Monday

Cora is upset when she hears that Tanya has agreed to meet with with Max and she does all she can to stop her daughter making another mistake.
An emotional Lola says goodbye to Lexi as Phil takes her away to Cornwall for a holiday with Peggy.

Denise and Zainab battle for the regional manager's job and convinced it's in the bag, Zainab makes a rash decision in an attempt to raise her profile within the community.

Tuesday

Masood becomes increasingly uncomfortable around Ayesha and encourages her to follow her dreams. However, his plan backfires, when Zainab interferes and he is shocked at the consequences.
Tyler and Whitney happily talk about getting a place of their own but things take a dramatic turn for the worse when Whitney ignores Bianca's advice.

Bianca and Kat excitedly make plans to set up a stall on the market together however it's not as easy as it seems when they need money for the set up costs. Will anyone come to their rescue?

Thursday

Masood is bewildered when AJ advises that Ayesha is playing games with him - but the middle-aged postie is in for a shock when he calls her bluff.
Jean voices her concerns when Alfie excitedly tells her that he is planning to surprise Roxy by replacing Kat's name with Roxy's on the licensee plaque above the door.

Kat and Bianca face a battle when Ian and the rest of the traders of Bridge Street put up a fight against them owning a stall on the market.

Friday

Annoyed at the way things have turned out, Max decides to go looking for answers but he gets more than he bargained for...
Masood struggles with Zainab's demands and comes to a decision.

After their break-up, Whitney is shocked when Tyler makes his feelings for her loud and clear.

Whitney, Tyler and Joey
The kiss that Whitney shared with Joey last year is brought up again towards the end of this month when Tyler finally discovers what went on between the pair.

When Whitney seems to be disapproving of Joey's relationship with Lauren, he warns her to change her attitude unless she wants Tyler to find out that she betrayed him.

A concerned Whitney soon confides in Bianca, who advises her not to tell Tyler about the kiss as it will only cause trouble. However, Whitney wants the truth out in the open and decides to tell Tyler everything.

Shocked by what he's hearing, Tyler marches over to The Vic and flies at Joey, before deciding to end his relationship with Whitney. But with Whitney determined to win Tyler back and Bianca keen to help her, will there be another twist to the tale?

Kat, Alfie and Bianca
When Sharon fires Bianca and Kat from their joint cleaning jobs at R&R, the ladies decide to set up a market stall together instead.

Needing some cash to get the idea off the ground, Kat considers pawning her wedding ring to raise funds.

Later, however, Alfie steps in to help Kat by lending her some money instead. Does this mean the Moons are back on good terms again despite everything that's happened?

Watch out for Ayesha confessing her love for Masood on January 29, as she tells him that Zainab doesn't love him the way she does.

Ayesha soon steps up her attempts to win Masood's heart, but AJ notices the strange atmosphere between them. Will he find out what's going on?

Other snippets
There's bad news for Alice as she is made redundant on January 29, which leads to her sharing some scenes with Michael Moon. But why?

Bianca and AJ will have a date together.

Finally, following the recent spoilers which emerged about Max being attacked, viewers will see him get his beating on February 1.

Coming up on EastEnders, all hell breaks loose as Whitney Dean's kiss with Joey Branning comes to light.

The drama begins when Whitney (Shona McGarty) doesn't seem entirely comfortable over Joey and Lauren's relationship, which doesn't go unnoticed by Joey.

Joey (David Witts) wastes little time before issuing a threat to Whitney - he'll tell Tyler about their secret snog if she doesn't stop looking down her nose at them.

Fearful that the truth will emerge and needing some guidance, Whitney confides in Bianca, who advises her to just keep quiet and avoid aggravation.

When Whitney ignores this advice and decides to tell Tyler (Tony Discipline) the truth, the revelation leaves her boyfriend furious.

Soon afterwards, Tyler flies at Joey in The Vic until Alfie pulls the pair apart. How will Tyler feel now that Whitney's secret is out?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, January 29 at 7.30pm on BBC One.

EastEnders' Tyler Moon pops the question to on-off girlfriend Whitney Dean next week.

Tyler (Tony Discipline) makes the big decision just a few days after he has ended his relationship with Whitney, which means that the proposal comes as a complete surprise to her!

Viewers see Tyler and Whitney (Shona McGarty) run into trouble after Whitney finally confesses to the secret kiss she shared with Joey Branning late last year.

However, Tyler struggles with the break-up much more than he expected - and soon realises that he doesn't want to let Whitney go.

Tyler makes several attempts to talk to Whitney while she is busy working at the community centre, but eventually decides to try a different method of getting her attention.

Soon afterwards, Tyler organises for the kids Whitney is teaching to all hold up letters which spell: "Will you marry me?"

As she had feared their romance was over, Whitney is left speechless over the romantic gesture!

Monday

Tanya boxes up the rest of Max's things at home. However, over at Jack's place, Max is determined that he'll find a way to move back in with Tanya as soon as possible. Knowing that protective Cora is the main person standing in his way, Max waits until she has left for her afternoon launderette shift before heading to see Tanya.

