BIG Brother bosses are worried that too many OLD FOGIES are watching.
The programme’s audience has matured over the years, research found — but Channel 4 wants young viewers to attract advertisers.
Ratings have tumbled for this year’s Celeb BB as teens are said to have been turned off by the older celebrities.
Ulrika Jonsson, 41, La Toya Jackson, 52, Terry Christian, 48, and Coolio, 45, are all better known among the over-25s. Numbers watching Monday night’s eviction show slumped as low as 1.2 million at one point — a third of its usual figure.
One source suggested the show’s sponsor, bed firm Dreams, was another example of the shift in the audience’s age.
The show used to be sponsored by “youth-focused” companies, such as mobile phone firms.
The source said: “Let’s face it, young people with disposable incomes don’t buy fancy beds, do they?”
Meanwhile, Ofcom said it had 328 complaints about bullying on CBB last week.
Maybe the show has run its course and is ready to be scrapped :hmm:
well is this an ageist situation?
That only young un's can provide entertainment, ohhhhhh:nono:
NO it's more to do with WHO was in the house,
one thing that may be prevented in the future is,
Mothers with kids, any mother who goes into this knows that they have to leave their kids, so it's no good thinking it will be easy to just walk
Mutya are you listening? ( and for that matter what did she entertainment did she provide??)
I for one have watched this with my daughter, we both have not once mentioned the age factor, young or old, it's simply a case of the wrong collection of people.
La Toya became the fourth celebrity to be evicted from the Big Brother house in the first of two surprise evictions tonight.
Housemates had been spending the day completing a Dare Devil Task, during which the American had shown her bravery by licking Gentleman's Relish off a mirror in the house.
The public have been voting since Monday for the housemate they want to win this year's Celebrity Big Brother. La Toya had the least votes at 6.5% and was the first to be told that she would be leaving the house tonight.
Tommy was the second celebrity to be booted out of the Big Brother house tonight in a surprise double eviction.
The Scottish politician was met by mainly boos from the crowds, prompting Davina to term the moment as "quite a painful reception".
The 44-year-old's eviction came close on the heels of La Toya's exit, leaving just Ben, Coolio, Terry, Ulrika and Verne in the running for Friday's final.
The socialist Scot had earlier revealed that he is backing Verne to win the show.
Tommy was the sixth celebrity to leave the house, following the evictions of Lucy, Tina, Michelle and La Toya. Mutya walked out voluntarily last Friday.
 Terry has never heard of Brain freeze!
