He won't be having one for the remainder of Oates tenure, and then it will depend on if the new producer likes the character or not.
I'd like to see more of him, not necessarily with a major sl but at least interacting with Vic and his brothers more.
We can live in hope :)
Agree they should do more with Finn, I don't see why having Aaron/Robert around & involved with each other means the producers can't give Finn a relationship or story lines along side them, Kate Oates seems to view him as a not much more than comedy character. These skits with Jimmy are ridiculous & rarely funny, I miss his relationship with Val though & why did they go to all that trouble of building up Finn/Darren only to end it just like that for such silly a reason it was a waste of time. Lets see what the new producer does with him.
Finn has been wasted the writers treat Finn as just a comic character yet he has no substance. The Darren storyline had the possibility of being interesting yet the writers wasted it. Finn has so much potential stop keeping him perfect get Finn new gay friends or something.

He needs to talk to the producers and writers.
I disagree Finn has already supported the other barton storylines he needs his own storyline and a good one. The show sending wrong message that a show can only have one gay storyline on the show. Although I will say Lawrence storyline is interesting I wish Finn would get with Lawrence.

I agree I think that Kate brought some story lines to the show but I'm looking forward to the new producer.
I hope things get better for him in his character.
I think Finn has too much of a baby face for ED to put him with someone of Larry's generation.
There doesn't seem to be any major storylines for Finn Barton at the moment. He is just included in minor scenes as one of the characters within the general comedy set (Jimmy, Nicola, Rodney, Kerry, Bernice, Marlon and Paddy).
Finn graduated from university around 2013 but has since stayed in Emmerdale in mainly unskilled paid work. One reason for not leaving Emmerdale for a better life is known to be shortage of money. I'm guessing that he may have an outstanding student loan too. He has had various gay relationships and one-night-stands with mainly young men (Simon, Brad, Aaron) up to 2014 but no-one during 2015 as of yet. However, he did previously have short-lived crushes on the older straight characters of David (then 31yo in 2013) and Declan (then 45-46yo in 2014) but these didn't last for long. With this history, it seems unlikely that Finn would be sexually attracted to Lawrence. Except for Robert, there doesn't seem to be anyone of the right type for Finn to have a relationship with within Emmerdale so a young man from outside Emmerdale is needed for a workable storyline lasting for more than the short-term.

