Over on EastEnders, Abi Branning must decide how serious her feelings for Jay Mitchell are when she receives a letter offering her a scholarship trip to Costa Rica.

Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) becomes visibly distracted as she considers her options, but she soon realises that she can't leave Jay (Jamie Borthwick) - and the young couple end up declaring their love for each other.

The teenager is thrilled when a smitten Jay tells her that he doesn't know what he'd do without her, but she is soon left livid when she discovers that Tanya has confirmed the Costa Rica trip behind her back.

Abi insists that she wants to stay with Jay in Walford, but her plans are opposed by Tanya and Max, who attempt to talk the pair round. When Max assures Jay that his relationship with Abi will last whatever happens, the mechanic gets an idea.

Later, an emotional Jay tells Abi that she should go to Costa Rica after all, but on their honeymoon! Jay then drops to one knee, asking a stunned Abi to marry him…

Tuesday

Tanya looks after the car lot while Max is at a bank meeting, but she soon has a huge problem to deal with when the vehicles are towed away due to the supplier going bust. When Max returns, he calls the supplier, but Tanya interferes by shouting down the phone at them. Max is furious as the supplier hangs up following Tanya's outburst. This leads to a heated argument between the couple as they bring up many of their past problems, but the tension soon turns to passion as they fall into each other's arms.

Later, with the intimacy now well and truly back in her relationship, Tanya realises that she also wants everything else to go back to the way it used to be. Tanya then proposes to a shocked Max, but he declines the offer for now - convincing his partner that they should wait for the right time and make the proposal special.


Meanwhile, Alfie has accepted Roxy's offer of a loan, but he lies to Kat by telling her that Eddie lent them the money. Later, Kat confronts Janine over the missing cash and threatens to contact the police unless the lies stop. However, it's Jean who soon ends up in trouble as she is questioned on harassment charges. Soon afterwards, another showdown between Kat and Janine leads to the pair angrily throwing drinks over each other. Kat later realises that it's time to put a stop to the arguments and seeks out Janine, who leaves her stunned by revealing that Eddie is broke and couldn't have lent Alfie the money.


Elsewhere, Alice and Derek have agreed to spend the day together. However, Derek is still furious over yesterday's incident and confronts Lucy, knowing that she was responsible for Alice's drunken state. Lucy soon fights back, though, as Derek's parole officer Joseph arrives on the scene and she grasses him up. Doing some digging, Joseph realises that Derek is lying about being a changed man and now working at the car lot. Joseph warns Derek that any trust between them has now gone. Things get worse for Derek when Alice rebukes him for breaking his promise and abandoning her all day. After Alice tells him that she wants nothing more to do with him, a furious Derek blames Lucy for everything - threatening her, taking more money from the café's till, and warning that there'll be more trouble to come…

Elsewhere, Poppy arrives back on the Square to help with the preparations for Janine's wedding, while Abi receives a letter offering her a scholarship trip to Costa Rica but realises that she can't leave Jay.


THursday


Kat is concerned following Janine's comments yesterday, realising that Alfie may be lying to her over the mystery loan money. When Kat asks Tyler and Anthony about Eddie's finances, her suspicions are confirmed when they reveal that he is indeed broke. Soon afterwards, meddling Derek causes more trouble by telling Kat how close Roxy and Alfie became in her absence. When Kat then makes a dig to Roxy about her reliance on Alfie, the blonde accidentally reveals that she had a crush on him.

Roxy's words make Kat realise that she was the one who gave Alfie the loan. Kat reacts calmly but firmly to the revelations, warning Roxy that this conversation should stay between them and that this will be her last shift at The Vic. Roxy is then left hurt as Kat reclaims her place behind the bar and in Alfie's affections.

Meanwhile, Jean enjoys some good fortune at last as she gets her job back on the flower stall. When Janine arrives to check on her wedding flowers, Jean can't resist slating Michael - warning Janine that her marriage will be rotten to the core. Janine is left shaken following the confrontation - is Jean starting to get through to her?


Elsewhere, Abi isn't best pleased when she discovers that Tanya has confirmed the Costa Rica trip on her behalf. Abi insists that she intends to stay with Jay in Walford, but Tanya and Max oppose her plans and attempt to get Jay on their side. When Max speaks to Jay and assures him that his relationship with Abi will last whatever happens, the young mechanic gets an idea. Later, Jay tells Abi that she should go to Costa Rica after all, but on their honeymoon! How will Abi react when Jay drops to one knee and asks her to marry him?

Also today, Poppy is distraught after being evicted from her bedsit, but things look up when Fatboy offers her a place to stay and Tanya begs her to stay on longer at the salon, while Alice agrees to give Derek yet another chance - but they'll have to see each other in secret as Alice's mum has found out they're in contact and isn't happy about it.

EastEnders' Kat Moon receives a shock next week as she hears all about Roxy Mitchell's crush on Alfie.

As Kat (Jessie Wallace) settles back into Albert Square life, her main concern is looking out for troubled Jean Slater following the news that she has been conned by Michael Moon.

However, Kat's attention is eventually turned back to her personal life when meddling Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) lets her know how close Alfie and Roxy became in her absence.

Keen for answers, Kat confronts Roxy (Rita Simons) in private and is stunned when the blonde blurts out everything, admitting that she did develop a small crush on Alfie (Shane Richie) while they were working together.

Roxy is also forced to confess that she has bailed Alfie out of his financial mess at The Vic by offering him a loan, blowing his lie that Eddie sent the cash.

Kat manages to keep her composure following Roxy's revelations, but is also firm with her - warning that her shifts at the pub are now over.

Marking her territory, Kat then reclaims her position behind the bar and in Alfie's affections.

As a deflated Roxy watches on, will she accept that she'll have to move on from Alfie?
