1st day back at work after a month off and 7 people are gone (4 "let go" and 3 just went) and 1 more is leaving at the end of the month.. Mental so many gone at the same time.
One of our workers accidentally group emailed a post all about how ugly the big boss was ...he left quickly.
When working in HR I used to tell staff not to post anything negative about their work, colleagues etc on social media and also to be careful who they confided to in person, a friend one day can soon be an enemy the next ... So many were astonished when I told them they could be sacked for bad-mouthing their place of work, boss, colleagues on social media, even if their settings were on Friends Only ..
Wow .. social media wasnt about when they bined me off from work... so its fascinating to hear these things.
But todays folks as you have pointed out, dont seem to understand that what they post online can and will be used against them legally, its not like telling a mate the company sucks verbally, because even if you fall out with a mate that is just hearsay, nowadays it is in black and white.
Am loving Trumps "I miss spoke " defence for basically siding with Puttin over all his intelligence agencies:cool:
Ah, now we have entered surreal Friday where Trump invites his old mucker Putin over for tea at the White House. When told hos head of security breaks into laughter at a press conference, oh on top of that all Chinese imports are to be taxed. The mans insane.
Ok,off out to employ some witches to summon up some rain failing that I will do the rain dance meself.
Are we still enjoying the weather ladies and gentlemen? :cartman::angel::rotfl::rotfl:
Spent afternoon on Ryde beach slapping on factor one zillion, the best place was in the sea believe me even thou that was freezing ... bus was like a sauna og the dammed there and back, full of very sweaty smelly souls, so made up a new game called who stinks the worse, even if I had strapped a rotting kipper round my neck I wouldnt of won that comp.
Oh watched the naming of Red Jet 7 last night, alas couldnt close enough to the person naming it to throw eggs, I wont name her other than to say she was the third person in a marriage.
Freezing sea sounds pretty good to me at the moment Splashy. I promise never to moan about snow or frosts again. Electric fans are a help, but as soon as you cool down, turn 'em off , your bodies temperature control kicks in then you feel even hotter. :wall:
Been laughing at my sister who is currently getting drenched at Bestival, she sent me pic and she looks more than slightly damp :rotfl:
At about 11 ish last night the toaster tripped the fuse and all lights went out :( I had no fuse, no matches no torch and didnt really know where the fuse box was
Thank goodness my magnifier has a light in it, it took me ten minutes of messing about but on came the lights again.
Spoke to my new neighbour today, shame it was to ask him not to smoke two foot away from my wide open bedroom window.. He seemed to take it ok but we will see. I had to say something as I was choking on his smoke and my bedroom still stinks of it.
Too darn hot for me today, sort sanctuary in Waitroise for an hour gluggling down a free cup of brown.
Had engineers in for my TV Ariel , both lovely fellas, one sadly chatted to me about having to go to the mainland each week for the hospital as he has cancer. Hard to know what to say, but he hails from Shirley like me so we chatted on. His son lives a stones throw from my Soton flat.
Started a new job five weeks ago. It’s with the NHS. So exhausting but happy for once. My husband starting dialysis soon so i have been getting trained as his carer. At one point they said that we needed to get rid of our pet cat as it puts him at risk of infection. I am going to keep one room a cat free zone so should be ok. The consultant does not get the fact that pets are like family. I don’t know how i am going to cope with this night time dialysis 7 days a week for the rest of his life. His heart is too weak for a transplant. I have applied for a stairlift but think i will just make a bathroom/toilet downstairs.
Its Cowes week and its insane here ... had relatives over, took the river taxi to the Folly Inn last night and spent today in West Cowes watching the yacht races right by the Royal Sailing Club with the cannons starting the race. Had to chuckle coming home, the Cowes Chain Ferry has broken down again, right on the busiest week of the islands life. The queue for the replacement boat was huge when I came across... Its a shame, they paid a million quid for this thing and it just isnt fit for purpose, yesterday it wasn't working because it ran aground.
Really enjoying the cooler heat, time to start engageing my bus pass and see the rest of the island.
Cowes Firework night:cheer: ferry leaves at 8.45 :cheer:
You lucky people mid year coastal fireworks, and a few drinks, I reckon.
Some jet over head now, very loud ...
Tried to watch it from Clshot a while back, it was chuckig it down and foggy :rotfl:
All aboard the red funnel for me this time, the west cowes prom gets crazy packed

Just when I thought I could manage weight loss alone, it turns out that I can't. So I headed off to my local Slimming World. I was a nervous wreck when I walked in, I had to wait some time before the consultant started her talk about how the plan works. I have lost half a stone so far and feel better for it:cheer:
Also my Dad has been put into a care home, he's been diagnosed with Alzheimers, he's gone down hill since my Mum died back in April, they were married for over 60 years, he's lost without her which is perfectly natural. I have to travel up to Edinburgh to see him, but its worth the journey.
Ok so our office split into 2 nearly two years ago now and when the admin team left they took all the christmas decoration with them. I love christmas and I love decorating my office desk and my home. Last year I was in an office with 2 others who also love christmas so I got load of decorations for all our desks. They were cheap and tacky but did the job and we loved them.
This year I got the decoration out and ready but I came into office today to find someone had used my decorations to decorate my office. I was really annoyed as they 1st they took my fun away (oh btw I add on the time spent decorating to end of the day so I don't waste work time) and 2nd they used my decorations that I paid for and put them where they wanted them to be.
Am I right to be annoyed??
Write a letter to Santa and get that person put on the naughty list :ninja:
Nah ..its your property, your fun. Not right for them to mess with. I would have a quick trawl i the local pound shop see if there is anything christmasy in their that you can place on your desk to cheer you up.
Pyro, my aunt is in a care home, best place she can be, she is loved by us visiting her and looked after brilliantly by professionals.
Its December, it can only mean one thing, Christmastime. Last week I dusted off last years Advent Calendars, they do look pretty, also bought another Advent Candle, ( Care and fire awareness has been taken to keep it away from fire prone objects. Spent most of the weekend signing Christmas cards, I have done quite a few so far, going to post them off this week. I have also baked ( my first and I might say best) a Slimming World Christmas cake ( the recipe is on their website) result? one brilliant cake!! :cheer: 10 syns per slice. However the Christmas pudding was not so good, water got into the mixture:thumbsdow ( via the pressure cooker and the fact the bowl wasn't sealed with string properly)and it resembles a delflated flying saucer:angry: Luckily I have some spare mixture left so will attempt a second one and add some stout to it ( left it out) however this time I will put the water into the pressure cooker afterwards and then steam it!! Here's hoping for a less deflated pudding!!
Made ( another) Slimming World Christmas pudding, result PERFECT!!:cheer:
Great. Still not got into the christmas spirit but think i will do some christmas shopping this weekend. Just look forward to the time off with family.
Had a lovely evening at a flamenco show which in Spain usualy starts around 11pm which is too late for me as I have very early mornings .. 8pm to 10pm was perfect today, loved it, great performance by 2 couples, thank you Ballet of Raquel Peña! You did great :D :cheer:
