I'd like to see Jacob being mature about Val's HIV status and relatively informed (as much as an 8 year old should be..) to highlight the gulf between the generations and their attitudes and education

Coming up on Emmerdale, Belle Dingle gets close to a breaking point as she struggles to cope with her guilt over the death of Gemma Andrews.

While Belle's mum Lisa wants her to forget about what happened and move on with her life, the schoolgirl feels unable to do so - especially with Gemma's father Dom (Wil Johnson) living in such close proximity.

Sensing this is a problem, Lisa steps in by telling her husband Zak that she wants them to spend less time with Dom for Belle's sake. However, as Zak is still unaware of Belle's secret, he isn't quite sure what the problem is.

Despite Lisa's best efforts to keep them apart, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) later speaks to Dom and almost confesses to him about what really happened on the night that Gemma died.

Belle quickly backtracks when she realises that she may have said too much, but will Dom realise that she is hiding something?

    Monday

As Donna prepares to leave the village, Laurel makes one last attempt to persuade Marlon to be part of his daughter's life. At the same time, Rhona is adamant that Leo should know his sister and takes him to meet April, but Marlon is less than impressed to see them together.

Donna makes a final plea to Marlon, saying that while he may hate her, he should not take those feelings out on April should she ever come looking for him. It's an emotional farewell as Donna says her goodbyes to Bob and Brenda, but will Marlon really be able to let her and his daughter go?

Meanwhile, when Moira questions Pete's nightly activities, he is forced to admit his relationship with Debbie. Moira immediately fears the fallout. At the same time, Chas advises Debbie that she can't let what happened with Cameron ruin her life. Overhearing this, Ross takes the opportunity to stir things, telling Debbie how Pete has been mouthing off about their relationship. Soon Debbie is on the warpath...

Elsewhere, Charity tries to reassure Jimmy that the business situation is her problem and she will sort it. This leads her to shred all of the paperwork, much to Megan's frustration. Later at the café, Jai asks whether Charity has signed the agreement, but Megan cuts him short, aware of her brother's eyes upon them.

Also today, Ruby and Ali are disappointed when the bank turns them down, as is Kerry.

Finally, Jacob is pleased when Alicia and David let him run a delivery service and soon Jacob is offering Noah a job too.

    Tuesday

The Barton boys are still at each other's throats after Ross's meddling, which continues when Ross goes to see Debbie to give her cash from the dodgy cars.

Later, Moira tells James about Pete's relationship and decides to take matters into her own hands by suggesting to Debbie that she should give Pete another chance. Will Debbie listen?

Meanwhile, Rhona is still angry that Marlon won't allow Leo to see his sister. She goes to speak to him, leading to an argument. In a moment of anger, Marlon spills boiling water on his leg. Back from the hospital, Laurel and Rhona make progress with Marlon as he agrees to Leo seeing April, but on his terms…

Elsewhere, ahead of Harper's visit, Charity and Declan make plans to conceal the fact that the haulage business is doing well. All seems to be going to plan when Harper concludes that the business is in dire straits and agrees to oversee its administration. However, when Jimmy arrives back unexpectedly, he fumes at this shock news. Charity and Declan are forced to admit their plan to him, but can they get Jimmy on side?

Also today, Lisa feels the pressure when Zak invites Dom for tea. Lisa later tells Zak that she doesn't want Dom there.

Finally, Ali is angry when she catches Ruby looking at a payday loans company, telling her that she doesn't want a baby if it's going to hurt the family they have already.

    Wednesday

Lisa's anxiety over Belle continues. When her request for time off work is denied, Lisa hastily quits her job, much to Zak's shock.

At the same time, Belle almost confesses to Dom about the night Gemma died, but quickly backtracks. Will Dom see that she is hiding something?

Meanwhile, Ali and Ruby continue to bicker over saving money in their quest for a baby. Ali suggests they give Dan a break if this time doesn't work for them. The pair argue and Ruby is taken aback when Ali tells her that she feels like it's all they ever talk about and she may as well not be there.

Elsewhere, Rhona asks Bob for Donna's number, determined that Leo seeing his sister would change Marlon's mind. Marlon tries to paint on a smile when Rhona tells him they've arranged a date for Leo to meet up with April. He appears heavy-hearted as she goes.

