    Red or Black?

Simon Cowell's new ITV1 gameshow Red or Black? has secured partnership from Domino's Pizza, in a deal rumoured to be worth more than £1m.

The Ant and Dec-hosted series will see contestants compete to win £1million in a series of games designed to test their luck. Filming began in London's Wembley Arena earlier this month, with celebrity appearances from Jedward and footballers Robin Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas.

According to The Guardian, sources claim that the £1m-plus on and off-air package will include TV, online and mobile sponsorship of the show, when it is broadcast across a week in the autumn.

"With its fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat format, we know that viewers are going to be glued to their screens and while they're deciding Red or Black? at home," Simon Wallis, sales and marketing director at Domino's, said. "The home is our point of sale so unmissable TV events such as Red or Black? create an ideal time for a product, such as pizza."

Simon Daglish, ITV's new director of multi-platforms and partnerships, commented: "Red or Black? is a hotly anticipated show for ITV and we are delighted to be working with a key partner in Domino's. This partnership has allowed ITV to work alongside Domino's and develop a multiplatform solution that will help deliver their marketing objectives across a range of touch points with the consumer. This collaboration is a great example of how ITV wants to work with its customers in the future."

Domino's previously sponsored Cowell's Britain's Got Talent, but was replaced by moneysupermarket.com for the most recent series.

It was previously reported that Syco and ITV Studios had failed in a bid to secure sponsorship from National Lottery operator Camelot.

Louis Walsh fires David Hasselhoff 230ft into sky on 'Red or Black?'
David Hasselhoff has been fired more than 200ft into the air in a reverse bungee as part of Ant & Dec's new ITV1 gameshow Red or Black?.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh pushes the detonators that send the former Baywatch star soaring 70 metres (230 feet) outside the front of Battersea Power Station.

Simon Cowell's £1 million giveaway gameshow features some of the most extravagant challenges ever seen on TV, which all have the same two possible outcomes - red or black.

Louis Walsh had six detonators to choose from on the challenge, three were red, three were black, but only one lit the fuse and fired Hasselhoff's reverse bungee.

Contestants on the show will be asked to choose which colour sets of the bungee. If they pick correctly they'll move through to the next stage and have a chance of winning £1 million.

Red or Black? will launch in September on ITV1.

Over the course of seven nights, seven people will face a life-defining moment as they are offered the chance to walk away with one million pounds. To win, all they need is luck on their side and to successfully choose the correct outcome, Red or Black? Guess wrong and they walk away with nothing.

The event kicked off at Wembley earlier this summer, which was transformed into the Red or Black? Arena. Presenters Ant & Dec presided over a host of spectacular stunts which saw world records broken and included one man’s giant leap from over 11 metres into a tiny paddling pool, two professional motocross drivers’ attempt to limbo at 19 feet above the ground and an extraordinary hurdling challenge conducted on the roof of moving cars.

The lucky contestants who made it through the Arena continued the Red or Black? experience at one of a number of locations around the country. Once again, all they needed to do was predict the outcome in more incredible challenges.

Filmed in some of the UK’s most iconic and famous landmarks, Red or Black? followed in the footsteps of Harry Potter at Alnwick Castle, fired The Hoff to a great height at Battersea Power Station, and challenged US Open winner Rory McIlroy and World number two Lee Westwood to get the ultimate ‘hole in one’ at Eastnor Castle.

If they had lady luck on their side they became one of the finalists to make it through to the last stage of the challenge, live in the studio. Every night for seven nights, Red or Black? could make one of them a millionaire.

Each night, for one finalist it will all come down to the spin of the Red or Black? wheel. We have followed them as just a face in the crowd at the Arena, from their nerve wracking decisions on locations, to the choices they have had to make live in the studio. As the lights dim and they walk towards the wheel, the question is asked for the final time, Red or Black?...but do they feel lucky?

Red or Black? is an ITV Studios and Syco production for ITV1.

Well that's me turning to another channel. If they have to bring new game show's on. Why kill it straight away by ramming it down our throats. TV getting worse by the months. It,s hard to find something to watch.

I don't understand why we need the same game show on every night for a week. Why not stretch it out over several Saturdays like other shows?

Too right Abigail - Appalling scheduling. Only masochists will be watching by the end of the week, because it's completely boring and dragged out for sooooo long that you don't care if anyone wins the money by the end. I'd have BET a million pounds that the first show would deliver a winner, so the potential for that part (and other parts) to be fixed is huge, and with "he who shall not be named" pulling the strings, a degree of manipulation is not beyond the realms of possibility!

The first £1 million winner of Simon Cowell's gameshow Red or Black? will apparently keep the prize money despite revelations he was jailed for beating up a woman.

The news came as ITV said it would be tightening background checks on contestants following the controversial win by Nathan Hageman.

The 31-year-old bricklayer was initially reported to have been jailed for attacking his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend, but it has since been revealed that he attacked a woman, thought to be his ex.

There has been pressure on the broadcaster to strip Hageman of his win, but reports indicate he will be paid the cash.

In a statement an ITV spokesman said: "ITV and Syco (Cowell's production company) have made thorough enquiries into Nathan Hageman's participation on Red or Black?.

“Whilst producers were aware that Nathan had served a prison sentence for assault they were not fully aware of facts which have since emerged. As a result of this ITV is reviewing the background checks on all remaining contestants in the show."

Two Red or Black? hopefuls have been axed after in-depth checks were carried out following £1m winner Nathan Hageman's conviction for actual bodily harm.

The bricklayer triumphed in the first live show over the weekend, but was later revealed to have served half of a five-year sentence for an attack. ITV said that it had been aware of the jail term, but did not know that the victim had been Hageman's ex-girlfriend.

Following heavy criticism, detailed checks were made on the contestants due to compete in the remaining four episodes. The Guardian reports that this has resulted in two being withdrawn from separate editions.

One of the axed contestants is believed to have held a criminal record, while it is not known if or what crime had been committed by the second.

"ITV has reviewed the background checks on remaining contestants from Red or Black?" a spokesperson said. "As a result of this we have asked producers to remove two contestants from this week's shows. Red or Black? will continue on these two occasions with seven, rather than eight, contestants.

"Red or Black? is a co-production between ITV Studios and Syco for ITV Network and all parties are working closely and collaboratively together to ensure that the show continues its success."

Simon Cowell will reportedly address the controversy surrounding Hageman's win at a press conference on Thursday.

Ant & Dec continue to host Red or Black? live on ITV1 from 8pm tonight.
