why are the french so rude, in paris meeting arrogant aholes
What to apologise for my lack of interaction on the board of the past few months. I started a new job at the beginning of May and have been finding my feet. At the end of May my sister died and due to some long waiting list in the hospital they didn't release her body until the end of June. Her funeral as on June 28th, which I couldn't attend as it was 2 days before my bday and I had plans with my children. It was suppose to be live streamed but that failed and I only got to see the recording last Friday. This was the 1st death in my immediate family and I had a really hard time coping with it and still have but it is getting better.
I am very sorry to hear about your sister, sending virtual hug. Always hard to lose a loved one, especially at a young age :( Glad you are slowly getting better, take one day at a time, I am not sure time is a healer but things get easier for sure. xxx
I hope you like your new job, in a way it might help to take your mind off things for a while. Good luck with it :)
thank you
Job is great. I am learning a lot so very distracted. My collegues are great too and Boss is quiet geeky so it's great to have someone to talk tech with.
Phoned a landscape gardening company a week ago to ask the to give me a quote for trimming the hedges, so after a quick chat they said 'Yes ok we'll see you on Friday at 2pm. I eagerly awaited their arrival ( having done chores and shopping early). 2pm came and went, I rang them and left message, no return call, so in the end I wrote an e mail asking them what had happend. Result I am not happy!! talk about service with a smile???? ( there isn't one):thumbsdow. On a happier note my family ancestory project is really coming along at the local library, (a local family history group meets there once a month ) I am doing my Dad's side, can't wait to discover more about where they lived and worked.:cheer:
I was the same way last year, my my Mum was diagnosed with Dementia in 2011 and died last year aged 85. The months that followed were hard for me, I evetually decided to get bereavement counselling and it has helped me so much. My sincere condolences Pantherboy.
Not been on here for ages so just seen this. So sorry to hear this Siobhan, i hope that things are getting better for you. Its so awful to try and come to terms with and I really feel for you.
Present position from me is that I am now a fully qualified teacher with my own class. Its all very surreal but I am absolutely loving it.
Woot woot You go Katy!!
go teacher katy carry on :p
So sorry Siobhan. Hope things are better for you. Katy well done you from one Man City fan to another x
I thought it was hot here in Penrith on new years eve, when it was 46.3 degrees Celsius. Well, today (Sat) it is 48.9 C - the hottest day ever recorded in Greater Sydney (& it was supposedly the hottest place on Earth today!). And there is still the bushfire threat in the Blue Mountains & the South Coast etc. (48.9C is equivalent to about 130 Fahrenheit!). I have had the air-con on as well as the ceiling fans & it is still stifling hot inside at 7:30pm. Unbelievable!

I hope that things change soon and it cools down and that it rains, rains and rains. It breaks my heart to see all the fires on the news and the amount of wildlife perished .. some to possible extinction according to some news :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: I pray that you and others still affected by the fires will stay safe :(
I am so sorry to hear this Siobhan, losing a sibling is a terrible thing. Please take care of yourself. I lost my younger brother in June 2018, he was my only sibling and I spent a lot of time supporting my parents and sister in law - it catches up with you. I suffered a delayed grief reaction and I was on medication and counselling for six months before feeling myself again. Please remember the goid times and give yourself time xxx
To all affected by the terrible weather right now going over UK, please stay warm, dry and safe xxx
storm ciara causing chaos

i hope ye all enjoy love day
covid 19 (coronavirus) spreading everywhere fast, take care everyone
I was asked to do a coronavirus plan yesterday for the nhs service i run in case the virus spreads. I am just so worried about my husband. He is highly vulnerable after a stroke. He does not go out but he has a few different carers coming in. All go on public transport in london. I just happened to work from home today and saw that they do not follow care agency instructions.
Wash hands, stay away from anyone sick and take care all

All you can do is try to stay away from crowds, ie. self isolate yourself for 2 weeks, wash hands until they disappear and follow other guidelines as they are given .. stay safe, my friend and everone else here too xxxx
covid19 a pandemic
[QUOTE=lizann;940911]covid19 a pandemic[/QU
Please, all vulnerable folk, take care of yourselves...
no cure, vaccine or specific symptoms, frustrating and terrifying
Most of Spain under lockdown ..I am only allowed to go to a supermarket, to work (I don't), health centres and pharmacies. All bars and restaurants closed from midnight tonight for 15 days at least .... Police out patrolling and road blocks in place ... :(
As already said on S.B lizann we can be cautious ,wash hands frequently, use hand wipes when out and do not touch your face . Disinfect specs ,mobile phones before and after being out ,keep mobile phones covered when out, better still don't use it if people are around you. Make sure you have no exposed cuts or skin abrasions. Don't take risks .God speed everybody and may the wind always be at your back.