Finlay "Finn" Barton is the son of James and Emma Barton and the brother of Ross and Pete Barton and half-brother of Adam Barton. He has close relationships especially with Victoria Sugden and Eric Pollard and his late wife Val Pollard, who he works for at The Grange.
Finn arrived in the village with James and Pete after his father, James, lost their own farm in December 2013. He currently temporarily lives with his aunt Moira Barton and her husband Cain Dingle, along with his father and three brothers.
Finn has recently finished a three-year Economics degree at university. In January 2014, he started work as a cleaner at The Grange, but instantly took a dislike to the job. After initially trying to get the sack, he began to develop a strong relationship with both Val and Eric and grew to tolerate working there, but aimed to save to move to Japan for a career in teaching.
In late April he used Declan's credit card for a night out in the casino. Ross lost £50 in gambling. The next day Declan finds out when Finn tells him he used his credit card.
In late May he dates with a man called Simon. They meet up in the pub when Finn said at the bus stop. Whilst in the pub the two kiss. Finn tells him he would love to go with Simon but he couldn't. In Simon's car they kiss again.
Having no memory of his mother, Emma Barton, due to her walking out following an argument with James when he was a baby, Finn found himself with unanswered questions on his birthday in June 2014 when he and Victoria found videos of him and his brothers, Pete and Ross as kids. Showing the videos at Finn's birthday party, Finn and his guests were horrified to discover the footage switching to an argument between James and Emma about James's affair with his brother John's wife, Moira Dingle. Realising there were more skeletons in the closet, Finn realised that Moira and James' night together had brought him a half brother - Adam Barton, who was also James' son. Later after drowning his sorrows with a bottle of vodka, Finn frets that he can't go home to Pete acting like everything's normal when it's not. He panics that he doesn't know who he is and that his mum is the only person that can help him see sense, which makes him sick.
In late July he dates with a bloke called Brad. Whilst Finn is away doing something Brad spikes a drug into Finn's drink. Afterwards Finn, feeling woozy, reacted to the drug. When he and Brad get in the car Finn nearly collapsed. Brad drives Finn to a barn, switched the engine off wiped fingerprints on the wheel, restarted the engine and left the barn leaving an unconscious Finn in the car. Later Pete and Cain hear the engine and they open the barn up to find an unconscious Finn still in the front seat. They drag him out of the car and Pete and Cain take Finn to hospital. Cain phones James and he arrives at the hospital with Moira, Chas, Victoria and the Barton boys. Ross tells James he will never forgive him if Finn doesn't wake up. With James by his side Finn wakes up and James tells Finn that everything is going to be alright. Finn tells his father and brothers that he and Brad were at the pub and then they went back to the b and b. He also tells them that Brad's going to Japan. Finn apologises to his father and brothers and James tells him that traces of a drug were found in his system. When James tells him what it's called Finn panics into thinking Brad raped him. He frets that he wasn't told why he ended up in hospital only knowing it was for carbon monoxide poisoning. James tells him that the car he was found in was stolen. Later Finn is examined and he asks Victoria to stay by his side. Victoria tells him to think of 5 of the worst things Val said at the Grange. Later the doctor tells Finn that he wasn't raped.
Finn comes home the next day. Ross discovers that Gary North ordered Brad to put Finn in hospital. Finn tells Ross that Brad locked him in a barn and tried to kill him, and that Pete's worried sick thinking he got the blame. He panics that people will think he tried to kill himself and that Brad might come back and finish him off properly. He then finds out that he ended up in hospital because of Ross. This hurts Finn. It frightens him when he finds out that the police tell him over the phone they are stopping searching for Brad. After what has gone on Finn feels alone.
In early August, Pete discovers that Finn is looking at a missing person's site. Upset he looks at a chat page for news about his missing mother. Eric suggested that he should talk to James about his mother. Later in the month he tells Victoria that his mum sent him a message on Finding Family. He is angry when he finds out that Victoria told James that he was looking for his mother. He deletes the profile that he set up to find his mother but he cancels it. When he refuses to give Megan Macey the room number he gets angry and is forced to open the room up. Megan filmed it on her phone and when they got in the room they a box on the bed with a cat in it thinking it belongs to Charity.
In September, whilst going to a fancy dress do with Victoria, Jimmy catches him in the street wearing braces, cool shades and a bow tie. Jimmy offers to buy them from Finn for £25 but Finn offers for £50. Later in the month he and Aaron Livesy spend the night together. The morning after, he tells Aaron that Eric is going to kill him if he's late for work. Victoria accuses Aaron of having a go at her the night before jumping into bed with Finn. When Ross tells Finn he needs to escape from the village, he's angry to find out that Aaron slept with him. He confronts Aaron over him sleeping with Finn. Finn pines for Aaron, but Aaron has no real interest in him, other than using an unknowing Finn to make Robert Sugden jealous. Finn eventually resents the treatment and moves on. Loneliness leads Finn and Victoria to kiss, which makes them both feel awkward.
2015-
In January 2015, Finn tracks down his mother, and he and Ross eventually convince her to be a part of their lives.
In February, Val is rushed to hospital due to not taking proper care of her HIV. Her nurse, Darren Thompson, is interested in Finn, and they begin to date. Val is alarmed to learn he is HIV-positive and goes to great lengths to scare him away from Finn, including leaving him hateful text messages and smashing up his car. She eventually sorts things out, but Finn soon finds Darren to be suffocating and goes to great lengths to make Darren dump him. When Darren eventually tells him he was looking for a reason to dump him as he wanted to reunite with his ex, Finn is mortified and regrets how he has behaved.
As the months pass, Finn is consumed by family problems. He has some regret over bringing Emma into his life, as he learns she tried to kill Ross when he was a toddler, and he discovers multiple instances of her obsessive meddling in James' life and relationship with Chastity Dingle. He also learns of Ross' affair with Debbie Dingle, only keeping the secret to protect Pete from heartbreak. He tells Ross that he is no longer his brother and the family was better off without him.
In August 2015, on the day of Pete and Debbie's wedding, a helicopter crashes into the village hall and Finn is pulled free from the wreckage by his parents. Val is killed, devastating Finn. In a video she recorded during her bout with pneumonia, Val calls Finn her favourite and jokes that she wants him to tattoo her name over his heart with her ashes mixed in the ink. He helps her sister Diane Sugden carry out her final wishes. Emma becomes concerned when Ross goes missing and Finn helps her search morgues and hospitals for him. Ross later shows up and reveals that Pete left him for dead. At first the family shun Pete, but Finn tries to reach out to his brother.
In October 2015, Finn is given an interesting bet by Jimmy King (Nick Miles), who proposes that if Finn can perform any dare he or his sister-in-law Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) have given him, then he will pay him £100. Jimmy formulates almost unthinkable dares for Finn, thinking he will easily earn the £100 from Finn in order to fix his own financial problems. However, Finn, undertaking dares such as wearing a dress, waxing his thighs, and drinking a blended English breakfast, appears to show no mercy to these challenges, making Jimmy nervous. Jimmy's final dare for Finn was to reenact a performance of his daughter's favourite film, Frozen. Bernice's daughter suggests they double the bet to £200 and both parties agree. When Finn performs the 2013 film Frozen, Jimmy informs him he has lost the bet as his daughter's favourite film was intact the 2007 film Frozen. Finn tells Jimmy he has been conned, but Jimmy stands firm and Finn produces his money.

