quality time with her kids and they've been brought up by their two gay fathers.

"Amy has felt afraid of Zara not understanding the polyamorous relationship and the seriousness of it. I guess Amy has been through all that with the whole town and trying to defend it all. Now Zara has come in and she's the one person Amy wants the respect of, but that can be quite challenging for her.

"Essentially it's more about the fact that Zara wants Amy to herself. She hasn't had a woman in her life and she's 16 and she just wants the chance to bond with her.

"Zara has lived with her fathers and brothers up in Queensland for ages and she's never had that girl time. That's what she wants and she doesn't want to vie for her attention."

Jacinta added that she was thrilled when Freya Van Dyke landed the role of Zara after the audition process.

She said: "I was involved at the callback session. They had five girls from the shortlist and I got the one I wanted, so that was good. It wasn't up to me, but obviously Freya was the best one for the part.

"Everyone is wonderful and they were all very capable on the callback level but Freya just had this nice fire but also a gorgeous vulnerability.

"Freya and I just connected. I thought that she had brought a really beautiful emotional quality and real softness, even though she comes in and she's quite the whirlwind, like a wrecking ball.

"It's so funny because Freya just turned 18 and that's the age I started. There's a lot of getting in trouble in school and Amy misunderstanding her. It's really interesting to see."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours lines up life-or-death drama for Amy Greenwood
Zara feels guilty at the hospital.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...zara-accident/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours character Amy Greenwood's life is in the balance as she's rushed to hospital.

Amy (Jacinta Stapleton) ends up seriously injured during a heated confrontation with her daughter Zara Selwyn (Freya Van Dyke), and the teenager faces an anxious wait to see if her mother will survive.

In upcoming scenes on Channel 5 and 10 Peach, Amy is still recovering from the injuries that she sustained during the storm.

After learning she's out of a job as a result of the damage done to the Flamingo Bar, Amy becomes stressed and worries about how she's going to support herself and Zara financially.

While job hunting, she makes an impulsive and expensive purchase as she decides to start a new business, but shows signs of buyer's remorse.

Meanwhile, Zara begins attending Erinsborough High but she ends up frustrated when she gets into trouble with the teachers over her uniform and has a bad encounter with a couple of mean girls.

Zara becomes further frustrated when she learns about Amy's business plans, and decides to lash out by deliberately causing chaos at the school, setting off the fire alarm in front of Jane Harris (Annie Jones).

Amy is stunned to hear about the incident and is initially angry with her daughter. But she softens when she learns Zara did what she did to get Amy's attention.

Amy and Zara reconcile, but it's not long before there's another row between the pair ? this time with very serious consequences.

Storming off, Zara pushes her mother, who has not fully recovered from her recent injuries. Amy is in a huge amount of pain and falls to the ground. Amy desperately asks for help, but Zara abandons her, not believing her mother to be seriously hurt.

Amy struggles to breathe and is unable to call for help. She is eventually found by Ned Willis (Ben Hall).

After Amy is rushed to hospital, Zara and Ned are among those waiting all night at the hospital, not knowing if Amy will make it through. Zara is also wrestling with guilt, knowing that she abandoned her mother.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours' Amy Greenwood left devastated by Ned and Harlow revelation
    The truth is out.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ow-revelation/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours fans will see a happy moment for Amy Greenwood turn sour on UK screens next week.

Amy is currently going full-steam ahead with plans to showcase some of her designs at Montana Marcel's upcoming fashion show, but the event looks set to be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

In next week's scenes, Ned Willis realises that he's kidding himself by continuing to pursue a relationship with Amy.

Ned feels that his heart truly belongs with Harlow Robinson after their secret passion when they were lost on the River Bend trip together.

Deciding that it's time to take the honest approach, Ned vows to break up with Amy once her fashion show is out of the way.

Later, Harlow happily takes to the stage as a model at Amy's big event.

Things start off well, but Harlow is horrified when damning pictures are exposed showing her and Ned giving into temptation again.

The passionate shots are beamed onto Harlow's white dress for all to see in the middle of the fashion show.

Ned watches on in horror as his guilty secret is revealed, while Amy is upset to realise that she has been badly betrayed.

Shocked by Ned's infidelity, Amy angrily demands an explanation from him.

Ned tries his best to apologise, but they both realise that there's no coming back from this.

Despite Amy's heartbreak, Harlow is glad that the path now seems clear for her to be with Ned properly.

However, with the truth out and so many people unhappy, could Ned and Harlow's relationship actually be over before it's properly begun?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, May 2 at 1.45pm and 5pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Tuesday, May 31 at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours' Amy Greenwood is questioned over her feelings for Toadie Rebecchi
Are these old friends headed for romance?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ara-questions/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Zara starts to believe that her mother Amy has feelings for Toadie on Neighbours next week ? but are her suspicions correct?

Zara first voices her theory to Amy while at Hendrix's memorial. She catches Amy looking at Toadie, who is helping Melanie Pearson in The Drinks Diva, and then hears just how much she values him.

Amy tells Zara how great a person Toadie is ? how he's always been there for her and everyone else around him, for as long as she's known him.

But when Zara challenges her mum, telling her that she clearly feels more for him than just friendship, Amy's rattled and quick to set her daughter straight.

Amy does acknowledge that she leans on Toadie as a friend more than she perhaps should and resolves to step back ? but it isn't long before she has to call on him for help again.

Zara though remains unconvinced that her mum is telling the truth. She does later think that perhaps Amy simply misses having a partner, and helps her enter the world of online dating.

But if Zara is right about Amy's feelings, then there is already a problem. Toadie's currently in a relationship with Melanie, Amy's business partner.

And not only that, but it sounds like wedding bells could be in the air for the popular pair with Toadie popping the question in scenes to air later this week.

While Melanie does initially turn him down, they do agree to move in together and the pair appear to be more loved up than ever. So how would Toadie react if he was to hear that Amy is indeed starting to look at him as more than just her old friend?

Considering that this is one potential love triangle that would be under the same roof now that they all live together, things could be about to get complicated on Ramsay Street.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach and streams on 10 Play.

Neighbours' Amy Greenwood to confess her feelings for Toadie Rebecchi
    Toadie is stunned.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...adie-feelings/

    Neighbours spoilers follow.

Neighbours' Amy Greenwood decides to come clean over her secret feelings for Toadie Rebecchi next week.

Amy has been struggling with jealousy in recent days after Toadie announced his engagement to Melanie Pearson.

Amy's daughter Zara Selwyn has spotted the tell-tale signs that her mum is privately heartbroken ? and the teen has even asked Harold Bishop to help her sabotage Toadie and Melanie's relationship.

In next week's episodes, Amy feels more awkward than ever when she's asked to make Melanie's wedding dress.

This means spending more time near the happy couple, having to endure every second of their close affection for each other.

As Amy struggles with her emotions, she seeks some advice from Harold, who remains caught up in the drama.

Toadie and Melanie try to understand what's going on, but as Amy finds it difficult to keep her feelings in check, she admits to Toadie that she's starting to see him as more than just a friend.

Toadie is stunned by the confession, while Amy decides that it's best to stay out of the way of both him and Melanie.

The couple try to understand where this surprising turn of events has come from, but Amy thinks it's best to put some space between herself and Toadie.

Has Toadie and Amy's friendship been destroyed for good following her revelation, or can they work things out?

Toadie and Melanie's wedding is one of the storylines taking centre stage in the final weeks of Neighbours.

The long-running soap is gearing up for its ultimate series finale, which airs on July 28 in Australia and July 29 in the UK.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach and streams on 10 Play.