Max manages to persuade Tanya to meet him at Jack's so they can talk properly. However, when Cora hears about this, she is furious with Tanya for letting Max worm his way back into her life. Cora does all she can to stop her daughter making another mistake - will Tanya listen?


Meanwhile, Denise is disappointed when she learns that she didn't get the regional manager position, but things look up slightly when Ian invites her over for a consolation dinner. At the same time, a confident Zainab remains convinced that she will be the successful applicant. Expecting more prosperous times ahead, Zainab orders an expensive water feature which has caught her eye in a fancy magazine. Masood is horrified by the extravagant purchase, but Zainab explains that she's keen to walk tall in the community again following recent setbacks.

Elsewhere, Sharon is upset when she sees that she isn't in any of Dennis's drawings of his family. Jack points out that Sharon has been neglecting Dennis in favour of Lexi. When Bianca butts in by mentioning Dennis fighting at school, Sharon fires her and Kat from their joint cleaning job at R&R.

Also today, Masood feels awkward when Ayesha asks him to turn down her lunch date with Rashid for her, Zainab confronts Carol as Lauren's friends have broken her gate, while an emotional Lola says goodbye to Lexi as Phil takes her away to Cornwall for a holiday with Peggy - but Lola vows that it's the last time Phil and her social worker will push her around.

Tuesday

Zainab has received the bad news that she didn't get the promotion, but she is finding it difficult to tell Masood. However, she is forced to come clean when the new regional manager visits the Minute Mart. Masood is supportive of Zainab and tells her that she should have just been honest.


Later, Masood encourages Ayesha to follow her dreams - advising that she should go to university and tell Zainab the truth about how she doesn't have any feelings for Rashid. However, when Ayesha does so, she is left in tears as Zainab dashes her dreams of university and a career - urging her not to pass up on the opportunity she has with Rashid. With Ayesha in turmoil, she privately tells Masood that Zainab doesn't love him like she does and she knows he feels the same way…

Meanwhile, Whitney seems uncomfortable when she spots Joey and Lauren kissing. However, Joey warns her to stop looking down her nose at them, claiming that he'll tell Tyler about the kiss they shared if she's not careful. Fearful that the truth will emerge, Whitney confides in Bianca about the problem, but Bianca advises her to just keep quiet to avoid any trouble. Ignoring this advice, Whitney tells Tyler the truth and all hell breaks loose as he angrily confronts Joey at The Vic. Afterwards, Tyler ends his relationship with Whitney.


Elsewhere, Bianca and Kat agree to set up a market stall together, but they wonder how they'll raise enough cash to get the idea off the ground. As they attempt to raise the money, Kat heads off to pawn her wedding ring. However, when Alfie spots her, he convinces her to have some money from him instead - explaining that by supporting her, he's also supporting Tommy. Kat promises to pay back the cash as soon as she can.

Also today, Max is in despair as Tanya isn't picking up her phone and Sharon is unwilling to help him, Dot continues to struggle with the rent arrears that Cora has left her with, Alice agrees to start looking after Scarlett for Michael after being made redundant at work, while AJ heads to Bianca's place after she agrees to a date - but will he get lucky or leave empty-handed?

Thursday

When AJ notices the strange atmosphere between his brother and Ayesha, Masood explains how she has fallen for him and even played footsie with him under the table the other day. However, AJ isn't convinced and tells Masood that Ayesha must be playing games - there's no way she'd really be interested in him!


Masood realises that AJ must be right, so he later confronts Ayesha by hinting that he gets the joke but she should concentrate her efforts on Rashid. As the day continues, however, Masood is shocked to find Ayesha in just a towel wanting his attention. Masood is left stunned as Ayesha insists that her feelings for him are entirely serious - what more does she need to do to convince him?

Meanwhile, Alfie is planning to surprise Roxy by swapping Kat's name for hers on the plaque above the door of The Vic - even though Jean thinks it's far too soon for this. At the same time, Kat and Bianca face a backlash from the other Bridge Street traders, who aren't best pleased at the thought of working alongside Bianca after she previously stole from them. Alfie decides to help out by convincing Ian to speak to the other market traders in Bianca and Kat's defence, and the plan works.


Later, Kat heads over to The Vic to thank Alfie with a bottle of his favourite liqueur in hand, but her timing couldn't be worse as the big reveal of the plaque is about to take place. Kat stares on in shock as she witnesses Alfie proudly unveiling the new plaque to Roxy's delight.

Elsewhere, Max continues to struggle without Tanya and has another run in with Cora where she swears never to let Max near her daughter again, Michael is pleased when Alice starts working for him but ends up having to comfort her when she gets upset over Derek's death, Bianca tries to get Tyler and Whitney back together following their break-up, while Kirsty's wedding ring arrives in the post for Max.

Friday

Max is feeling angry after receiving Kirsty's wedding ring in the post, and he decides that he blames her for the mess his life is currently in. Deciding to confront Kirsty, Max storms off to find her and he goes looking at the home of Adam, her ex-boyfriend's brother. Loud music is blaring from the house but there's no answer when Max knocks on the door. Suddenly, however, Kirsty appears behind Max and appears confused over why he is there.


