Golden goodbye: Simon Cowell hands ex girlfriend Terri Seymour $10million
Simon Cowell gave ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour a $9.6million (£6m) 'goodbye gift' as part of their split, it has been revealed.
The X Factor supremo and his girlfriend of six years ended their relationship six weeks ago. But according to American magazine Life & Style Cowell gave Seymour $5m in cash, in addition to a $4.6m mansion in Beverly Hills as a parting gift. Terri now owns the luxury Los Angeles apartment that Cowell, who is worth £130million, bought for her when she moved out of their shared home this summer.
It features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and an impressive view.
'Simon thinks the world of Terri, and that isn't going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it,' a source told the magazine.
Seymour wanted to marry and start a family, whereas Cowell recently said: 'I don't want to marry anyone, because whoever marries me will end up hating me.'
The stunning 34-year-old TV presenter is now believed to be dating 35-year-old Hollywood actor Stephen Dorff, whom she met in September.
Cowell, who is one of TV’s highest-paid stars, has given her new love his blessing and has privately said he is delighted to be free of the relationship.
'Simon has basically been waiting for Terri to announce the relationship is over for months,' a friend revealed.

Peaches Geldof is to divorce husband Max Drummy after 96 days of marriage, reports claim.
Geldof married the American musician in August after a one-month romance. She has since admitted that the union is unlikely to last.
"Peaches is going to divorce Max. She woke up to realise the marriage was a huge mistake and that Max is not the man of her dreams," a source told the News Of The World.
"She doesn’t fancy him any more, and wants to move on. To her it is as simple as that. She just wants to divorce him and find a new boyfriend."
The source also claimed that Max is "heartbroken" by the news and genuinely believed the marriage was long-term, while Peaches's dad Bob Geldof is said to delighted with her decision.
Kind of was to be expected, if true. She did not expect it to last anyway.

Jackson gives up Neverland ranch
Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch has changed ownership, according to legal papers.
The new keeper of the sprawling estate, which includes an amusement park and zoo, is Sycamore Valley Ranch Co. LLC, a joint venture between Jackson and an affiliate of Colony Capital LLC.
Colony bought out the singer's £12 million ($23.5 million) debt on the property in May to ensure that it remained in his hands. That deal came after the popstar was told the ranch would be foreclosed and sold at auction after he ran into arrears.
Jackson's financial problems since his arrest in 2003 on child molestation charges and subsequent acquittal have meant that he has not lived at the 2,500-acre property for nearly five years.
The fate of Neverland, which lies 120 miles north west of Los Angeles, remains unknown. The singer named the ranch after the mythical childhood land in Peter Pan, once saying: "It's like stepping into Oz. Once you come in the gates, the outside world does not exist."