Emmerdale's Finn Barton will prove that trouble really does run in the family next week when he makes an unlikely move.
The usually-sensible Finn (Joe Gill) will find himself doing a deal with the devil, but fans will be left wondering if he is making a big mistake.
It will come as no surprise that Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is at the centre of all the mischief and she will soon have a naive Finn doing her dirty work for her.
Finn will strike up a dodgy deal with Charity by unwittingly agreeing to help her shift some knock-off action figures.

Charity and Finn do a deal
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Friday, April 22 at 7pm on ITV.

Why don't Chrissie and Lawrence hire Finn for the office, to take over Nicola's job
Emmerdale's Finn joins the Barton family trend of getting arrested next week, after a dodgy deal with Charity Dingle goes wrong.
Finn finds himself on the wrong side of the law after Charity (Emma Atkins) recruits him to sell some rare action figures for her, knowing that he has the perfect geeky knowledge to get them shifted.
As always with Charity, the goods are all stolen and Finn soon gets hauled in for police questioning after his involvement backfires badly.
Joe Gill, who plays Finn, revealed: "It's Ross and Charity who end up acquiring the action figures. Little do they realise that they're actually quite rare and worth quite a bit of money.
"Charity gives Noah one to play with and when Finn sees this, he's absolutely gobsmacked as to how they got hold of them. Charity lets Finn have a look and he sees that she has loads of these very rare action figures.
"Afterwards Charity tells Finn to sell the figures and she'll give him a share of the profits. A normal person would probably just put them on eBay or knock on people's doors, but that's not how Finn does it!
"He goes all-out and basically holds his own comic convention event in the village hall. It's as extravagant as you can imagine. Unfortunately Finn does too much of a good job and ends up being caught."

