I echo Dazzle's advice swmc66 - take some time out to look after yourself (& I really hope your husband is doing well after his heart operation!).

So sorry to hear of your nasty fall Perdita. I hope you are ok & the ice & painkillers help. I don't like the sound of the possible cheekbone fracture - it might be advisable to see the doctor about that regardless, especially if it is higher on your cheek, up towards your eye socket!
This time last year, my wife tripped while getting onto the train at Central Sydney & her leg went down between the platform & the train. Luckily our daughter was with her & the people around her also came to her aid. She had a really nasty gash on her shin & the station medical guy couldn't stop the bleeding, so the paramedics were called to cart her off to hospital. She was mortified at all the fuss. She ended up with about 8 stitches (& had complications later which went on for about 6 mths - but that is another story!!) - but the main thing is, while the gash was the main problem, at the hospital they also took x-rays as they thought she may have broken her leg. Luckily that wasn't the case. So it might be a good idea if you get your cheekbone looked at Perdita, just in case.
Look after yourself & I hope you are feeling better.
I am fine, just in discomfort and bruised cheek and big scab on my nose ... luckily I had new passport photos done a couple of days ago, otherwise I would have had to wait a couple of weeks ... :p Thank you all for your kind words, all making me feel so much better :)
*sending huge cyber hugs to all of you above*
But I have to say, my horse lost in the gold cup today and Im down 50 pence, I think thats more important :cartman::ninja::moonie:
After waiting for what feels like forever I finally had word from my local record store that my dvds were ready for collection:cheer:. I was delighted to get them, the complete series of Hetty Wainthropp investigates, and Cannon and Ball series 1-7. My Saturday nights will now be filled with laughter and quite possibly tears rolling down my face at the many sketches they did.:rotfl:I grew up with variety shows on tv, Tommy and Bobby being my favourites. Going to spend an hour at the library doing my ancestry project and a week on Tuesday a genealogist is coming to the library and I have a half hour appointment to try and unravel my Dad's side!!! which so far seems to be heading nowhere fast!!! Let's hope I have some success soon!!!
If you are interested you can get the dvds from Amazon but they usually are used or not in good condition, however there is another website that specialises in tv shows etc which is called network.com. My local record shop ordered them from this site.
Note to self.. avoid at all costs a Sat night in with Pyro :ninja::moonie::angel:
Ah for me my star trek obsession continues, watching next gen as we speak  But it also may explain why I have no friends.
For me genealogy is a sore point, I hate the royals and all they stand for but a cousin proved that we Splashys have a tenuous link to the blood line that rules, its almost as bad as being related to one of the Kadachians.:wall:
I hope everyone is feeling better both physically and mentally, I hurt my back recently and feel I am taking too many painkillers so am trying to get myself to cut down and off them
The cheques in the post :moonie::angel::lol:
Wow, the new female version remake of Ghost Busters really sucks and blows at the same time .. phew .. I pity the fools that went to the cinema and had to watch that load of guff:rotfl:
What made it worse was the cameo roles made/ played by the original actors, are they that short of money?
Also, the remake of Robocop... wow does that suck, I mean how do you make a half man robot violent movie make you want to sleep, well that director achieved it.
I saw the female ghostbusters and enjoyed it. I liked the cameos and references to the first film. Its a film that i went to to just have a laugh.
thank you splashy!!! I ( I know you don't mean it) am only interested in what my ancestors did for a living and where they lived, on my Grandmother's side they came from Lancashire ( I were born up north, but moved to the Cheshire area later on) a lot of them worked either in domestic service or as labourers in cotton mills or on farms,
bring back the original, oh so much better!!!
Went to see a friend after work and left my ipad there. Had to borrow something from my daughter but it was difficult to use and i kept annoying her and then gave up. i did'nt realise how addicted i was to using it. Hopefully i will get it back by 6.
