Alicia is hopeful when Andy explains that Sarah has been asking after her and suggests they should all meet up. In the café, Alicia is amused to see that Sarah is trying to get her and Andy back together. Later in the pub, Alicia and Carl flirt with each other, which causes discomfort for both Chas and Andy.

Alicia is really missing Andy and chooses to start her shift early rather than stay chatting to Carl. When Andy calls in to see Sarah before bedtime, he's worried to hear the hospital have been in touch - they want to see her again…

Meanwhile, Marlon reluctantly agrees to go to the cinema with Rachel and Laurel is jealous as they leave. After the date, Marlon makes it clear to a disappointed Rachel that they are just mates. Marlon then goes to see Laurel, saying that he doesn't want things to be awkward between them. With Ashley due home any moment, Laurel hastily agrees to meet Marlon properly tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Chas tells Aaron that he has to face up to his problems and Aaron tries to apologise to a frightened Hazel; Nicola is outraged to find Alex and Victoria squatting; Cameron arrives back in the village with a new truck and plans to undercut the Kings' haulage business; Aaron admits that he does need help and confesses it's because he saw the fear in Hazel's eyes; while Charity and Cameron put their business plan to Jai and Nikhil, and Cameron is told he can start immediately.

    Tuesday

Having agreed to meet Marlon privately, Laurel is feeling guilty, while at The Woolpack, Rachel tries to dig further over who Marlon is holding out for. Laurel is distracted at work and goes to the locker room to call him, but Marlon doesn't answer as Rachel is still on his case. Laurel leaves a message explaining that she can't make their meeting.

Later, Laurel and Marlon have an awkward moment when Ashley breezily tells Marlon to pop over to work on the cookery book. Marlon nervously goes to see Laurel and the ice is broken as they get on well. Laurel explains that it can't go anywhere between them, despite her feelings. As Marlon leaves, they almost share a kiss but pull away at the last second, but this leaves Laurel worried about where this will end.

Meanwhile, Cameron teases Carl by boasting that he is doing his own private job for the Sharmas. Carl fires Cameron instantly, then storms round to confront the Sharma brothers. However, both Nikhil and Jai remain steadfast - they are sticking with Cameron as he's cheaper.

Elsewhere, Alicia drops in unannounced on a surprised Carl and offers to spend the evening with him, but she later does a runner when he leaves the room to get more wine; Charity sets the date for a small intimate December wedding; Alex goads Declan when he comes to Brook and shuts the door in his face; Nikhil is suspicious when Jai avoids talking about his mother's view on his wedding; and Diane is furious when she discovers what Victoria is up to.

    Wednesday

    Hour-long episode

It's the day of Sarah's hospital appointment and Alicia wishes she could support Andy today. At the hospital, Alicia turns up unannounced to tell Andy that she loves him. Andy's head is in a spin and he can't think of anything but Sarah at the moment, so Alicia walks away believing she's blown it.

Later, when Andy and Debbie hear the seriousness of Sarah's rare condition, they are floored. Sarah has Fanconi Anaemia, a rare genetic disorder affecting children, causing bone marrow failure and predisposition to cancer. Back at home, Debbie explains to the rest of the gathered family about Sarah's condition. Andy leaves to go and find Alicia and they make up - both relieved to be back together.

Meanwhile, Laurel is flustered, unable to hide her guilt over what happened last night. Later, in the pub, Laurel is embarrassed to hear everyone discussing Marlon's love life. As she rushes out, Marlon follows. Laurel is nervous to see him but hastily agrees to meet him later. Marlon is not in the mood when he returns and Rhona jokes with him about his love life. Rhona is speechless when Marlon confesses to being in love with a married woman.

Rhona tries to talk to Marlon, suggesting that he should avoid the heartache but Marlon confesses that it's too late for that. Later, Marlon and Laurel meet illicitly but he is wounded when she tells him it's not going to happen - she can't do this.

