Casualty will be airing the infamous episode it was forced to skip later this month, Digital Spy can exclusively confirm.

The BBC medical drama is showing the extra unseen edition of the show on Saturday, September 26.

Back in May, the BBC made the difficult decision to skip an episode of Casualty, due to parallels with the coronavirus pandemic.

The episode, named 'Code Orange' was previously scheduled to air during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, but after careful consideration, was postponed. The scenes involve the Emergency Department going into lockdown following a chemical attack.

However, fans will now have the chance to see the never before seen dramatic scenes between Ethan, Fenisha and Will, as the conflict surrounding the father of her baby finally comes to a head.

Speaking about the decision to air the instalment three months later, Head of Continuing Drama at BBC Studios, Kate Oates said: "We are really proud of this Casualty episode and are excited to now share it with audiences.

"We know the Casualty fans will be delighted to watch the never-before-seen moments of the Fenisha, Will and Ethan love triangle, and to see the whole ED come together to tackle an invisible threat."

Casualty is currently on a transmission break, after filming was paused just before the UK lockdown back in March.

Cast and crew have recently returned to set and are working on a special episode, which will explore the pandemic through the eyes of ED workers.
