I didn't know that the Police concerned themselves with common assault.
So why didn't The Yorkshire Vet fork out for a bit of compo for daft Matty.

matty is as much at fault as marlon, moira too pushy
Matty still seems remarkably chipper for someone who has suffered partial thickness burns to his hands. He seems to have no pain even though his hands are bandaged up like a boxers. Who on earth would pour lighter fuel on a fire that was already burning, you only do that to get the fire started, apart from anything else it taints the food. The way it was filmed it was a monentary flare up, his hands were not in prolonged contact with the flames. In real life I doubt he would have suffered no more than singed eyebrows. While over in Walford Phil survives a house fire without so much as a blister and his face did not even seem any more red than usual
I wonder if Moira has been as thorough in her own attention to Health and Safety on the farm, which is a much more dangerous place than a bar-g-que.
Chastity is suppose to be experienced in running a pub and yet she waits until the booze stock has almost runs out before getting more in. Then Charity just happens to have a supply of knock-off booze to help out.
If Marlon has any sense he will sell his share of the pub to Al as soon as possible, before it turns him completely insane.
I suppose Brenda could counter by saying that Rhona had grabbed Cathy, so she was coming to Kathy's defense, and that Rhona was the aggressor. Mind you I don't have any any sympathy for Brenda, she is an interfering busybody and a gossip.
I wonder if this is going to lead to a break-up between Marlon and Rhona, just to heap more misery on idiotic chef. If he has to move back to his own house with April where will his tennants go. Good example of the "Butterfly's Wings in the Chaos Theory.
Rhona never pushed Brenda .. she turned round with her arm up because Brenda was holding her from behind .. or did I see something wrong??
You saw nothing wrong, it was just a bit of a tussle which would have best been forgotten. An elbow strike to the head or ribs, is one of the defences taught to being grabbed from behind. Rhona grabbed hold of Cathy which in law can be seen as an assault. Brenda overreacted by rushing in and grabbing Rhona. Rhona struck Brenda on the side of the head while turning causing Brenda to fall. It was a cross between a strike, a push and a throw. Rhona did not hit Brenda hard or fast enough for this to be called a strike, so technically it was a push with her elbow and upper arm helped by the turning motion of her body that caused Brenda to fall. Ideally the incident should have been forgotten, in a small village like Emmerdale the police should have had words with both of them and told them to shake hands and behave themselves. But Brenda being Brenda had to call the police. - All in the name of drama.
Can Cathy get charged, was a new law introduced about on line bullying? Bob said Cathy was cautioned