Elsewhere, Charity gives Cameron a phone number for a friend of Jai's, who wants some driving jobs done. Being a regular customer of Carl's, Cameron is delighted to accept. At the haulage firm, Carl is livid that Cameron has taken another of his clients and heads out to get revenge.

Cameron gets back to his truck to find his tyres slashed, and with the truck out of action he is unable to complete the job. Puffed-up Carl can't hide his satisfaction when he strolls back into his office having won back the job. Later, Cameron has a go at Carl when it falls into place he was responsible.

Elsewhere, Charity is furious when Jai confesses that his mother knows nothing about their wedding, while Declan drops off legal papers to evict his squatters but Victoria is determined not to be bullied by him.

    Thursday

The Dingles prepare to go for bone-marrow tests to find a match for Sarah. Debbie's anxious about the tests and is annoyed when Cain asks if Jai will be coming with Charity. Jai wants to be supportive and get tested too, but Charity refuses his offer. Jai puts on a brave face, but is clearly troubled when Charity explains that she and Cain will be spending more time together for Debbie's sake.

Cain's annoyed by the enthusiasm for Charity's wedding and struggles to compose himself, taking it very hard. Charity shows her concern for him and offers support but Cain loses his temper, smashing a spanner into a car windscreen.

Meanwhile, Laurel feels awkward around Marlon and snaps at Ashley when he voices how Sarah's situation reminds him of Daniel. Rhona later realises she might have touched a nerve when she tells Marlon to bring his mystery woman to the christening. Marlon leaves the table and Rhona explains to Paddy that the woman in question is married.

Elsewhere, Andy sticks up for Victoria but Declan reminds him he's the boss; Aaron light-heartedly tells Chas that he has an appointment with his GP today but it's clear he's worried; Jimmy drags Carl out of the café when Debbie realises he slashed Cameron's tyres; and Chas is concerned when Bob reminds her it's the anniversary of the train crash.

Cain and Charity talk, unaware that Nikhil is watching. They have a tender moment as Charity urges Cain to pull himself together for Sarah's sake. Soon afterwards, Nikhil rings alarm bells for Jai when he tells him about seeing Cain and Charity together. Charity lets Cain into her house and he wants her to admit she has feelings for him. However, Charity stays strong, insisting she will marry Jai and orders Cain to leave.

Later, Jai wants to know what was said when Charity and Cain were seen together, but Charity snaps at his questioning. Charity goes on to confide in Chas, explaining that she loves Jai but isn't sure marrying him will work and confesses to having recently kissed Cain. Chas warns her that Cain is no good and tries to make her see Jai is the right one, but Charity looks unsure.

Meanwhile, Chas tries to talk to Hazel, apologising for Aaron's behaviour. However, Hazel doesn't want to know - she and Aaron are not good for each other at the moment. Later, Aaron's quietly chuffed when Paddy asks him to be godfather to Leo, and Chas is pleased he is making progress. Aaron apologises to Hazel for snapping but feels guilty at how scared she is, and Hazel's left wondering what's going on.

Elsewhere, Andy tries to talk sense into Victoria and Alex but they realise Declan has sent him and he's thrown out, while Marlon's pressured when Rhona wants him to ask Laurel to be godmother.

    Friday

Rhona asks Laurel if she has made up her mind about being godmother. Laurel pretends to know what she is talking about and Ashley is delighted.

Later, Laurel feels awkward that Marlon has dedicated the cookery book to her. She explains to Marlon that it's wrong for her to be godmother and instantly regrets the excuse she gives Ashley over why she doesn't want to be. At the same time, Rachel guesses Laurel is Marlon's mystery woman…

Meanwhile, Andy tells Alex and Victoria that they have to leave Brook and loses it completely, saying that if they don't move he could lose his job and he can't because of Sarah. Alex and Victoria go to stay at the pub, but Andy is sacked regardless when he returns to work.

Elsewhere, Charity feels guilty as Jai says that he doesn't trust Cain but does trust her; Cameron's disappointed when Debbie says she's not been thinking about having another baby with everything that's been going on; and Aaron finally tells Hazel the truth, leaving her upset.