Back in the day - and I'm talking late 60s/early 70s - one of my favourite singers was Al Stewart. I had all his records and saw him in concert and at folk clubs many times. I still play his early stuff quite a lot today.
Over the last ten years or maybe even more, Al, who now lives in America, has toured over here on a fairly regular basis but he always does his newer songs and has not done his old songs for a long time. This year he is over here again in April and May with a tour called "Back to the Bedsit", which I can only assume means he is returning to his original songs as his first album was called "Bedsitter Images".
What this is all leading to is that, quite out of the blue this morning, his promoter offered me two complimentary tickets to his concert at the London Palladium on 12 May. As it happens, that is just one week before a significant birthday for me. What a present!
How lucky is that! Now i am going on youtube to see if i can hear his song.
i will try that next as i just listened to Year of the Cat
i like Swiss Cottage Manoeuveres and Bedsitter images best. Thanks I would never have ever listened or known of him.
P Man my birthday is May 17th .. we are both Taurus the bull then (I may just be dropping a huge hint so me and Mt P get some prressies :ninja:)
Rough day in Splashy land, still having major breathing problems and every step I take with Quack leads to another wait for a test then another wait to see her again for the results of the test and on and on we go.... all the while land lady just thinks I can walk it off, take more exercise blah blah blah.. very frustrating....
Today I have mainly been moaning.
He shares the same birthday as my son.
Oh yeah ... I was supposed to go for a meal today with the family, despite me explaining in detail to land lady my issues she went and told them I was having panic attacks not breathing issues :wall: I love her to bits but sis if she deceides something that must be the case... case in point to this day she will not have a bar of the fact there are rechargeable batteries in those solar garden light ornaments, no they are just ordinary batteries she insists... hit her with the logic that any batterie that is being recharged by a solar panel must be a rechargeable one and you just get an infatic no. :rotfl:
swm and that date IS
I loved the Take that bit on Nose day... well TBH I just watched on Youtube and ignored the Beeb last night, I sent them some monies so didnt see the point of watching loads of desperados pushing their new stuff and careers in the name of charity mate.
Today I am mostly wishing I was taller so I could get further away from my smelly feet.
19th May he will be 18
My son is going to fly to Glasgow to check out the University tomorrow. Him and his mates are going. They booked it all including the hotel themselves. I hope he does not like it too much as the city is too far from London. His first choice is Nottingham.
He would have to pay.
Got a letter this week from my local college inviting me for an interview for a course I am keen to do, hope that it won't cost too much to study. Also can someone help me with the emojis, I had a tweet from a follower today who liked a tweet I was mentioned in, at the end of their message the confused emoji was at the end, I am a bit upset by this as it has never happend before.
thank you Perdita for your kind words, I am trying not to let the emojii get to me, anyway I much prefer the ones we have on soapboards:cheer::clap::thumbsup:
Went to pick up my son and his friends from Stanstead Airport . Was there 10.00pk and his Glasgow flight got diverted to Luton Airport. I have been waiting for hours then he said go home. I even said i would drive to Luton but him and friends said no. Some protest on runway about deportations . Eight people caused flights to be diverted as far as Birmingham. I worked late at work up until 9 as i thought it would be easier to get to stansted nearer the time. I wish i had not worked late now as shattered. Now cannot sleep as worried about him and his friends. My husband is awake and told me to sleep. Slim chance of that.
I hope you managed some sleep and that your son and friends made their way home ok
He got home at 2am. Him and his friend shared a cab with 2 other people who lived in Walthamstow. It cost them a tenner each. Not bad. It cost me more in parking in stanstead!£25 iBut at least he is home safe.
Oh swnc66 it must have been awful for you. Good thing they are safe now.
sounds like sum on here have been having fun. :ninja: seriously Im glad it worked out.
Sent off my application to go on c4s 15 to 1 today, I know I would crash out in round one but its an aspiration to do it for me and make a comlete tit of myself :rotfl::rotfl: yes Im a bit weird like that