Ross watches as Finn is arrested
Discussing why Finn ever trusted a conniving conwoman like Charity, Gill admitted: "It just gets to the point where Finn is so in awe of these action figures and how rare they are, that the fact Charity is the one giving them to him goes completely over his head.
"Ross tries to do his best once Finn is arrested, but it's all too little too late. As you can imagine, Finn does speak his mind to Ross and lets him know that he's really upset about it.
"It's a big shock to Finn and also to his family. He's so used to being in situations where everyone's having a go at Pete or Ross. The tables have turned now, with Finn getting a comeuppance.
"It was strange to do the scenes, really! I suppose Finn is so used to having a go at someone that it's weird for him to be on the receiving end. As an actor, it was also weird for Gill Kearney and Bill Ward - who play Emma and James - to be shouting at me. It's almost as if your actual parents are shouting at you!"
With Finn's good guy history, is this brush with the law a total one-off? Or could he suddenly go off the rails and start to rival Ross in the bad boy stakes?
Laughing over the possibility, Gill commented: "Well, you never know really, do you? Obviously Finn is very bright and the best criminals in the world are very intelligent - the ones that get away with it.
"I think Finn's heart and head are in the right place, so I don't think he'd ever go down that route of being really bad, unless something awful happened to him.
"But maybe he could think 'bugger it' as he only gets a slap on the wrist. Could he be Ross's right hand man? We don't know."
We don't have to worry about Finn becoming a criminal mastermind just yet, as his next big plan is to launch a cab firm as a family business - hoping the venture can be a fresh start for all of the Barton brothers once Pete is released from jail.
"Part of it is that Finn wants to get out of the B&B," Gill added. "Finn just finally snaps and the cab firm is a great way of bringing the brothers together. Finn could do a lot of stuff himself, but he actually thinks for his brothers as well. A taxi firm is something they can all do and he really wants things to go right in the family.
"The only problem is that a criminal record will damage your reputation as a taxi driver. It's ironic that the only person without one is Ross - and that comes into play in a few of the scenes!"

Poor Finn so happy with his convention and making good money but why cover for Charity, was it to protect Ross
Pierce is a comic nerd fan, any potential spark for him and Finn
Joe Gill spills the beans on geeky Finn' s shock arrest for handling stolen goods!
Hi, Joe! Can you tell us why Finn wants to leave the B&B? Is he not happy there any more?
"He's been working there pretty much since he arrived in the village [6 December 2013], and things were a lot different this time last year when it was him, Val and Eric together. Now of course it's very different and Eric's attitude towards the business has changed. Finn has ended up taking on much more work. What began as a part-time way to make some extra money has now become a full-time job."
Does Finn think he's capable of doing more with his life, then?
"Yeah, without being big-headed, he does. He never saw himself staying at the B&B forever, and things have been difficult because Tracy isn't much help. Finn has become a skivvy and he's had enough of it, to be honest."
How does he end up striking a business deal with Charity?
"Ross and Charity have acquired these action figures, but little do they know they are actually quite rare and worth a lot of money. Finn can't understand how Charity got hold of them [TW: Of course, Rotten Ross brought them to Emmerdale village during the Friday 22 April episode. Just so no-surprise for everyone for Th.U.G. then really, and a truly horrible bad brother for Emmerdale's lovely Finn and just more ammo to hate You Know Urrr... I really hope that, in a short while, "clean record" Urrr gets arrested and DNA-tested for something and that some or many (all? such a dream...!) of His previous crimes will become linked by modern science!], but she shows him the rest. It's right up Finn's street, this kind of thing, and I think he's so impressed with them that he really wants to get involved."
Does he not smell a rat?
"I honestly think Finn is so in awe of these action figures and the quantity of them that the fact that it's Charity who's giving them to him goes completely over his head! A normal person would try and sell them on eBay, but Finn goes all out and decides to host his own comic convention in the Emmerdale village hall. It's as extravagant as you can imagine!"
How do the police get involved?
"Finn has gone to town, putting posters up and advertising the event. He's done too much of a good job in promoting it, so the police find out. Ross sort of tries to warn Finn off the convention, but it's all too little too late... And the police turn up and arrest him for handling stolen goods."
Is Finn angry with Ross for not being honest with him?
"Finn does speak his mind to Ross: he lets him know that he's angry, and more! The arrest comes as a shock to Finn, and it's difficult for him to cope. He's so used to his parents having a go at either Ross or Pete, and now the tables have turned and Finn is getting the blame for something massive."
Were those scenes fun to do?
Yeah, and it was wierd to have Finn on the receiving end of it. For me as an actor, it was strange for Gill (Kearney, who plays Emma)and Bill (Ward, aka James) to be shouting at me. It was like my actual parents were having a go! It was a really odd feeling."
Will this brush with the law give Finn a taste for dodgy deals?
"Well, you never know! Finn is very bright, and the best criminals in the world are intelligent because they always manage to get away with it. I think Finn's heart and head are in the right place. Unless something awful happens, I don't think he'll go down a dark road. But now he's got a criminal record, he might turn into Ross!"
Can you tell us why Finn wants to start a cab firm of all things?
"Finn finally snaps and just wants out of the B&B. He thinks that starting a cab firm will be a brilliant way of bringing him, Pete and Ross together as brothers. Finn wants them to all work together, and driving cars is something they all can do. He just wants things to go right in the family for once, after all his mistakes..."
Won't his and Pete's criminal records go against them, though? They'll need special licences to drive taxis...
"Yes, this sort of thing can damage your reputation and prevent you from working from being in a car with strangers. It's actually ironic that the only brother without a record is Ross, and that will come into play in the scenes as the story progresses..."
The Next Chapter.
Joe says the world could be Finn's oyster now he's left the B&B. "He's capable of doing most things," shares the star. "I loved being in the B&B location set and working in the Emmerdale village. If it all goes pear-shaped then he'll be back there."

