CORRIE SPOILERS 22nd - 26th AUGUST

A difficult week for Bethany will kick off after she realises that Craig Tinker has innocently posted a picture online, showing her sprawled on the grass after breaking the garden swing.

Craig's actions unwittingly prompt Bethany to take even more of her diet pills, but the effects start to take hold when she later heads out to do more exercise.

Gary Windass (Mikey North) is overseeing Craig's induction at the gym when Bethany suddenly collapses, having been pounding away on the running machine.

A worried Gary immediately rushes to Bethany's aid and she soon regains consciousness, but she swears him to secrecy over the incident,

Bethany assures Gary that she is fine and pleads with him not to say anything, but will he change his mind when he discovers the pills she has been taking?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, August 24 at 7.30pm on ITV.

Coronations street is about a whole street full of characters and all of them have some sort of storylines throughout the week.

This is just the one storyline. As swmc66 said, there's plenty of characters in the programme. I'm sure they'll make an appearance at some point in the week.

Oh no Sharif has been having an affair. How disapointing. Oh and when your friend splits up with a nice guy the first thing you think of is to find another man for her. Surely you would try and get them back together and discourage rebound relationships!!

Monday (1)

Eva begs Leanne to reconsider her decision to leave, but Leanne is adamant that a fresh start is what she needs. Eva quietly suggests to Simon that he should hide the coach tickets. Leanne then calls in the Bistro to say her goodbyes. Nick is gutted to realise she's moving to Liverpool for good but tells her if things don't work out, she knows where he is.

Michelle also tells Leanne that she'll be sorry to see her go and reveals that she's pregnant. Feigning surprise, Leanne congratulates her. Relieved she's going, Steve wishes Leanne luck.

Having said an emotional goodbye to Eva and Ken, Leanne and Simon leave for the coach station. However, when Eva gets a call from Leanne telling her that she's lost her tickets and had to rebook a later coach, Eva forms another plan. Cornering Nick, she reveals that Leanne has missed her coach, explaining that Leanne loves him deeply but feels she can't be honest with him as she's expecting a baby...

Meanwhile, as a celebration of Kylie's birthday, David buys a garden swing for Max and Lily. Having built the swing, the family watch in amusement as Bethany tries it out and the swing collapses, leaving Bethany in a heap on the grass. Craig takes a photo and posts it online. Later, Bethany receives a parcel containing some diet pills and quickly stuffs them in her bag.

Elsewhere, Sharif and Yasmeen arrive home and are utterly thrilled to find their grandchildren have arranged a surprise 45th wedding anniversary party. Sharif makes a speech and announces to Yasmeen that he's booked a holiday - the honeymoon they never had. However, he's interrupted by the arrival of their old friend Sonia, who clearly upset and explains that her husband has thrown her out. While a concerned Yasmeen heads off to make Sonia a cup of tea, grim-faced Sharif makes it clear that he's unimpressed by her surprise visit.


Also today, Michelle books an appointment at the doctors to discuss her pregnancy and insists Steve must accompany her. Steve reluctantly agrees.


Monday (2)

Eva implores Nick to go after Leanne and stop her from leaving, but Nick is in turmoil as he tries to digest the news of Leanne's pregnancy. Having purchased another lot of coach tickets, Leanne discovers the first lot in Simon's rucksack and realises with a heavy heart that he doesn't want to leave.

As Leanne and Simon board the coach for Liverpool, Simon secretly phones Nick. Simon then forces Leanne to admit that Nick is the love of her life. Having overheard their exchange, Nick comes to a decision. As the coach readies to leave, Nick scrambles on board and begs Leanne not to go, telling her that he knows about the baby. Leanne is stunned, but will the pair admit their love for each other?

Meanwhile, Bethany receives a text and is horrified to realise that Craig has posted the photo of her sprawled on the grass online. She rails at him for drawing attention to the fact she's "fat". Craig is mortified and assures her that she's beautiful, but Bethany refuses to listen. Convinced she's fat, Bethany secretly pops two of her diet pills.

Elsewhere, Yasmeen fusses round Sonia and insists she must stay for as long as she likes, but Sharif is clearly stressed. As the guests leave, Yasmeen thanks Rana for organising such a wonderful party. Grabbing a moment alone with Sharif, Sonia assures him their 7-year affair still remains a secret and he has nothing to worry about. Telling Sharif how lucky she is, Yasmeen kisses him fondly. Sonia watches and Alya clocks her obvious jealousy.

Also today, in a bid to avoid moving in with her, Aidan suggests to Eva that they should leave it a few weeks in case Leanne changes her mind and returns home.

