Next week on Casualty, Faith and Lev get more devastating news about Luka, Jacob suffers a painful loss and Rosa is finally back.

Here are the nine biggest moments to watch out for...

1. Lev and Faith get more devastating news

Next week's episode will explore the aftermath of tonight's heartbreaking scenes, in which Faith told Dylan that Luka's cancer was now untreatable.

Faith and Lev's seven-year old son Luka was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the start of the year, but up until this point, had been undergoing chemotherapy in a bid to shrink it.

Having been honest with Lev about Luka's prognosis, Faith joins her volatile husband for the latest appointment about Luka's treatment. But after being told that Luka isn't eligible for a more specific therapy, Lev and Faith struggle to agree on the best plan of action.

2. Lev seeks distraction elsewhere

Devastated over the news about Luka, Lev shuts Faith out again and becomes further infuriated when he believes his colleagues are gossiping about his family's tragic situation.

After some home truths from Dylan, Lev struggles to cope with his emotions and seeks a distraction away from the hospital.

3. Jacob prepares for the biggest day of his career

Next week's episode is a big one for Jacob, who is preparing for the biggest moment in his career to date.

Following Charlie's big decision to step down, Jacob is hoping to become his successor as clinical nurse manager, but has a gruelling interview to get through first.

Although it should be a straightforward process on paper, Jacob is thrown into a panic when Connie informs him that his interview has been brought forward, meaning he has no time to prepare. As Jacob dashes off to get ready, he ignores a call from Nate...

4. Jacob struggles with his responsibilities

After his interview, Jacob is horrified when Nate is brought into the ED with breathing problems, having fallen over outside a pharmacy.

As reality dawns on him, Jacob is left guilt-ridden when he remembers that he should have picked up Nate's medication as soon as the interview was over.

Furious with himself, Jacob promises to call Nate's sister Tina down from Oncology, where she works. But despite his concerns for Nate, Jacob quickly finds himself pulled in different directions treating patients, and never gets around to calling Tina.

5. Rash has a little Faith

With Lev nowhere to be seen, Faith applies a different coping mechanism and uses her medical experience to search for a solution elsewhere.

After exhausting all options for other treatments for Luka, Faith is given renewed hope when Rash approaches her and mentions a treatment called Proton Beam therapy that he studied earlier in his career.

Grateful for Rash's support, Faith takes her findings to the consultant, who agrees to look into it for her.

6. Jacob suffers a devastating loss

Despite his best intentions to support Nate, Jacob is devastated when his friend's health suddenly takes a turn for the worst. And by the time Tina has finally arrived in the ED, Nate has sadly passed away.

Distraught, Jacob tells Connie that he's failed everyone ? his earlier optimism about his interview long forgotten.

7. David gets big news

After months without her, David is delighted to get the long-awaited news that his wife Rosa is coming home.

Rosa's impending return coincides with an already big day for David, who, like Jacob, is also preparing to take a step up in his career.

As an excited David tells a disapproving Marty of his plans to welcome Rosa home, he begins to worry about the impact this will have on the strict routine he adheres to in order to manage his bipolar disorder.

Despite his concerns, David allows himself to be persuaded by Marty to make a more fun and more spontaneous welcome home plan. But is this what Rosa really wants? Possibly not...

8. Rosa is back

She's been off screens for six months, but Rosa will indeed be back in Holby land by the end of next week's episode.

And as it happens, Rosa isn't keen on an extravagant night out on the town either, delighting David with her desire for a simple, more quiet evening at home with him. Aww.

9. Dylan makes a big discovery

As Dylan battles with his not-so-secret feelings for Faith, he'll make a game-changing discovery next week that could turn everything on its head.

Adhering to his promise to support Faith no matter what, Dylan steps up when he grows fed up with Lev's unsupportive behaviour.

With Faith in pieces, Dylan will later be left in a huge dilemma when he stumbles across something that could change everything. But fans will have to wait and see just exactly what he finds out, and what he does about it....

Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, August 1 at 8.40pm on BBC One.