TW:
It sounds like the taxi firm gets set somewhere like Hotten then and maybe at last we will have an Emmerdalian commuting to work every day? I imagine there will be some comedy scenes with "unlikely" cab customers, plus some dodgy things happening too. I guess that Finn might mostly play the part of radio controller for the "fleet" and that maybe Pete is one unlicensed cab driver there? But time will tell about this...?
I really think that Finn has so far missed a great Emmerdale trick and opportunity though. He should really soon set up an Emmerdale DNA test lab facility. Just what would EDNA reveal to everyone? Haha!
Okay so firstly this storyline has just started but the way it's playing out at the moment, it's all just falling a bit flat.
I think this new producer needs to stop wondering about what new Robron picture to post next online and start worrying about the storylines/characters.
I was really looking forward to seeing Ross and Finn interact which they've not done in ages (on screen at least). Yet we get Finn being horrible to Ross. Finn was such a numpty to start blaming Ross for his arrest. Finn's meant to be a smart character in the program and yet he didn't see what Charity was doing!?

BIB: I don't want to go too off topic but the quality of storylines in Emmerdale has recently gone down greatly. Ever since around October last year (when it was fab) it's been on a downward spiral. I think it's visibly obvious that Ian and the writers are focusing to much on Robron, at the expense of other storylines. Not many other actors have had their chance to shine in the past 3 months or so, it's just Robron Robron Robron with other characters there just to fill the cracks.
If I was an Emmerdale actor I'd feel pretty insulted that at getting less to do just to make way for Robron.
I don´t think so at all .. not been much of Robron .. Debbie leaving (pretty poor storyline for me though), Aaron´s abuse storyline, Charity back ( again, I am not very impressed with her constant bad girl storylines, but I know I am probably pretty much alone in that), Paddy´s affair ... Robron only got i:)nto the forefront a bit more once the trial started and since then we have not really seen much of them :)
You have to remember that the stuff on screen is still Kate's work
Emmerdale's Finn Barton is left devastated next week as crash victim Kasim gets moved to another hospital.
Finn (Joe Gill) has grown strangely attached to Kasim ever since coming to his rescue in the devastating motorway pile-up last month.
While Finn sees nothing wrong with paying regular visits to Kasim's hospital bedside, not everyone is impressed with his unusual behaviour - and things are only set to get worse in upcoming episodes.
It all kicks off when Finn tells a nurse that he's Kasim's boyfriend during his latest visit to the hospital, which sounds a little bit creepy to us if we're honest.

Finn is later distraught when the doctors attempt to bring Kasim (Ethan Kai) out of his coma and it doesn't work, so he calls Aaron Dingle in desperate search of some reassurance.
Although Aaron is supportive, Finn doesn't relax for long as he then sees Kasim get whisked away down a corridor - and off to another hospital!
Always on hand to support her boys, Emma Barton agrees to abuse her own position as a nurse by helping Finn to find Kasim after he's been moved.

