Tonight's Holby City episode saw Ric make a worrying discovery, Sacha take shock action and Cameron (nearly) get caught out.

Here are the six biggest questions we've been left with until next week...

1. Is Ric going to die?

The biggest question to come out of tonight's episode is regarding Ric's future, after Max made a worrying discovery less than a year after his last operation.

When a fluke accident prompted Ric to undergo further tests, Max was left feeling anxious after spotting an anomaly on his brain scan.

Max explained to Ric that he would need to go under the knife again in order to have this removed, but was honest about the risks that came with the type of surgery he needed.

He's the cat with nine lives, but can Ric pull through life-threatening surgery yet again?

2. Has Cameron crossed a line?

Up until recently, Cameron has always been able to justify his nefarious actions, but he crossed a line when he gaslighted his best friend Nicky tonight.

Acutely aware that his boss Ange didn't hold him in high regard, Cameron's insecurities were intensified when locum Drew Nicholson-Heath (aka John Barrowman) didn't either.

Jealous of all the attention Nicky was getting from both Ange and Drew, a conniving Cameron sabotaged the stitches she had done on a patient in surgery ? before convincing her that she'd made a mistake.

After swooping in to play the hero again, Cameron was confident that he'd got away with his manipulative behaviour, but not everyone was convinced?

3. Does Dr Drew know Cameron's secrets?

Ange has already got the measure of Cameron, but it's now looking like she isn't the only one.

Despite having only arrived on the ward that day, Dr Nicholson-Heath took an instant dislike to Cameron, and wasn't shy about expressing this.

Drew also wasn't convinced by Cameron's attempts to gaslight Nicky, and urged her to watch her back. So is the net closing in?

4. Is Nicky in danger?

It was a fairly rogue decision to tentatively place Nicky on our list of Cameron's next victim, but six weeks later, and it doesn't seem like much of one now.

Despite their seemingly close connection, Nicky is quickly shaping up to be Cameron's new nemesis, thanks to her natural medical skills compared to his own incompetence.

And while we've heard whispers of the pair getting closer over the next few weeks, tonight's episode has shown that Cameron will go to any lengths to get his way ? and Nicky is certainly not immune from his evil schemes...

5. Will Essie forgive Sacha?

Sacha acted profoundly out of character tonight, when he persuaded a changed Frankie to disappear again.

Frankie was ready to finally take over the full-time care of her baby daughter Isla, but her reappearance panicked Sacha ? who believed Essie would give up on life if she wasn't a mother.

Upcoming scenes will see Sacha forced to face up to the consequences of his surprising actions, but will Essie forgive him when she finds out the truth?

6. Is Jac heading for heartbreak?

Fans were offered a rare glimpse into Jac's softer side tonight, as her cold resolve thawed when Kian spent time with her young daughter Jac.

Jac was so taken in by Kian's natural rapport with Emma that she decided to give their relationship another chance, but it's clear that heartbreak could still await her.

That's because Kian hasn't been entirely honest with Jac about his painkiller dependency, having slipped back into worrying old habits in the wake of his beating last week. Will Kian tell Jac the truth? Or is their romance doomed already?

Holby City continues on Tuesday, August 4 at 8pm on BBC One.