Finally, as the doctor advises Michelle on her pregnancy, Steve takes a keen interest and suggests they attend ante-natal classes together.


Wednesday

Bethany furtively pops some more diet pills. When Sarah mentions her forthcoming exam results, Bethany covers her unease. While Gary oversees Craig's induction at the gym, Bethany pounds away on a running machine and suddenly collapses.

When Bethany regains consciousness, she assures Gary she's fine. Gary is not convinced and confronts her after finding her diet pills. Bethany snatches them from him and storms off.

Meanwhile, Eva explains to Aidan that Leanne has ditched her Liverpool plans, so he won't be able to move in after all. Aidan feigns disappointment. Nick calls on Leanne and asks her who the father of the baby is. Leanne lies, making out that she had a one night stand with a stranger.

Later, Nick takes Leanne to the hospital and attends her first scan with her. Tracy is intrigued when she clocks Nick and Leanne leaving the maternity unit. Reaching a decision, Nick tells Leanne how much he loves her, but is he willing to be a part of the baby's life?

Elsewhere, offering to help Gail with the kids, Michael takes Max to The Kabin. While Michael pays for Max's comic, he clocks Max stealing a toy. Max explains to Michael that he took the toy as his mum always used to buy him a present on Lily's birthday. Making Max promise that he won't steal again, Michael agrees it can be their secret. Later, when Michael assures Gail he no longer has feelings for Eileen, will Gail agree to give their relationship another go?

Also today, as Sonia half-heartedly searches the paper for a flat, Yasmeen assures her that she's welcome to stay as long as she likes and Sharif is forced to agree. Sharif tells Sonia that while he cares about her, he's not willing to risk his marriage. How will Sonia react to this?


Friday (1)

Eva, Aidan and Simon are thrilled to realise that Nick stayed the night and he and Leanne are officially back together. Nick suggests that Leanne and Simon should move into his flat as hers is so cramped. Nick assures Leanne that he wants to be a dad to both Simon and the baby and reckons they should lie and pretend the baby is his. Leanne promises to think about it.

Later, Nick and Leanne call at The Rovers and join the Platts. When Nick announces that he and Leanne are back together and she and Simon will be moving in with him, Gail reckons he's taken leave of his senses. While the Platts argue about Nick's bombshell, Tracy approaches and asks Leanne when the baby's due. All eyes turn to Leanne and Steve watches, with his heart in his mouth...

Meanwhile, concerned about Bethany's health, Gary drags her to the café and insists they need to talk. Bethany promises him that she's disposed of her diet pills, but Gary can see her troubles go deeper than that. Sarah finds Bethany in deep discussion with Gary. Worried that Gary is about to reveal her health problems, Bethany quickly shoves the envelope containing her exam results at Sarah and warns her that she's done really badly.

Elsewhere, jittery Aidan calls in the salon and apologises to Maria for his recent behaviour, suggesting they just act normal around each other. Later, Maria reluctantly attends a gym class with Kate and Sophie. When Eva joins them, Maria does her best to mask her discomfort.

Also, Vinny calls at Number 11, demanding his £65,000 to get the development project off the ground. He's quick to realise that Phelan plans to screw the money out of Eileen. As Eileen arrives back from Thailand, Phelan ushers Vinny out of the door.


Friday (2)

As Leanne is forced to announce her pregnancy, Steve sweats.

With all eyes on Leanne, she's at breaking point - but what will she say about the baby's father?

Meanwhile, Sarah is gutted to discover that Bethany has failed three exams and blames herself for being such a useless mother. Bethany promises she'll retake them. Lauren tracks Bethany down to the gym and makes cruel jibes about her weight. Gary watches as Lauren continues to taunt Bethany. Bethany finally snaps and punches Lauren. Bethany begs Gary not to tell Sarah about the bullying. Gary agrees on condition they report Lauren to the school.

Elsewhere, Eva quizzes Maria about her break-up with Luke and tells her that if she ever wants to talk, she'll be there for her. Maria feels terrible. Telling Aidan what a lovely girl Maria is, Eva resolves to find her a new man. Aidan inwardly squirms.

Also, having found Kylie's special pebble, Michael suggests to Max that he should keep it in a memory box together with other bits and pieces which remind him of his mum. Gail thanks Michael, touched by his thoughtfulness.

Finally, Eileen tells Phelan that Jason has come to a decision about investing in his development project. Is he in?

I was just catching up on this thread and a minute ago i was thinking maybe she was his secret lovechild. I suppose we have to get used to writers coming up with something out of the blue with no build up what so ever!!
