Good idea Glen, I too was frightened about stalkers on twitter, which is why I don't bother with it now.
I'm very sorry to hear that Perdita and swmc66 have also had the very scary and unpleasant experience of being stalked. :(
I got home early from work and was so exhausted tried to sleep for an hour. But got woken up by a few international calls by my husbands siblings. He is having a heart operation on Tuesday so one of his brothers is coming over today and will land at Healthrow at 5pm . At 5pm they started to ring the landline then my mobile then the landline then my mobile until i got up. They wanted to know if he has got to our house in East London yet. I forgot how they could be like. They are lovely people but ring all the time . When he had a heart attcak i had to deal with their 10 calls a day and be at the hospital twice a day and look after my family plus my elderly mum and hold down two jobs. Whereas they do a few hours at work....that is the men and have maids, cooks and chauffeaurs etc to do the rest of the work for them. I was trying to get rest before he came but no chance now. They have all the time in the world to be on the phone. I have a work deadline as well and this is all bad timing for me. I will have an extra person to look after after a few hours. I cannot cope right now
Re Stalkers ... I have attracted a few, weirdest was a lady who I met on a skiiing holiday, she was just part of a group who we hung out with at night, I didnt even know her name and certainly didnt hook up with her. Next I know shes working in my office having moved from goodness knows where to do it! Coincidence! Nope she made it very clear what she wanted.. Look I cant help being so dam sexy :cartman::rotfl:
Wow, I have a lot of lettings agents baying for my blood ATM :crying:
I picked one to go with and its now on the net, the very instant it did those agents I didnt pick have been hounding me, why didnt you pick us, that company is rubbish they house theives and criminals etc etc etc Made me feel like a naughty school bot :crying: but then I remembered I liked being naughty school boy :ninja:
To me the place is just money better saved in bricks and mortar than in a bank with low interest and if anyone had seen the state of place 11 months ago they wouldnt touch it
wow Im still mr glum.. sorry
Took the bus to Chabdlers of Ford to go to Waitrose, which was closed for refurbishment :thumbsdow found another smaller unsuper market place instead, but missed my return bus as it took longer.. :crying: no matter I was in no rush so waited nearly an hour for the next one , just ickle me on my own with my white stick sat on the bench, then five minutes till it came a hoard of oaps rocked up. did they let me on first the guy who had been their first and had a white stick,, hell no .. ::nono::lol::lol: they even sat in the seats designated for the partialy sighted :cartman: But it was all very ironic as I was the only one that paid cash money for the trip they all had their free bus pases.
Had my first viewing of my flat.. got the feed back that he didnt like my kitchen:wall: its a small one bedroom flat with a tiny kitchen, its a brand new fitted kitchen thou not a baby belling shoved on top an old fridge.. What did the guy expect central counter where his five kids could sup of a night? I suppose you could find that for the price but I wouldnt like to Live on a council estate near Portsmouth
My flat sits opposite Macdonalds and Tesco direct on the main bus route with a pub 2 moments walk away.. what more does a hard working profesional need
Splashy, your flat sounds perfect to me .. if I ever want to move back, I shall contact you, if that is ok http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smile...ign-317753.gif
Sorry about the other passengers ignoring you getting on the bus first and sitting on seats where they should not ... I thought that even most young folk have been raised with better manners than that :(
I remember when i was very heavily pregnant a guy raced to a seat to stop me getting it on the tube. I used to travel one and half hours to work on the tube. Not many people give their seat up in London. It was a difficult pregnancy and i nearly lost my baby at one point. The next time i got pregnant i left that job and took another job nearer home losing all my maternity rights just so i did'nt have to stand on a tube for ages.
I hope the operation went well and that you're feeling a bit better now, swmc66. http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smile...hug-774146.gif
Yes it went well thank you. I am feeling much better as well .
Nah I like you Perd, Id never make you live in that hell hole :ninja::rotfl: Us Hampshire Hogs need to stick together. ... Ive heard the term for us lots but didnt realise it was based on wild Boar hunting in the new forest by kings..
Believe me I was the youngest passenger on that bus and Im no spring chicken :cartman: The rest round here have gold plated eco cars or helicopters to get about in.
