hiya
I need help:searchme:, i'm trying to get the text transparent on my banners.
Leanne managed to do one:

its only the text that hasnt got a transparent background the rest has

Ermm, don't know if this will work - as I haven't tried it.. but have you tried..
When you click new, when you're putting the attributes in, theres a box thing where you can pick "transparent" or something else.... make sure it's on transparent...
If you've tried it then I don't know. If you don't get me, then I'll open up my PSP to explain better...
You did mean PSP didn't you?
Ive tried that, and i have psp and photoshop so whatever, I just want it to work lol

Make sure you click on the bottom one to the two, plus i'm not sure it works for all the fonts, so you might wanna check that out too, i can't remember.
Or another way (if Dawn's doesn't work).
I just had a go.. and when you've done the banner..instead of "merge all", do "merge down".. if you get me? If not, just say..

explain exactly what your trying to do?
Is it that you want the inside of your text so that you can see the picture behind it?

Vicky that isnt what i want lol, it just looked like it cos it was on a white background,
and im trying to cap it to show you the difference lol but stupid photobucket is taking yonks to load and my prnt screen button wont work

Sorry we couldn't be of more help, i really thought i'd got it with that last one, but never mind.
I dont have PSP, but i think its to do with the format you save it in.
I'm guessing you're saving it as a GIF. When you export it, there should be an option to save it as "Index Transparency", whereas at the minute, it would say something like "No Transparency". No transparency means the stuff you've set as being transparent, will automatically go white. Select Index Transparency, and set the colour to transparent, and it should work.
Never know, might work. If you've got the background on your actual banner as Transparent, then its got to be the way you are saving it that is the problem.
i'm saving them as a JPG file and ive been making them on photoshop, im only trying the ones dawn and lea have said on psp

edit - the screencap has gone wrong aswell, i'm guessing your right abi and it must be how im saving it
edit 2 - just looked at the one leanne made me that works and that is a gif so maybe i need to save it as them instead
JPG files dont support transparency. Save it as a GIF, TIFF or PNG and it should work.
Thank you so much Abi, there was me thinknig it was gonna be something im doing wrong and i was saving it in the wrong file type lol
leanne spent ages earlier trying to see how she did it and all it was she saved it a different way
so lets test it lol and see if it has gone right

Hiya, sorry to post in the thread about this again, except im having the same problem as I was before, except it is even happening when I save it as a gif, which is what solved the problem before, you cant notice on this site as it is white anyway, but with my current banner, and all my other recent ones in that style have been coming out not transparent, and i only noticed when i went to use one on another site (they have a grey background) and the white showed up
