Hollyoaks sets up a huge summer storyline next week as Warren Fox's latest enemy causes further problems for him.

Warren's life is about to become a complete misery thanks to a mysterious gangster known only as 'Blue'.

Viewers recently saw Warren have a lucky escape as somebody tried to gun him down in the middle of the village. He only escaped with his life as he'd taken the precaution of wearing a bulletproof vest.

Warren subsequently fled from the village alongside Mercedes McQueen, fearing for his own safety after receiving a threat over the phone. However, the on-off couple make a return next week as Warren is determined to be around for Ste Hay's sentencing over Ella Richardson's death.

Warren and Mercedes wait at the club for news on how the case went. They're both surprised when Ste returns as a free man, as the case against him has collapsed due to a legal technicality.

Baffled over how this happened, Warren starts to worry that this is all part of the ongoing vendetta that someone has against him. He'd hoped that Ste would serve a prison sentence for causing the death of his daughter.

This theory proves to be correct as Ste later receives a strange message from the person who helped him to escape a jail sentence. The mystery individual signs himself off as 'Blue'.

Later, police detective Zoe Anderson arrives at The Loft and informs Warren that she's on the trail of 'Blue'.

'Blue' has been missing since 2017, but Zoe suspects he is connected with the recent shooting as they have found coloured paint on the bullet.

The dates tie in with Freddie's prison stint, but could he be the mysterious 'Blue' or is it someone else?

Digital Spy can confirm that the Blue mystery will run over the summer, building up to the huge changes ahead for Hollyoaks in September when the show jumps forward by a year.

Hollyoaks bad boy Warren Fox is set to return to the soap again ? this time in a different context.

The character bowed out of the soap in 2024, though made a cameo appearance last month as part of a flashback episode that gave an insight into the show's missing year following a time jump.

It is now being reported by a source in The Sun that star Jamie Lomas will return to the soap again for a brief stint ? but rather than a flashback, he will appear in the present day.

The site reports that he will make his comeback later this month, and the circumstances around his comeback are under wraps for now.

Warren fled the country last year following a showdown with Dave Chen-Williams amid the Blue gangster storyline.

Jamie has played Warren on-and-off for nearly two decades, with his last full-time stint spanning four years.

Last year, the actor welcomed a baby daughter called Bella Nevaeh with his fianc?e Jess Bell, the star opening up at the time about his partner's two-day labour.

"I just felt a bit helpless. Everyone was rushing around and I was just standing there asking, 'What can I do?' I was in awe of Jess," Jamie recalled to OK! Magazine. "It's such an emotional thing, though, your daughter being born. I cried for my other kids too."

He added: "Things have been a little chaotic, as you can imagine, but we're so happy she's here. We've had a few visitors, including my sister Charley [Webb], it's been amazing."

Hollyoaks' former power couple Mercedes McQueen and Warren Fox are in for a shock reunion when she realises Freddie Roscoe has been lying to her.

In upcoming scenes, the E4 soap will see Warren's return after he previously left the village. In a flashback that aired last month, Warren returned to Chester during the time jump to reunite with Mercedes.

The baddie had written her a letter that was intercepted by Freddie, who hid it from Mercedes.

In episodes airing the week commencing on 2 June, Mercedes is concerned about Freddie. When rummaging in his memory box, she's stunned to find a letter addressed to her from Warren.

Mercedes confronts Freddie about it and decides to meet with Warren, as he originally intended.

The two exes meet on the city walls in emotional scenes in which Warren learns of Mercedes' bowel cancer diagnosis.

Warren tries to remind Mercedes they have history, but will she give in to the pull of the past, or will she stay loyal to Freddie?

Elsewhere on the soap, Frankie Osborne and Dillon Ray's exploitation story is reaching an action-packed conclusion.

Frankie star Isabelle Smith previously told Digital Spy that viewers will see the same fierce side to Frankie they saw during her and JJ's harrowing sibling sexual abuse storyline.

"I think we've seen this side of Frankie before, when she spoke up about everything that had happened with JJ. We know that she's got fight in her. When it comes to it, she can stand up for herself," the soap star said about the upcoming resolution of the grooming story with Grace Black and DI Banks.

"Frankie sees the danger that her friends are in, so she takes it upon herself to make the first move in trying to protect them. She's not necessarily thinking of herself ? she's thinking about how she can get her friends out and make everything better in this situation?"