Finn is very concerned for this Kasim, they much really have a connection :p
his dad dies and finn only worried for coma fella he needs a fella badly :p
Yes I think he is projecting his grief for his dad onto this guy, curious to see where this is going but lets hope it's a decent story line for Finn whatever it is.
Emmerdale star Joe Gill has hinted that there could be romance on the cards for his character Finn Barton.
Fans have seen Finn grow strangely attached to Kasim ever since coming to his rescue in the devastating motorway pile-up last month. And upcoming scenes will even see Finn left devastated when Kasim gets moved to another hospital.
However, while Finn's behaviour is certainly starting to become a cause of concern for those closest to him, Joe is hoping that there are happier times on the horizon for his alter ego.
When asked there if there was love coming up for Finn, Joe said to Inside Soap: "There might be!"
"Kasim has come into Finn's life and Finn has been visiting him in hospital – but does Finn actually like him, or is he trying to fill the gap in his life from his dad's death? He does need a bit of love though, bless him."
Joe also admitted that he was shocked when he heard that his on-screen dad Bill Ward was being killed off during the soap's big stunt week back in October.
"Bill told us personally in early summer because he didn't want us hearing it from someone else," he said.
"Me, Mike [Parr, who plays Ross] and Anthony [who plays Pete] are very close to him. It was a shock, but Super Soap Week was a big success, I think.
"Bill is a lovely giy with a big manly laugh you'd recognise a mile off, so it's a lot quieter on set now!"

Emmerdale fans will see all of Finn Barton's dreams come true next week as he starts a romantic relationship with crash victim Kasim.
Finn has spent the past few weeks visiting Kasim in hospital after he was left in a coma following the devastating motorway pile-up.
Upcoming episodes will see Finn left fearful that he's lost Kasim for good when he's moved to another hospital and discharged after finally making a recovery. But in good news for fans who want Finn to finally find a man, there's another twist to the tale still to come.
When Kasim reads a newspaper article about the crash and learns that a guy called Finn Barton saved his life, he turns up in the Emmerdale village to thank him personally - and there's an immediate chemistry between the pair when they're introduced. What are the odds?
Joe Gill, who plays Finn, revealed: "Finn is in a dark place after his dad's death. His mum is messed up and his brothers haven't got time to listen to what he's got to say. Nobody is really there for Finn. The person who used to be there for him the most was his dad.
"So I think the connection that Finn feels with Kasim is very strong. When Kasim was in a coma, he unloaded all of his thoughts onto him. Even though Kasim might not have been able to hear him, Finn feels a bond towards him and thinks he's the only person he can confide in."
He continued: "When Kasim is discharged, it's been in the local paper that a man by the name of Finn Barton saved his life. Kasim doesn't know anything else, so he comes to the village. Finn has just been told that he's never going to see him again, but suddenly there he is in the flesh.
"Finn doesn't tell Kasim that he's been visiting him in hospital. It's the last thing that he'd say in that moment! Finn just wants to prove himself. Everything does go so well between them in the first few meetings, so Finn doesn't want to scare him off."
http://digitalspyuk.cdnds.net/16/47/...merdale-07.JPG
The bad news for Finn is that Kasim will quickly learn the truth when one of the Bartons lets it slip, which leaves him with some major explaining to do.
Joe laughed: "I can only put myself in the shoes of Kasim, and if that was me, I'd think it was a bit creepy. You'd also want to be told straight away. From Kasim's point of view, Finn has kept it a secret and lied about it, so what else could he be capable of?
"Kasim doesn't know Finn that well. He doesn't know Finn like the audience and other people in the village do, so he might just think he's very strange!
"But everything Finn does comes from a good place. I can't stress that enough and hopefully Kasim can see that."
Revealing his thoughts on the new storyline, Joe added: "I was really excited when I found out about it. Through the three years I've been here at Emmerdale, Finn has never been lucky in love.
"So when the producer Iain MacLeod told me this was what he was planning, I was hoping it would at least go right for a few months! It's also interesting to see what the writers can do with Finn in a relationship.
"Ethan who plays Kasim is a lovely guy. We're pretty much the same age, so we share a lot of similar interests and he really cares about what he does.
"What's crazy is that he's been here at Emmerdale since late August when we filmed the crash. He was unconscious through all that and then had a month of coma scenes. He's probably had harder first months!
"But I think it was a nice way for him to get a gist of how things work and meet people before his work really started. It was a nice break-in for him and it's good for him that he now finally gets to find out what his character is like."

