Emmerdale to face schedule change in Britain's Got Talent week

Emmerdale fans can expect a schedule change later this month as both ITV soaps make way for Britain's Got Talent.

The long-running show has been airing in a new timeslot since March, when it shifted from 7pm to 7.30pm on a permanent basis due to ITV extending its Evening News.

Later this month, the schedule changes again for one week only as the Britain's Got Talent live semi-final shows return.

Across the week commencing Monday, May 30, Emmerdale returns to the earlier timeslot of 7pm.

This is followed by a nightly visit to Coronation Street at 7.30pm and a two-hour Britain's Got Talent show at 8pm.

As there isn't an hour-long Thursday edition like usual, it means that we'll be getting 30 minutes less action from the Dales that week.

A number of the show's ongoing storylines ? including Faith Dingle's cancer, Leyla Cavanagh's drugs secret and Charity Dingle's struggles with her son Noah ? will be taking centre stage across the week.

Meanwhile, Corrie airs every weeknight across BGT week with a big set of episodes, as the ongoing custody dispute between Imran Habeeb and Abi Webster comes to a head.

John Whiston, MD Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North, recently said: "The pigeons really do come home to roost for some of Corrie's best loved characters in this fantastic week of edge of your seat drama.

"Secrets unravel, truths hurt and lives well and truly turn upside down as the lengths Imran went to, to take baby Alfie away from Abi are revealed. Whether your sympathies are with Abi, with Toyah or with Imran, this is not a week to be missed."
