Leona Lewis discusses album progress
Leona Lewis has revealed that she is "more than halfway through" recording her new album.
The X Factor star has laid down about 20 tracks for her follow-up to 2007's Spirit, due later this year.
"I'm really, really positive about it. This far in, I'm feeling it even more [than last time]," she told DS.
Lewis also confirmed that she has been working with Justin Timberlake on several tracks for the as-yet-untitled record.
"He's so awesomely talented. He's been producing and he's got vocals on some my tracks too," she said.
Leona 'planning massive two-year tour'
Leona Lewis has revealed plans for a massive world tour after releasing her second studio album.
The star confirmed that she will kick off a series of live dates next year and expects to tour well into the following year.
"I'll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can't wait," she told the Daily Star.
The 24-year-old added that the direction of her second album will perfectly complement her live shows.
"The music has a different feel this time. It’s more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It's something that I'll be able to perform live," she said.
Leona Lewis is 'Echo'-ing back
Simon Cowell protégée Leona Lewis has decided on a title and release date for her new album. Echo, the follow-up to Lewis' platinum-plus 2008 debut, Spirit, is due Nov. 17.
"An echo describes a big, organic sound," Lewis says of her choice.
Lewis is recording in various cities, including New York and Los Angeles. Though one track called Don't Let Me Down has leaked online, neither the lineup of songs nor the list of contributors has been finalized. "I'm working with incredible songwriters and producers, and my music has really evolved," Lewis says.
Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote and produced Lewis' chart-topping breakthrough hit, Bleeding Love, is one confirmed collaborator, and a number of top artists have joined her in the studio, including Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and producer Timbaland.
Leona 'worried about album failure'
Leona Lewis is reportedly worried that her next album will be a failure.
The X Factor winner is said to be working hard on her upcoming record Echo to stop it "bombing" in the charts.
"Leona knows she's going to have to work harder with Echo to equal, never mind better, the success of Spirit," a source told Look magazine. "She wouldn't want to be a one-album wonder."
The insider also claimed that Lewis is anxious that she has lost her UK fanbase after spending time in America.
"There are plenty of reality TV stars who've been successful with their first album but bombed with their second," they explained.
"The problem is that when Leona first appeared, there was no-one else like her. But things are different now. She has some serious competition and it's preoccupying her entirely. It's as if she can't think of anything else.
"I think this fixation with Alex [Burke] and JLS is fuelling her obsession to make Echo a massive hit. She must feel like she has a huge mountain to climb to achieve the success she did three years ago."
No need to worry Le Le, if Happy is anything to go by then im sure the album will be great