Finn's over-eager behaviour around Kasim Sabet (Ethan Kai) causes yet more problems over Christmas, as the handsome newcomer starts to feel suffocated by his new boyfriend's antics.
To make matters even worse, Finn's mum Emma is just as pushy as she keeps a close eye on the blossoming relationship. Let's hope Kasim stays away from road bridges, just to be on the safe side...
Digital Spy recently caught up with Joe Gill, who plays Finn, for all the gossip on what's next for his character's messy love life.
What kind of a reaction have you seen to the Finn and Kasim story so far?
"Ever since the storyline started, it's been really nice to see that people are made up for Finn. They're glad that someone has finally taken an interest in him, because he's not really had much fortune in the last three years. They seem to think he's long overdue some happiness."
Do Finn and Kasim have an official ship name yet?
"I'm not really sure, but I've seen a few 'Fasim' hashtags flying around on social media. I think that has a bit more of a ring to it than 'Kinn', anyway!"
Do you think Finn and Kasim make a good match?
"Yeah, I do think they make a nice match. Ethan is also really good to work with. He cares a lot about what he does and we're pretty much the same age, so we click as well.
"There is really good chemistry between the two characters, although Kasim is slightly cooler than Finn. He's probably got a bit more about him in terms of street cred. I think Finn is very head over heels for him, whereas Kasim is able to see the bigger picture more. But I think they really click together."
It's fair to say the relationship had quite an unusual start at the hospital...
"It did, but again, that was really nice to play. It was very organic, because Finn's dad James had been rushed to hospital before he died and that's where Finn then got to know Kasim. That's how it all led onto this.
"Finn is in a state of desperation at the moment after everything that happened. It played out quite nicely, because Finn saw Kasim in the hospital and almost transferred the love he had for his dad onto him."
Why is Finn so nervous about sleeping with Kasim this week?
"In typical Finn fashion, it's nerves, but it's also him completely over-thinking it. Finn pretty much does that with everything. He's a massive over-thinker, because he cares so much about himself and other people around him. When he knows that things are going to get intimate, he really is no help for himself in terms of how he worries about it."
What happens when Finn confides in Tracy about his worries?
"Well, as you can imagine, Tracy has got a way of dealing with things that is a lot more straightforward. There's definitely some comedy to be had with that!
"Tracy is also probably a lot more experienced with this kind of thing than Finn is. There's some advice that Finn finds comforting, but maybe some other bits that he really didn't need to hear..."
Is Finn moving too quickly when he later wants to spend Christmas with Kasim?
"He is, but Finn doesn't really see it like that. He's so love-blind and overexcited because things are finally going right for him, after everything going so wrong with his brothers and his dad earlier in the year.
"Now things are going well, he just wants to keep it that way. Subconsciously, he'll try anything to make that happen. Finn thinks they need to move forward with a really quick pace, almost to solidify the fact that he is with Kasim and make him completely out of bounds to anyone else. It's quite obsessive without him even realising, but it's completely innocent."
Why does Finn arrange for him and Kasim to go on holiday to Australia?
"Someone suggests that they may need some time alone together, without anyone interfering. A normal person would maybe plan a romantic meal or a weekend away, but Finn completely goes overboard and plans a trip to Australia for them to see Kylie Minogue.
"This is all due to the fact that Finn saw a Kylie CD in Kasim's van when he first met him. It's completely spontaneous, as he literally saw one CD and decides to go for it!"
Did you have to do a screen test with Ethan before he joined the show?
"I did. That was really interesting as well, because it literally seems like just a few months ago that I did my own screen test with Isabel Hodgins who plays Victoria. Now it was my turn to do it from the other side.
"There were five or six people and Ethan was obviously one of them. It was really interesting to see different actors portraying a certain character in different ways, but Ethan definitely nailed it. He was very engaging and he did one thing which not a lot of the others actors did - he connected with me physically and almost gave me a hug at the end. That showed the two characters having a bond."
Would you like this to be a long-term relationship for Finn?
