    Susie McCalister (Bridie Carter)

The Daily Telegraph has an article saying Bridie Carter will be joining H&A as real estate agent Susie McCalister. People may remember Bridie from the TV shows McLeod's Daughters & 800 Words. I imagine it will be a guest role only - not confirmed, so we will see (I can't copy the link as it is a subscriber only article):

    "Bridie Hits A Home Trifecta.

A job offer at any time is a good thing for an actor.

For Bridie Carter, with the industry crippled due to coronavirus, the chance to work at this time was one she wasn't expecting.

So when producers called and offered her a gig as real estate agent Susie McCalister on TV drama Home and Away, it was a no-brainer.

"I think it is miraculous that in these uncertain times when my industry is floundering that I got a phone call to say would I like to come to Summer Bay," Carter told The Daily Telegraph.

"I was astounded & ecstatic at the same time. I am very fortunate and very grateful because I have a lot of friends who are sitting in a very precarious position."

Carter is well known for her work on the small & big screen, most notably as Tess on McLeod's Daughters and more recently as Jan in 800 Words.

It is actually her third stint on Home and Away as she has played two other characters - Brooke Taylor and Toni Jarvis - over the shows 32-year history.

"I think it is now more than ever important for us as theatrical people to tell stories that are uplifting and entertaining in these very strange times" the Byron Bay-based mother of three explained."

Home and Away newcomer Bridie Carter teases role as John Palmer's love interest Susie
"It's one of the best roles I've ever played."

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...-palmer-susie/

Home and Away's newest addition Bridie Carter has opened up about her role on the show as a love interest for John Palmer, calling it "one of the best" she's ever played.

She's set to play real estate agent Susie McCalister, a part which Bridie said came as a bit of a surprise with a phone call from the soap's producers coming out of the blue.

"And they said, Home and Away would like you to take a look at this role," she told Now To Love.

"I was shocked, but they had just returned to filming [following a COVID-19 filming hiatus], so I read the brief and spoke to the producers about this wonderful character. It was crazy and wonderful all at once!"

"It's one of the best roles I've ever played," Bridie added. "Susie is so intriguing, and confident about who she is.

"It was so much fun to play out with Shane [Withington], and I've had a ball playing out this story. It's special when that happens, particularly on a long-running show."

The McLeod's Daughters star has previously had two small stints on the soap where she played characters Brooke Taylor and Toni Jarvis over the years.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

Digital Spy article. Susie is up to no good!

Home and Away airs huge twist in John Palmer and Susie McAllister story
    The truth is revealed.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...llister-truth/

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has confirmed that newcomer Susie McAllister is conning John Palmer.

The bombshell revelation aired in Tuesday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia (February 23), as viewers discovered that Susie is up to no good.

When Susie (Bridie Carter) joined Summer Bay earlier this month, she quickly made a beeline for John and concentrated her efforts on getting to know him.

The real estate consultant has since stirred up trouble by encouraging John to challenge Alf Stewart by running for president of the Surf Club ? and has even started masterminding his election campaign.

In the show's latest episode, Susie visited John's house and continued to give him some tips on how to win over potential voters.

Susie discreetly used this opportunity to gather information on John's past, asking him about the photos of Raffy and Jett around the house and whether he has any biological children.

John absent-mindedly provided Susie with all the information she needed, unaware that she was already thinking of ways to use it for her own benefit.

Later, when John popped out for a while and left Susie alone in his house, she started snooping through his private financial folders and taking pictures.

John still has no idea that he's being taken for a ride by Susie ? and it seems this story is just getting started.

Shane Withington, who plays John, tweeted after the episode aired: "This is the beginning of a terrific run for John and Susie? Thanks for tuning in everybody. And keep watching."

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in March.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Digital Spy article following the latest on-air promo:

Home and Away confirms three new targets for scheming Susie McAllister
Her sly behaviour intensifies in upcoming episodes.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...three-targets/

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Home and Away has confirmed that Susie McAllister will try to scam Leah Patterson-Baker and Justin Morgan ? as well as threatening Irene Roberts.

Susie (Bridie Carter) has launched a charm offensive since joining Summer Bay, but she has an ulterior motive behind her arrival.

Viewers have already seen Susie snoop through John Palmer's financial records after starting a relationship with him.

A new promo, playing at the top of this page, has now teased Susie's next move, as she appears to be trying to con Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin (James Stewart) out of their savings.