Also today, Charity persuades Jimmy not to go to the police and instead sign the papers on the condition that if they get caught, she'll take the blame. Later, Jai seethes when he finds out that his jobs have been called off, knowing Charity is behind it. When Jai and Rishi confront Charity, the penny drops and her plan is clear to see. Jai promises this will not be the end of it….

Finally, James and Chas are on their date but he quickly clams up when Cain and Moria arrive, uneasy about what Cain may say.

    Thursday (1)

Zak visits Dom and expresses his concerns over Belle. Dom suggests that the three of them could go and scatter Gemma's ashes together, offering some form of closure. Caught off guard, Belle attempts to hide her dread. Later, Belle struggles to contain her emotions and leaves.

Not long afterwards, an increasingly-worried Lisa decides that she needs to take her daughter away once more, scared that Belle may be on the verge of revealing all to her father. But could it already be too late?

Meanwhile, Charity announces her and Jimmy's new company to their clients, irking Jai further. Megan tells Jai that he needs to let go of the Charity situation and takes a bottle of Declan's finest whisky to distract him. The pair are left alone with an obvious chemistry between them.

Elsewhere, Ruby and Ali join Seb in celebrating William's birthday. When a broody Ruby shows a little too much interest in Seb's pregnant girlfriend Cath, Ali questions her about wanting Cath's baby. Ruby flies at the accusation. Later, Ruby notes that William's tin of money is still under the sink…

Also, Chas confides in Debbie about James acting cagey over his previous love interests. Later, they press Cain for information on the matter and are shocked to hear that Moira once fell into that category and how James made a move on her just a few weeks ago.

Finally, Jacob overhears David and Pollard talking about Val's HIV status and Pollard worries that he won't keep it to himself.

    Thursday (2)

Zak struggles to absorb Belle's revelation and is aghast when she asks for his help. Zak explains that he knows what guilt feels like, telling Belle what he once did to Cain.

Zak reflects on his own experience and concludes that the only way to get through the turmoil is by confessing. Zak agrees to go with Belle to the police, but can really stand by and watch his daughter surrender, putting her at the mercy of the law?

Meanwhile, having together consumed half a bottle of whisky, Jai tries to kiss Megan. Despite momentarily responding, Megan soon questions his actions. Jai admits that while his timing is off, he does like her. Will he be brave enough to make a move once more? At the same time, it seems that Declan and Charity's relationship is also stepping up a gear when Declan lets slip that he loves her.

Elsewhere, Ali listens to Ruby talking to Seb about babies, and Ali's heart goes out for her. Later, Ruby is shocked when Ali reveals that she has stolen William's tin and savings. Faced with such temptation, will Ruby accept the money, or will she insist on it being returned - and with it say goodbye to the only real chance of having IVF?

Also, much to Kerry's delight, Dan decides to call it a day on his sperm donations - but hasn't yet broken the news to Ali and Ruby. With them still in the dark for the time being, how will they react when they get to hear his decision?

Finally, James is thwarted when Chas questions him about Moira, while David asks Jacob to forget what he heard about Val.

    Friday

At the police station, Zak is more worried than Belle, who appears calm. She agrees to take the police to exactly where the incident occurred, and Lisa's worst fears are confirmed when officers arrive at the Dingles' to seize Belle's belongings.

When Zak arrives home with their daughter, Lisa is furious, promising that she will never forgive him if anything happens to Belle.

Meanwhile, a desperate Ruby covers for Ali when they return the stolen money. Seb threatens to call the police but decides against it. The pair believe their last remaining hope of having a baby rests in Dan's hands, but they are oblivious that he has had a change of heart.

Elsewhere, keen to spend more time together, Jai tries to persuade Megan to stay - but she leaves as she is worried that she will be caught. Arriving home, Megan is met by smug Declan, who tells her that he has opened up about the depth of his feelings to Charity, much to Megan's chagrin.

Also today, David tells Alicia about Val being HIV positive and the pair distract an inquisitive Jacob.

Finally, Moira plays matchmaker to Chas and James.