"Yeah of course, as it's nice to have the character finally be in a relationship. Now that's happened, you can see a different side to Finn - and you will in the near future.
"There are also other things to happen and some twists and turns to come, so I'm excited for you guys to see it."
After three years in Emmerdale, are you happy to stick around?
"Yeah, it's crazy. I think it was on December 6 that the character had been on screen for three years, but it's obviously longer for me because we film the show in advance and I started in October.
"But it hasn't felt like three years at all. Never mind not having a bad day in work, I've never really felt like I've come to work, because I love it over here and it's a great team. I'm still really enjoying it."
How has the show changed things for you?
"It's completely changed my life. I've been in Emmerdale since I was 19, so in a sense I have grown up in the show. Being surrounded by cast, crew and a production team who are more experienced than me, I've learned a lot from them.
"I've managed to get a place of my own sorted. I've managed to finally pass my driving test and get my own car, which is something I needed to do because the character is a taxi driver. So it's not only made me develop as an actor, it's hopefully made me more mature as a person too."
Are you looking forward to filming the inevitable moment that Emma Barton gets caught out?
"Whenever I'm on the street, all anyone asks me is when she's going to get found out. It just shows how much the viewers are engaged in the storyline, which is what we want.
"It's going to be really, really interesting when she does get caught out. I don't want to disclose anything as to when it is. I might not even know when it is myself! But when it does come out, it's going to rock not just the Barton family but the whole village."
What was it like to watch your on-screen brother Adam Thomas in I'm A Celeb?
"It was brilliant. I thought he was great. His energy and his enthusiasm for life is just contagious. We all just said to him beforehand: 'If you go in there and just be how you normally are every day, you're going to do really well'.
"And he did. He threw himself in at the deep end. His fear of spiders certainly came across, like we all knew it would. In my personal opinion, I thought he'd win because I thought he did enough to win. He was a laugh, and he did more trials than anyone else.
"But I think when you looked at the final 3, it could have gone any way, because they're all such lovely people. Adam came back to set last week and we all gave him a massive cheer. It's good to have him back."
Would you do the show yourself if the offer came in?
"Do you know what? Adam's set the bar now and I don't think I could beat it, so probably not! It's nice to push yourself and see how far you can go with things like that, but I'd have to think about it because he's certainly set the standard for who goes in next."
What are your plans for Christmas?
"We're very fortunate here at Emmerdale. We're very busy in the run-up to Christmas and we film quite a few weekends. But they're really kind to us and they give us a few weeks off at Christmas, which is unheard of in other filming projects.
"I'm just planning to kick back and chill out with the family. I live in Manchester, so I'll be back there. I normally go for a meal with the mates on Christmas Eve. That turns into quite a few drinks in the pub and then I spend Christmas Day hungover eating my Christmas dinner, to be honest!"

Emmerdale's Finn Barton bitterly blames his mum Emma after his new boyfriend Kasim Sabet dumps him in the New Year.
Finn is currently on cloud nine after sleeping with Kasim (Ethan Kai) for the first time, but their romance turns sour over the Christmas period when he starts trying to rush things.
As we revealed recently, the final straw comes when Finn buys them tickets to see Kylie Minogue in Australia, despite warnings from his loved ones that it's a crazy idea to spend so much after just a few weeks together.
Predictably, Kasim (Ethan Kai) is pretty freaked out by Finn's grand gesture and decides it's time to end their relationship before things get any weirder.
When Finn's mum Emma (Gillian Kearney) realises what's going on, she can't resist interfering yet again and she urges Kasim to let him down gently.
Taking this on board, Kasim lies to Finn by claiming that he's reuniting with his ex-boyfriend and it's nothing personal.
In the aftermath, Finn foolishly blames Emma for the mess – claiming that she was the one who made Kasim feel so uncomfortable. We're pretty sure that's not fair, Finn!
As Finn becomes determined not to let Kasim go, he continues to text him in the desperate hope of getting another chance. But will Kasim be interested after everything that's happened?
