Denise shone in tonight's episode for me. Jacks got a bit of a nerve with his track record. The scene with Dennis and Phil was very good and the scenes with Stacey and Jane seem very natural. Why was Martin not keen on seeing Derek? All, in all a good episode.
I'm finding it hard to know how to feel about Lee's part in the robbery.
We've seen that he can't stand up to the bullies at work because he's a nervous wreck. The one who's wallet got left behind initially befriended him, so I'm wondering if perhaps the Vic fundraiser was mentioned during a conversation and Lee jokingly suggested they rob the place - and the rest of them then manipulated and/or browbeat him into agreeing to the robbery. It seems they promised him that nobody would be hurt or threatened, and he believed them because it was easier to do so (plus there's no doubt he badly wanted the money). I'm pretty sure though that he didn't cold-bloodedly plan the heist of his family home.
On the other hand, It was a dreadful thing to allow to happen to his family. He could have given up his job and never had to have faced the bullies again and then told Mick what they were planning. Depression makes you want to curl up into a ball and die, and also impairs your judgement, but it doesn't take away your moral compass and it doesn't turn you into a criminal (though of course desperate people are more likely to do desperate things).
I want to believe that Lee has a valid explanation of why he allowed it to happen... :(
All Lee can do now is go to the Police and fess up. Drop the others in it and hope eventually his family will forgive him.
Of course he wont, the bullies will extort more off him and simpering wife will keep spending the money in her aim for the perfect wedding.
I dont read spoilers but this can only end one way now and its christmas, Eastenders love misery story lines at Crimbo season.
Does Dennis know his dad died from being stabbed and that Phil was involved?
