MONDAY
Rhona Goskirk is pleased with the progress she and her mum Mary have made.
When Mary arrived in the village unexpectedly Rhona took her in, secretly looking forward to the moment Mary packed her bags left. But Rhona soon learned her mum was going nowhere.
However, Mary's arrival ended up being a blessing in disguise for Rhona had another pair of hands to help out with the running of the family home ? and with Marlon's care following his stroke.
Having always had a rocky relationship, the mum and daughter have found themselves bonding over the weeks and are in a pretty good place.
But Mary's got a bombshell which could threaten the fragile status quo at Smithy.
During a conversation with Kim, Mary ends up getting really upset over something. As Kim probes, Rhona's mum reveals she's gay and admits she's heartbroken over a lost love.
Kim's supportive and urges Mary to talk to her daughter, who has no idea her mum is hiding a secret about her sexuality.
Will Mary have an honest chat with Rhona?
At the cafe, Cathy's heart lurches when Samson suggests they go together to a party they've been invited to. She's got a major crush on the Dingle lad so when he goes on to add that it's a mates' date, she's absolutely gutted.
Elsewhere, Laurel surprises herself when she admits she's ready to move on from Jai and start dating.
TUESDAY
An evening out with her best mate and sister turns into a terrifying nightmare for Nicola King.
Having had fun with Laurel and Bernice, married Nicola leaves the single ladies to it and heads home to her husband Jimmy.
But as Nicola heads to the car she's approached by a group of teenage girls. They're drunk and want Nicola to buy them some more booze.
In her usual withering way, forthright Nicola tells the girls it's not going to happen and is aghast when they mug her, push her to the ground and start kicking her?
The attacked mum is left in a bloodied heap on the floor of the carpark!
Will anyone find Nicola and get help?
At Smithy, nervous Mary needs to tell Rhona that she's gay but she can't seem to find the right moment to bring it up with her busy daughter.
Mary eventually comes out with it.
As Rhona learns that her mum had fallen in love with her neighbour Louise, who recently died, the vet starts to question her upbringing and angrily wonders aloud if her entire childhood was built on a lie.
Hurt by her daughter's reaction, will Mary manage to fill in the blanks? Is her renewed relationship with Rhona about to regress?
Moira's put in a tough spot when Cain returns home from Scotland unexpectedly and finds his mum Faith at Butler's.
Like most of the Dingles Cain's unaware that Faith's cancer has returned and is terminal. He's furious to see his mum in his home with his wife.
Knowing the terrible truth of the matter, Moira's mortified by her husband's words as Cain tears into Faith, interpreting the effects of her chemo to be the signs of another hangover.
Will Faith continue keeping quiet or is it time to talk?
WEDNESDAY
Having been beaten up by a group of teenage girls, Nicola King is recovering in hospital. When she wakes, Jimmy's sat by her bedside, desperate to find out what happened to his injured wife.
But Nicola's deeply humiliated about what happened and pretends she can't remember who hurt her.
However, the truth of the matter later emerges when Gabby finds a video of the attack online. And it doesn't take long for Jimmy to realise why Nicola kept schtum.
Admitting that she thought she was going to die, Nicola's convinced her attackers are going to use her driving licence to find out where she lives and come looking for her.
At Butler's, Faith's been turfed out by furious Cain who has no idea his mum's cancer has returned and is terminal.
In on Faith's secret, Moira's mortified by what Cain said to Faith and apologises on her husband's behalf.
As village nurse Wendy steps in to help Faith, who's recuperating from chemo, she knows she can't carry on keeping her loved ones in the dark.
Later, Faith asks Chas to arrange a birthday party for her at the Woolie hoping the occasion will give her the chance to make amends with her son who just can't get past what happened during his upbringing.
Elsewhere, Rhona's still spinning over her mum's bombshell that she's gay and was in love with her neighbour, Louise. Mary's stung when her daughter takes it upon herself to out her to anyone who's listening?
THURSDAY
The Woolpack is the scene of an excruciating exchange between Cain Dingle and his mum Faith.
Faith is all geared up to tell her family that her cancer has returned and is terminal. She's been waiting for the right time, which hasn't appeared, so her birthday it is.
Chas and Bear have decked out the pub with bunting and balloons, and Moira ? who knows her mother-in-law's sad secret ? is in charge of getting Cain there.
Faith's really stressed about Cain. He has a terrible opinion of his mum, and she's worried that him being tricked into attending her party is only going to make matters worse.
She's right of course.
When Cain turns up and realises what's going on he's absolutely livid.
As a chilling silence brings the chatter to a hush, the mechanic announces he has a birthday wish for Faith? that she would drop dead!
Biting the bullet, Faith reveals her son's wish is going to come true sooner rather than later as she's got cancer again and it's terminal.
Will Cain apologise for his outburst and find a way to start talking to his mum before it's too late?
At Smithy a monumental moment takes place as Marlon takes his first step since his stroke!
It's slow progress but the chef is definitely moving forwards - quite literally, with the aid of walking frame.
Later, Marlon wakes from his nap to find Rhona with an excited look in her eye.
How will he react when she pops the question (again)?

FRIDAY
It's been a long lonely road for Laurel Thomas since her husband Ashley died in 2017.
Since then the single mum has had relationships with two village men, Bob Hope and Jai Sharma. But neither relationship worked out in the long run.
Laurel went through the mill with Jai who broke her trust when he secretly took out a loan in her name and to top it off she then discovered he'd lied to her about a near relapse.
Though Laurel was hoping to give things another go with fellow recovering addict Jai, she realised she couldn't take the risk again for herself, or for her kids.
But during an emotional confession, Laurel opens up about her love life and admits she's had enough of being on her own and is ready to try dating again!
