    I think Tyrone does take some responsibility for Ruby, but they both agreed the girls should live with Fizz. I doubt Ty is happy about them moving, and can't see it happening anyway.

    Sorry, yes, I meant partnership rather than marriage. The fact they are not actually married is the reason I said she isn't entitled to anything.

    It is not now nor ever has been a legal term. It was a commonly used term for two people living together without the benefit of marriage, but is now generally reckoned old fashioned. People have partners now not common law husbands or wives.

    What I mean is, here in the US, people in 'common law' marriages have legal rights to property, etc. in most states. I was wondering if you had the same legal rights?

    There are no rights for unmarried couples unless they specifically draw up a legally binding agreement between them.
