Viewers saw Iqra (Priya Davdra) come out to her sister Habiba earlier this week, explaining that she was in a relationship with a woman.
Despite Habiba's support, Iqra has felt unable to apply the same honesty to her grandparents Mariam and Arshad – nervous of their reaction.
Iqra has even taken steps to distance herself from her family as a result, deciding to move into Robbie's spare room to give her more space.
However, upcoming scenes will see her decide it's time Mariam and Arshad knew the truth and she'll bring Ash to Walford to meet them.
As Iqra prepares to drop the bombshell, Ash arrives for moral support. Despite being wracked with nerves, Iqra proudly announces that Ash is her girlfriend – but how will Mariam and Arshad react?
Gurlaine's previous TV credits include roles in Holby City and Doctors and she is also a former UK Taekwondo champion. She'll make her EastEnders debut on Thursday, August 29.
EastEnders continues tonight (August 16) at 8pm on BBC One.
