I do too. I hope her and Martin stay for many years. The square needs good strong couples.

I have read an interesting post on EastEnders on another site by a great poster who sums things up perfectly on the soap audience of today and imo they are bang on the money.

I am paraphrasing but basically there's a generation of the soap audience who have been programmed to see shocks, twists, stunts and sensationalism as the norm and they can't comprehend normal storytelling. In fact I would add they wouldn't know a character led story line if they fell over it. This would be funny if it wasn't true.

I think it is a very accurate statement by the poster ...

That's very true, some soaps seem to churn out the shocks these days. I prefer storylines with substance, it's what got me hooked on EastEnders in the first place and why I keep watching.

I just happened to google Coronation Street a few weeks ago and the description that came up was that it was a program about ordinary folk. Well these days, the soaps are full of murderers, rapists, kidnappers, blackmailers etc that they can no longer be classed as bei ordinary.

I'm really glad of this back to basic approach EastEnders is taking at the moment.

Watching the scene with Whitney and Lee is like watching a car crash happening in slow motion. Very sad.

I liked Sharon's new look without makeup. The Carters are so much more bearable and "normal." Liked the stag scenes and some nice interaction between the characters.
