Casualty will introduce newcomer Archie Hudson this weekend – and she'll be bringing a big secret to the ED with her.
Genesis Lynea has been cast in the role of feisty doctor Archie, who has a baptism of fire during a difficult first day.
Archie's first scenes will see her rudely leave her hospital induction early, believing it to be a total waste of her time,
Instead, Archie comes into the ED eager to make a good impression, but soon faces a number of awkward questions about why she has transferred hospitals so late in her rotation.
With Elle already suspicious of her, Archie proceeds to make matters even worse for herself by getting on the wrong side of boss Connie Beauchamp – who is less than impressed with her over-confident attitude.
Although Archie desperately tries to impress Connie, her temper later gets the better of her while she's dealing with a patient complaint.
As Archie's backstory starts to unravel, she is forced to face up to her past when confronted by Connie. But what is Archie hiding? And will Connie give her a second chance?
Given that Lynea looks set to be staying around for the foreseeable, it looks like it...