Leah and Justin are planning to buy a house together, but have struggled to secure a mortgage after attending bank meetings.

In upcoming episodes, Susie presents a possible solution to this problem, leaving the couple overjoyed ? but not everything is as it seems.

In a secretive chat on the phone to a mystery contact, Susie boasts: "I've got a lovely couple on the hook."

While Leah and Justin won't hear a bad word said against Susie, not everyone in Summer Bay is a fan.

ew footage shows Irene (Lynne McGranger) trying to voice suspicions over Susie's behaviour, admitting that she has a bad feeling about the deceptive newcomer.

This culminates in a showdown between Susie and Irene. Will Irene live to regret standing in Susie's way?

Shane Withington, who plays John, recently told Digital Spy: "I knew from the start that John was going to get played because we wanted to do the story justice.

"In the beginning, the story is funny and it's fun and it's challenging, and then it turns to tragedy. It's a really good story arc that continues to give long after.

"The writers have done a great job at linking other storylines to it. It's a fascinating story arc to follow."

Home and Away airs the latest Susie drama next week in Australia and in around a month's time on Channel 5 in the UK.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Home and Away's Susie McAllister takes shocking action against Irene Roberts
Susie sets out to eliminate Irene as a threat.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hom...s-spike-drink/

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK and Australian viewers.

Home and Away's Susie McAllister will take her scheming to a new level in upcoming scenes as she sets out to take drastic action against Irene Roberts by spiking her drink.

Viewers already know that Susie (Bridie Carter) has been up to no good ever since her arrival in Summer Bay earlier this year, which saw her settle quickly into a relationship with John Palmer (Shane Withington) in order to manipulate him for her own benefit.

A new teaser for the soap recently confirmed that Susie will soon target Leah Patterson-Baker and Justin Morgan in her plans too, but as a suspicious Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) continues to voice her concerns about the newcomer, Susie decides it's time to take action against Irene too.

According to TVWeek, Susie and Irene end up getting into a huge row after Irene confronts Susie about her motives for coming to Summer Bay, and Susie claims that Irene is in love with John.

John doesn't like the discord and attempts to be the peacemaker by inviting Irene to join him and Susie for dinner at Salt.

While Irene and Susie are civilised to begin with, the night soon takes a nasty turn when Susie secretly pours something into Irene's drink before offering it to her.

Irene, who is teetotal, politely declines the drink from Susie, but an oblivious John happily offers to take the drink instead.

After sampling the drink, John quickly leaves Salt and appears to be in a very bad way. Will he be okay?

These scenes air next week in Australia, and in April in the UK.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Home And Away's Susie flees with Leah and Justin's house deposit
Susie skips town with Leah and Justin's cash.

    https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebri...e-carter-67180

This is the image that will break Home And Away fans' hearts.

Having conned Leah and Justin out of their home-loan money, wicked Susie this week stuffs their cash into a bag before fleeing the Bay.

Are their life savings gone forever?

Ever since she arrived in town posing as a real estate agent, Susie (Bridie Carter) has been secretly scheming to fleece Summer Bay residents.

She convinced new surf club president John (Shane Withington) to organise a surf competition just so she could steal the proceeds.

And she helped Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin (James Stewart) buy a house together.

"They want a place of their own where they can start creating memories together," Ada, 43, tells TV WEEK.

"They have the money. Cue real estate agent Susie, who helped them find a home."

But when the bank knocked back their loan application, Susie convinced the couple to go with a private lender.

Over the moon when told the deal had gone through, their elation turns to horror when the real estate agent dealing with the sale has never heard of Leah and Justin.

The pair confront Susie at John's, but she slickly talks her way out of trouble, blaming the agent for a simple error.

The next morning, Leah and Justin, keen to sort out the mess, wait at the surf club to see Susie.

They bail up John ? where is she?

Their suspicions that Susie is a fake are starting to grow.

But oblivious John defends his girlfriend.

"John is smitten with Susie," Shane, 62, says "All his attention has been focused on getting to know her."

Meanwhile, Irene (Lynne McGranger), who was convinced the newcomer was trouble from the start, goes to John's house ? just as Susie is about to do a runner.

Sensing a threat to her plans, sneaky Susie uses a chloroformed rag on poor Irene, knocking her out.

By the time the others get to John's house, Susie is gone ? along with Leah and Justin's money and the wad of cash stolen from the surf club.

"It's really sad for them all," Ada says.

Will the police catch up with swindling Susie or are they too late?
