Everyone nervous?!
A Levels come out on the 16th, and GCSEs are out on the 23rd.
I'm nervous about how i've done in Politics, because that has a high level of intake for year 13, so you've got to do well to get back onto the course. They're strict on that at my 6th form.
You can share al your results in this thread as well when they come out, too. The other threads for exams are kind of big now.
Yes i'm nervous but kinda excited too as i desperately want to know how i've done.
I want to take English Literature, Drama and ICT next year so i'll be really interested in how i've done in them - i would love to have As in all of the subjects i want to take next year but i won't..ah well..:p
Same here, I'm looking forward to finding out what I've got but I'm really nervous at the same time. I just hope I've done ok, especially in the subjects I want to take at college. Good luck to everyone getting results :D
I'm nervous, but not that bad, as i seem to keep forgetting!
I really want to know how i've done in Drama,English,Maths and i want to know how badly i failed Science and Business Studies!
I'm more intrigued about how i did in certain courseworks mind...!
I am bricking it, because i am not here i have to do it all over the internet and not at college, but i dont really have much say in that matter.
I need all these passwords and nmbers and everything to find out from UCAS then once my results our out, i have to see if i have been accepted, if not i have to start on clearing. I can't wait for it all to be over to be honest.
I dont want to go - full stop. I know I haven't done good, and I don't want to look at my results sheet.
I'm tempted not to even open the sheet and just burn it, my uni will be in touch to let me know if I've got in, so i dont need to know results.
I know I've under-performed, that's just to my lack of motivation and enthusiasm for the subjects, I was originally predicted As, now I'll be lucky if I scrape Cs and Ds.

Fifteen hours until AS results. I'm so nervous, my stomach is doing somersaults and I feel like crying. I know I've failed miserably and I'll get nowhere near my targets grades which are all B's.

You should do Human Biology if you want a proper workout. I loved to spend my Friday mornings learning how water flows in a plant for hours on end and comparing the structure on insulin and collagen :confused: On the positive side, if you like to dissect pigs' hearts, lungs and liver and torture water fleas with ethanol then this is the course for you.Quote:

It is general studies for the clever people. Basically if you got really high GCSE grades they make you do this subject. It's enforced on you, whether you want to do it or not.Quote:

It's mainly about constructing/analysing arguments. I thought I'd fail it, so to get a C is a complete suprise and probably my biggest achievement.

So my plan is this: Drop geog, because i would have to gain 12 marks to get a B overall. I'm gonna retake my English coursework, so i can bump it from a B to an A. That will take my grade to B. I'm gonna retake my Electoral systems and voting behaviour in Politics, to get up to a B. And i'm gonna retake one of my ICT units. I only need 4 marks to get an A.
So basically, do 3 retakes, and end up with ABB.
Really, i'm not sure what to think about my exams. I wanted to drop ICT, because i hate it, but as its my best subject, i'm not going to. I like geog, but the coursework saved me, and next year we dont do any, so theres no point me doing it, because i'll just fail A2.
So yeah, BCCC, but i'll get it up to ABB. Trust me ;)

Thanks! Yeah, Geography was a hard one this year. English wasn't that much better. Apparently Biology was bad this year as well, not sure on the exam board for that though.
I cant stand these reports on the TV about the amount of A grades. They've twisted the stats so badly! Yes, a lot of people get A grades, but generally, the same people get them. So 1 person might get 3 As. The news makes it sound like everyone does!
And they dont pick the schools which are in average areas, do they? Come to my school, and if you get 1 A, its bloody amazing! Go to a grammer school, or somewhere rich, and of course you'll see hundreds of them! :lweek:
Well done Abi - they are great results! Just watched the news and they said that a 1/4 of A level students this year got straight As.
yeah georgraphy/geology/biology always seem to be the hardest to get a good grade in. anyone thinking of doing them please reconsider!Quote:

to be fair no subject is a walk in the park, i know a lot of people that worked damn hard to get their results, and all this news about A levels being easy really pisses me off, it's hard work, and it's all very well them picking results out and manipulating the evidence, but if they sat down and tried i'd like them to see how "easy" it is to get an A grade.
exactly, them ones they just had on the news were all from Kings, which is a well established college, and they all sounded posh as if they'd been to grammar schools. grrr the media annoy me sometimes!

just got a text off my friend who got 4 As at AS level! wow, I'm shocked!
