I never liked Kim as a character in H&A so I can't see what all the fuss is about sorry!

    I take it you're a fan, Siobhan?

I wasn`t able to watch H&A when he was in it, but he sounds an interesting character.

Eye candy but I loved his character too. Have an old dvd (was a christmas present) on H&A relationships and just watched it recently. Forgot how great some of the old cast were.

Home and Away used to be so much better than it is nowadays.

Sadly, Dazzle, that is the case but I think this applies to all soaps nowadays .. repetitive storylines, unrealistic storylines ... and I guess it is only natural and inevitable .. there is only so much that can be done in soaps ...

    Very true, Perdy.

I think the rot really started to set in with H&A when it became The Braxton Show and started featuring more and more crime and gangsters. It's lost the family feel (with plenty of disasters thrown in for good measure) that it used to have. It's not going to change any time soon though as it gets high ratings in Australia, and the Barretts have been brought in to replace Heath and Casey.

That`s exactly how I feel too Dazzle. When the Braxtons first came into it, and were heavily featured, that`s when the rot set in a little bit for me. It seemed to have losts it charm of the very early days. I can`t remember really disliking as many characters back then as I do now.
When Maddie first came into it with Spencer a few years ago, it was from that point on when I realised that we`d never get back the charm of what H&A meant to me when I started watching it from the very first episode way back in 1988. H&A like Neighbours is just too PC these days, and that`s a real shame.
