Yes, the problem with this storyline as it is at the moment is that going cold turkey on diazepam is extremely dangerous as we have seen with Ali's fit. It is likely to get worse. He needs to have a monitored programme of withdrawal. Of course, we don't know how this is going to play out, but if Ali beats his addiction by going cold turkey, it will send out a very dangerous message to people similarly addicted.
Was that Kate's last episode? We didn't actually see her leave. Usually there's a big send off when a character's been in it for a few years.
Yes, it was ...Coronation Street said goodbye to one of fans' most favourite characters tonight (September 13), as Kate Connor departed the cobbles. :hmm: most favourite character???

Couldn't she take Michelle with her.
Ali is a doctor, can he not write prescription, he could write one for Ryan for the tablets he needs, I feel this addiction storyline has come out of no where despite him supposedly hooked since Ronan's killing, like Robert and Carla's addictions a fast recovery cure
My heart is breaking for Sinead, Daniel and Bertie
I have no interest in Gemma and her mother, I liked Gemma at the start but not anymore
I loved the scene in the corner shop with Evelyn and Sinead. Well written and perfectly played.
Thank goodness for Maureen Lipman the best thing about this show right now.
where does ali live, in the pub?
My wife received chemo in 2002 for breast cancer. It had much the same effect on her as it is having on Sinead. She said then that if the cancer ever returned (which fortunately it never did), she would not go through it again.
Beth is far more bearable recently as she does her best to stay strong and support Sinead. Their scenes last night were very moving.
I liked how Roy was trying to support Shona - he just has this lovely, fatherly way with troubled younger women without ever being sentimental. His comments about Mary were interesting - I had never thought of her like that, but yes, she does seem determined to enjoy every moment of the day.
Dev choosing canapes at the party was funny. The other bit that made me laugh out loud was Bethany when she said "Stop Fannying around". We don't normally get Fanny's in Coronation Street. Unless you count Sean.
What a dreadful party. The Bailey family have made as much impact as a wet lettuce.
why a day party over a night party?
Do the writers not know that Steve McDonald is supposed to be an adult or is it that Simon Gregson can only prance around looking gormless.
It hardly ever gets night time in the soaps now, you can see the sun still shining through the widows when anyone goes to bed.
no tim sally tracy yasmeen or rita at the party
ryan should learn don't steal from gary
Do prison's have fantastic sunbeds now, or just the one David Platt's in?
Evelyn and Roy make the perfect couple.
Powerful performances by Daniel and Peter, Corrie does abuse storylines really well.
Did Hope's tutor leave her job in Birmingham and come all the way up to Weatherfield to teach just one child? Can you actually get live-in special needs tutors or is this something Corrie have made up? Evelyn was funny though, with her "fronted adverbials". I had no idea what they were either - why not just say "adverbs"?
The abuse storyline is getting more complex than I originally thought it would be. It looks like Paul thought he was in a consensual relationship but has just realised that he was manipulated into it by an adult, which creates a very grey area in moral, if not legal, terms, sort of like Maya and Jacob in Emmerdale.
I like it the way they made Paul's story different from Bethany's grooming storyline .. I think Peter Ash is performing great as the victim ... This has made me aware of diffent ways of grooming so I think it is an important and valuable storyline to show...
hope's tutor a nutter eliminating fiz taking hope, connected to john stape
Peter Ash as Paul was very good
I cannot warm to the mother and Gemma has gone from liked to not liked anymore with me
The Max and Leanne scene was also good
Why is Leanne forever letting herself into the Platt house just as Shona is having an argument with Max? Leanne and Shona were not exactly close before???
I think Leanne can relate over her experience with Simon not being his birth mother and his bad behaviour and maybe Leanne feels guilty for keeping Nick's secret of stealing from Audrey pinning it all on David, both are with Gail's boys so have that in common also, Leanne has the timing down to perfection catching them arguing :p
gail missing is stupid she should be around
