    Nicky Wheatley

Kimberly Hart-Simpson has revealed more details of the soap's next Geoff Metcalfe twist.

Scenes airing later this month see Daniel Osbourne steal money belonging to Geoff after they argue at the solicitor's office. During the row, Daniel rebukes Geoff for using vulnerable sex workers.

Daniel later hands the money over to Kimberly's character Nicky Wheatley, encouraging her to use it to re-pay her debts and start a new life.

His surprising plan comes shortly after Nicky has been admitted to hospital following a nasty incident, but the big question is whether Daniel's risky tactics could make matters even worse for her.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media about Daniel's scheme, Kimberly explained: "My own reaction would be that Daniel is going to another extreme, because we are seeing what we think is a potential mental health spiral for Daniel.

"But actually it's very much the opposite. He's really getting it together. He's really working things out here. He's thinking: 'This isn't just about me, there are other people in the world that are suffering'.

"I think taking the money isn't a crazy thing for Daniel to do. It's a fight for women's rights! It's fighting for women that are in that industry as well. He has that conversation with Geoff about the sex workers. I think he's pro-sex workers and wants to make a change there.

"Daniel also knows how badly Geoff has treated Yasmeen. I think everybody is starting to see that now. Viewers will love that Daniel takes the money from him.

"It starts to set in that actually, Daniel is really working his life out here. He's probably starting to be in the best mental health state that he's been in for a very long time."

Asked whether Nicky should be wary of crossing Geoff, Kimberly replied: "I think Nicky would think he's catnip! He's a dangerous calculating man, but he's not an instant danger man. He's a long slow burner, and I don't think she'd have that. He wouldn't be around long enough for him to do that to her.

"Everyone is saying: 'He's a dangerous man'. Of course he is, but he's not a drastic man, in that he'd never do something for the public to see because then it would blow his cover."

Daniel's efforts to help Nicky also give him a chance to redeem himself, after he upset her with a harsh comment about her sex work in Monday night's double bill (September 21).

Kimberly added: "The trust hasn't gone. She still knows Daniel is not a bad person. He comes to the hospital, and he's one of the only friend visitors she would have in that scenario.

"Obviously she has her mum coming to see her too, but she has no-one else in her life and that's heartbreaking ? that the person she met a couple of months ago is there for her and there's nobody else.

"She does see a future with Daniel, but I think they have their own little journey to sort out first. I don't think either of them could commit to something right this second, until they take a moment to digest everything that's happened to them.

"This money that's presented to her could be life-changing, whether she takes it or not, but that is another thing that she needs to digest.

"There is definitely something there between Nicky and Daniel and I think you can see it. I think viewers can start to see it."

Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has teased the return of her character Nicky Wheatley, revealing that she's back on set.
The actress shared a photo of herself in a red ITV Studios-branded puffer jacket to her Instagram, writing: "Always thought I would make a good red coat ent. Good to be back."
Hart-Simpson appeared on Corrie as sex worker Nicky throughout 2020, providing solace and a shoulder to cry on for Daniel Osbourne as he grieved for his late wife Sinead. She eventually got into financial trouble and Daniel had to come to her rescue.
Daniel was in a relationship with Daisy Midgeley, and although it cooled off, she supported him during his pupil grooming accusation scandal, and scenes set to air next week will show that they still have a spark and an interest in each other. Will Nicky's return complicate that?
Following her first run on Coronation Street, the actress, who has been open and proud about her pansexuality, appeared on Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion, the twist on E4's reality series that saw the line-up living together.
Then, in December last year, she announced her return to the Street, stating: "Exactly a year since the first Corrie Epps aired. It's been a right mad one. I cried outside Rita's gaff flannel acting. Wore a right nice blue cardi. Went on @celebsgodating and then became best mates with @waynelineker.
"Some would say I have peaked too soon. I would like to think it's only just begun. I am grateful for this journey. The highs, the lows and the in-betweens."

If you thought that you'd seen the last of Nicky Wheatley on Coronation Street then think again, because she will be back on our screens very soon.

When we last saw Nicky, she had made a hasty exit after moving out of Daniel's flat following his less than enthusiastic response to her telling him how she felt about him.

Many were worried that it was the end of Kimberly Hart-Simpson's second stint on the ITV soap, but it would appear that the writers still have plenty of plans for the popular character.

Scenes set to air next week will show Nicky make her return to Weatherfield, where Peter discovers her in an unexpected place.

Peter, who has been dealing with all the drama surrounding dodgy surgeon Mr Thorne, has a run-in with Carla and then heads to the police station with his cab to pick up a fare.

But when he gets there, the person he's collecting is Nicky, who tells Peter she was there after being arrested for no reason.

But they are the perfect pair to chat at that moment, as they each have their own story to tell about some of the injustices they have faced ? and how they are sick of being trampled on by society.

Peter is quick to tell Carla and Daniel about seeing Nicky when he gets back, but he does not get quite the response from Daniel that he expected?

Kimberly recently spoke about her love for Coronation Street and what it was like to join the show during the global pandemic.

"I got through it, we all did, you know. And I was so fortunate that they continued that storyline, how lucky I was," she said.

"You think that 'last in first out' vibes. But no, they had my back, and I am forever grateful to the show for that."

Coronation Street star Kimberly Hart-Simpson has discussed the possibility of Nicky Wheatley making a return to the cobbles.

Speaking to The Express about her character, who last appeared on the soap back in 2022, Hart-Simpson said she would "love" to reprise the role of Nicky should the opportunity come about.

"I mean I have returned. I would absolutely love to go back there of course," the actress said, adding: "And I'm not dead yet so.

"Nobody knows what the future holds, but I absolutely loved my time there."

Hart-Simpson was cast in Coronation Street back in 2020, with her character Nicky being involved in a storyline which saw widower Daniel Osbourne hire a sex worker in order to cope with the death of his wife, Sinead.

The actress later reprised her role in 2022, where Nicky found herself involved in a love triangle with Daniel and his new girlfriend Daisy Midgley after landing a job as a teaching assistant at Weatherfield High.

However, the actress later confirmed that she had exited the soap again following the completion of her storyline just a few months later.

Confirming her exit at the time, a spokesperson told Digital Spy that Hart-Simpson had finished filming but "that's not to say we might not see her pop up in Weatherfield again in the future".
following her second exit from the soap, Hart-Simpson revealed that she had been "forever grateful" to ITV for bringing her character back. Since leaving Coronation Street, the actress has gone on to join the cast of Brassic for its fifth season.

Meanwhile on the cobbles, Daniel and Daisy have faced further turmoil in their relationship since Nicky's exit ? with upcoming scenes set to see the pair split up after Daniel discovered Daisy's affair with Ryan Connor.