Although Max wants to talk to Kirsty, he feels uneasy because she seems to be behaving strangely. When the scarf Kirsty is wearing falls from around her head, Max spots that she has a nasty bruise on her cheek. Adam then opens the door at last, and Max confronts him about beating Kirsty. Max then faces a frightening situation as he is dragged into the house and subjected to a vicious beating by Adam and his mate…

Meanwhile, Tyler is struggling following his split from Whitney. He makes several attempts to talk to Whitney while she is busy working at the community centre, but eventually decides to try a different method. Tyler organises it so that the kids she is teaching all hold up letters to spell: "Will you marry me?" Whitney is speechless over the surprise proposal.

Elsewhere, Masood finds himself working outside in the freezing weather as he builds Zainab's water feature. Ayesha is worried for Masood as she watches on, but Zainab is only concerned about the Imam arriving later today for a meeting about the upcoming wedding.

Also today, Michael and Alice continue to get along well and Tyler winds Joey up over Michael's intentions for his sister, Tiffany hopes to break into singing stardom and pays no attention when AJ tells her that she is rubbish, while Ian asks Denise to dinner but feels a little deflated when she realises it's a pre-empted 'thank you' for looking out for Lucy while he goes to visit Michelle.

EastEnders star Nitin Ganatra has admitted that his character Masood Ahmed is "tempted" when Ayesha Rana tries to seduce him next week.

Masood is faced with a few surprises over the next few days as Ayesha declares her love for him before later trying to catch his attention by confronting him in just a towel.

Although Masood is already aware that Ayesha (Shivani Ghai) has a crush on him, he is shocked to see just how strong her feelings are.

Ganatra told Inside Soap: "Masood's in a real dilemma! Whether you're a man or a woman, if you've been in a relationship for 30 years, it does take the excitement out of things.

"So for a young lady to emerge from his bathroom and say, 'Take me, I'm yours' - well, of course he's tempted!"

He continued: "Don't forget, Masood is a guy who was frolicking in a hotel room with Jane Beale not that long ago. It's natural and honest for Masood to be tempted by Ayesha - but it's how he acts upon it that will count now."

Viewers will also see Ayesha try to convince Masood that she is a much better match for him than his partner Zainab (Nina Wadia), who bows out from the show next month.

Ganatra explained: "Ayesha's remarks hit home. She says things like, 'Zainab doesn't even look at you any more' and, 'She doesn't appreciate all the work that you do for her'.

"Ayesha and Masood get along really well. She makes him laugh and they have a lot in common. If you take the age gap out of the situation, they're a match."

EastEnders continues tomorrow (January 24) at 7.30pm on BBC One.

EastEnders star Shona McGarty has admitted that she is "praying" for her on-screen wedding to go ahead.

The actress's character Whitney Dean agrees to marry boyfriend Tyler Moon (Tony Discipline) when he proposes to her later this week.

Whitney is excited as she shares the engagement news with her friends, but as ever in Walford, viewers will have to wait and see whether the couple actually make it down the aisle in the long-run.

McGarty told Soaplife: "I'm praying it happens because I'd love a big, fat gypsy wedding. I'm Irish and I know [Gypsy Weddings dress designer] Thelma Madine. I can just imagine Tiffany in a big pink bridesmaid's dress. I so want to call Thelma and say, 'I need a dress'.

"I've done a few weddings since I've been here and they're great to film as we're all together and we have a laugh between takes."

The 21-year-old also backed Whitney and Tyler as a pairing built to last, dismissing concerns that they are too young for marriage.

McGarty explained: "He's 'The One' and she can imagine spending her life with him. She feels totally different to how she did with Fatboy, who was all wrong for her. Tyler gets Whitney.

"She thinks you have to grab what you can when it comes along. Tyler's so lovely to her and the idea of being a housewife and mum really appeals."

EastEnders star Lorna Fitzgerald has admitted that she wants her character Abi Branning to be "naughtier".

The actress explained that she is keen to see Abi push the boundaries more, but conceded that she is unlikely to go as far as her older sister Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa).

Asked whether Abi could ever go off the rails like boozy Lauren, Fitzgerald told the official EastEnders website: "I'd like her to! I'd like her to dye her hair or something crazy.

"But I couldn't imagine her drinking. She's a bit too normal and she's very underage - she is 16. Just whipping out the vodka might be a bit awkward!

"I don't really see her doing it, but I think it would be cool. She has grown up a lot from what she used to be when I first started. But yeah, I'd like her to be a little bit naughtier - not always good."


Fitzgerald also said that she wants Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) to cause more problems for Abi's relationship with Jay Mitchell.

Discussing Abi and Jay's future, she commented: "I'd like them to run away and get married so I can wear a pretty dress. That'd be nice.

"I think they do stay together, but it would be nice again if Lola came into it, like how it was in the beginning - 'who will he choose?' Hopefully me!

"But I think they're going to stay together for the long-term. I've got a lot of scenes with him coming up in February time, Valentine's Day."
