Well after a few weeks of no job opportunities, suddenly like London buses do, three come at once! :cheer: :cheer::cheer:What a surprise that was. So I now have another interview and possibly more soon, here's hoping for a better result this time, although I am not building my hopes up as was the case last time.:hmm:
I think your very brave and positive and have a real work ethic. Something will come through soon for you
what if its a woman? any ideas??
I am not sure that would work, to be honest. Preparation is the key, I think. Know what the job is about, do some research before you attend the interview. Always good to mention jobs/duties you have done that relate to that job. Eye contact is important but don´t stare at your interviewer(s). Smile a lot. Practice it with a friend or family member .. record yourself if you can .. listen to it and make changes to your replies if you feel that it would be appropriate. Remember, they know you are nervous and will make allowances ... good luck
When i have gone on presentation courses they say things like imagine that they have had an argument this morning and burnt their toast and are sitting in front of you with a hole in their sock or tights!
thank you Perdita. My employment consultants seem to think I should work in a dry cleaners or in a kitchen,:thumbsdow I have no food hygiene certificates nor do I want to work with harsh chemicals!! I will be meeting them on Wednesday, I am standing my ground!!
This is the advise I was giving when I went to job seeker meeting. I would also try an agency. They do pre-interview prep with you and they are eager for you to get the job cause it is actually their job on the line. If it helps, give us some of the questions you were asked at the interviews and we can give advise on how to answer it should it come up.
That strikes me as being very lazy on the agency's part and looks as if they are trying to palm job seekers off with anything available to get them off their books and a tick in the box for successful job allocation and another tick in the right box for the company... makes me sick
Im still having problems with my anti sad pills, Im dropping DONALDS left right and centre that could destroy the ozone layer.
Ah well Mrs May is having a worst week, having to rely on anti gayiests anti abortionists to prop up your government must make for a great laxative.
But then Corbyn wants to spend billions we dont have bribing the students to vote for him and his policy of free university places...
Sorry to hear Splashy of your continuing problems. Perhaps for the time being , maybe a price worth paying , as long as the pills are having the desired effect ? I guess if it becomes intolerable another visit to the Doc ? In which case I hope the appointments system down your neck of the woods is quicker than here.:)
As regards the election I'm always amazed as to how politicians time and time again misread the mood of the country and try to take voters for granted.
Definately need to have meds changed to something more suitable. There is always alternatives. I think my daughter had to change her anti depressants 3 times before she adjusted to one.
Thank you .... Im going to stick with these pills, if the only side effect is flunky town then Im getting off lightly, I took Seroxat ln the last century and became a walking zoombie because of it.
My thoughts go out to those who have suffered or are suffering in the Tower block fire in London.
london getting a tough going over, thinking of all the victims their friends and families
One of my friends has been helping through the night. So sad. To many tragedies lately
Mrs May couldn't of handled this worse!
Shes totally unable to project any empathy both in words an actions. Both her speeches on the matter have been delivered in a set parliamentary manor of dead eyes and unneeded head movements. IMO there is no difference from how she would address MPs about missing loo rolls in the House than her dead pan quotes of today to camera.
At least the likes of Blair would of looked sorry and sad.
I think I am actually melting.
18 inch air fan is on full whack .. thank the lord bucket head I bought it on Sunday.
Oh goodness Im missing my air con from my last flat.
There's me Splashy thinking you coastal guys benefit from all the sea breezes :) Should be getting cooler for the weekend , failing which I'm going to convert our upright freezer into a chair.
melting here too.. got up to 37 at one stage... no let up on the heat for rest of the week but it is quiet normal for here in Germany to have many weeks of temp above 27 degrees.. Poor little Irish girl in me wants to hide til it is down around 25
ATM alas Im living near Winchester, no sea breeze here.. Im tinking of buying a paddling pool from Asda and living in that.
Ah well the world could be worse Mr Trump could be in charge of the USA... oh wait..
But thats ok cause Mrs May is governing a strong and stable government in coalition with people who dont believe that dinosaurs existed.. I mean how do they explain away Corben then
I went on a coach trip to Salisbury yesterday with my diabetes group. I was sat next to an 80 year old lady going there who later went missing. A few of us spent an hour running around the town trying to find her. I feel so exhausted now as wasrunning around in the heat. Turned out she was waiting in the wrong place for 3 hours. She did not think or admit to doing anything wrong.
it was a good trip and it she was a lovely lady thanks. In my panic about being made redundant from my long term job in December i took on a third job so i am working 6.5 days a week for two months.Plus i took two exams to officially qualify for project management which i have been doing for 26 years. Its all really exciting though ....i have let go of my fear!
Thanks
My niece is performing her hula hoop act for Elton John and some royalty this evening. Not sure if she is going with the LED ones or the fire ones.
Shes seen Piper Middleton there and thinks maybe Harry also.
Now if we can get her to meet then marry Harry! :D
Just signed the contract for my next book, provisionally titled, "Cracked Eggs and Lokshen Soup". Manuscript to be with the publisher by 30 November; publication some time next year. :cheer:
Congrats parkerman
Some one needs to stop Trump all he does is make a bad situation worse. I mean he is in Poland today and the government bussed in loads of tools to chant USA USA at the egocentric tool while he did his key speech which involved attacking Russia and warnings of actions against North Korea. However hes on his way to Germany where protectors want his scrotum on a stick for leaving the Paris accord
That one way trip to Mars is sounding very appealing right now.
Great about the book
well my job hunting could not have got any worse, I have now had over 30 job refusals:wall::wall: I wish I knew what employers wanted, I do great in my interviews etc. so WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM??????
I have now decided to do volunteering for a few short months, its better than sitting at home all day.
Sorry to hear about your job hunting difficulties but your decision to do volunteering is brilliant... the organisation will be so appreciative and it will give you additional skills, which is always a good thing. Also shows prospective employers that you show initiative, another positive  :cheer: Good luck with further job interviews, you will be successful eventually :D
Decided to browse the web this morning and thought , I wonder if George Clooney is still alive, ( I used to love watching him in ER). What a shock/surprise!! to read that he lives 38 minutes away from where I live!! Sonning is a quiet village tucked away in the Thames Valley, its a wonder his house hasn't been invaded by thousand upon thousands of fans!!!
