Emmerdale has announced that Life on Mars star Dean Andrews is joining the cast this spring.
The popular ITV soap hasn't revealed much about exactly who Andrews will be playing, but it did tease that Andrews' character will be "stirring up trouble in the village" and "find himself head to head with Cain Dingle".
As if Cain hasn't already gone through enough!
"I have always loved Emmerdale and am thrilled to be joining the cast," Andrews said. "As a Yorkshire lad, I have always watched the show and think that everything from the acting to the stories are consistently great, and I can't wait to get stuck in."
Executive producer Jane Hudson added: "We are absolutely delighted that Dean is joining the show.
"He is a superb actor, and his character is certainly going to shake things up for some of our villagers. And as a Yorkshireman, he is going to fit into Emmerdale perfectly."
Andrews played Ray Carling in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, and has also had appearances in Last Tango in Halifax, Silent Witness, The Moorside, and Marchlands.
Monday night's episode will see Cain make a move on Charity. He will then be arrested later this week for Joe Tate's murder.
Cain actor Jeff Hordley recently poured cold water over a possible return for Joe, claiming that he has "not seen any evidence" that the character may still be alive.
