His answer is to just take the money off Debbie and fly out to do his DJ gig, never to return till the Police have forgot that he is wanted.

The biggest mystery is why he is out on bail.
He is a Connor ... from what I have seen none of them are the brightest sparks in the tool box

I think they said that Leanne had not taken the takings to the bank for a few days, but even so as you say it must have been some night.
If Debbie could not pay Ed his compo, but now writes him out a cheque is it going to clear. Surely she is not going to deposit the money from the robbery, will that not look suspicious. The whole story is nonsense Debbie dealing with the whole matter herself without involving a lawyer, or getting them to sign any documents. Aggie could be back next week asking for more.
Ed's hands seen to be healed already, does he deserve 30,000.

The thing is, an "insurance job" usually means torching the place and losing everything, that's when you make the big bucks. Claiming insurance for one night - or even one week's - takings is chicken feed in the great scheme of things.

Don't think it was run like a proper casino with people betting using money. So probably did not need a licence as it was a "fun night". Think they were using chips or tokens, with the person with the most tokens at the end of the night winning a cash prize. Dev said something to Tim along those lines on Friday or Monday. As usual these things are never explained in detail, just a general idea, sort mentioned in passing

Now you come to mention it, I think you're right. Which means there was even less money in the safe than I was thinking.

These schemes are never fully explained, just talked about in vague terms. I am guessing that players had to buy chips or tokens, in order to play. Presumably everyone started with the same amount of chips, otherwise you could win by buying more chips that everyone else. Not really a well thought out storyline. Like the robbery, Ryan broke off the handle of the lock, after using the combination to open the safe, which meant that when the safe was examined all the tumblers in the lock would still be aligned, so it would be obvious that the safe was opened using the combination. If the safe had still been locked I am not sure if snapping off the handle would allow the safe to be opened. Even a Connor should know that the CCTV should have a back up battery to allow it to continue recording if power is cut off.