Oh the tube, you always kind of associate the Tube with being underground but much of the outskirts are just normal train tracks and like you say Swm can be a long commute into central London normally with your nose stuck in someone elses armpit or worse.
Went into town this morning to find out if my DVDs were in, the chap in the music shop was very helpful and is going to chase up my order. On the way back I decided to take a walk through one of the parks, up on one of the banks rows of daffodils were swaying in the breeze, birdsong was in full force, collard doves and wood pigeons. As I approached the small walkway leading to the main road a pair of black and white cats were chasing each other ( it turns out they are brother and sister), they paused for a while and slowly walked toward me, softie as I am with animals I just had to stroke them, ( cue the purrs). After 5 minutes I had to go.
Now its lunchtime and afterwards I am having a clearout, most will go to charity, the rest? in the bin!!! ( providing I sort it out correctly).
Thank you perdita:cheer:
Can I suggest that anything that you deem not fit for charity, but that might still be of use to someone, be offered for free on Freegle, Freecycle or Gumtree? It's amazing what people will take free of charge! Since I discovered these websites I've barely had to throw anything out (that wasn't actual rubbish). Even most of my broken and/or filthy items (that had been stored in my garden shed for years) were taken during a huge clearout I had when I moved house last year.
Items can also be requested - which is great for people who are short of money (I've requested and received two items so far).
I volunteer as a moderator on Freegle (which is a registered charity that exists to keep usable items out of landfill and so help the planet a little). :)

Great idea Dazzle!!!:cheer: thank you!!!
17°C sounds like heaven compared to our 11°C. :p
Do you have something like Gumtree or Craigslist in your area? They often have a freebies section, or you could just advertise things in the most appropriate section with a zero price tag. I've even seen things listed on eBay with prices set at £0.01 (presumably eBay don't allow members to list things completely free).
I often like to browse the free/low priced items going in my area and have picked up some interesting bargains for my new home that way. :)
An injured cat comes into my garden daily. Half its neck has be damaged and fur hanging off. It have reported it to both RSPCA and Celia Hammond Rescue but they are too busy right now. So i have been feeding it and its getting closer and closer and waits for me in the morning. As i have been feeding the cat i have ended up with the whole neighbourhoods cats.
I know they say you should not feed them but how can i not when i am feeding the one i want to catch. I did'nt realise there are so many cats without homes its really sad. If i was on my own i would take another couple in easily. I have had my own cat for 6 months. Its been a nice addition to the family. I can sit in meetings and all i think about is my cat. How mad is that!
I think it's very sane! http://www.city-data.com/forum/pictu...?dl=1280434485
You're doing a very good thing by feeding and trying to catch the poor injured cat. I'd be surprised if every single one of the other cats who are eating your food are strays. Even well-fed cats will often eat food if it's on offer. It's so tragic that there are so many strays though. :(
When you've caught the cat you're after, if you decide to stop putting food out I'd reduce it gradually rather than stop it suddenly.
I am a member on a local FB page where I can sell/buy/exchange things and the good thing is that meetings can be arranged to view items and therefore you don´t pay postage which is horrendously expensive here in Spain. There are also weekly markets where people have stalls so again avoiding postage :)
I think 3 are strays thats including injured cat and 2 have homes and i tend to give them just treats. The ones i think are strays look very uncared for and have scratches etc. Plus very hungry. My friend has found a lady who can help trap the cat. Having said that she looks like she is improving daily. She loves this area and think she would not like to leave it. I think i will always put a bit of food out for the cats.
That is very kind of you, cats will find shelter but food is not so easy for them. I get so very upset when I see stray cats and dogs, so many here get dumped and the shelters are overfilled ... breaks my heart.
I can totally understand why people set up rescue centres and give so much of their time and why people leave money to such charities now.
Won a few games of monopoly cards today for once, Land lady is normally a killer at the game being taught well by the evil genius 9 year old she baby sits.. but I lucked in for once.....
Made the ice cream parlour on our third attempt for a beloved one as a birthday treat.. it was worth the wait and the build up .
Beginning to hate my Gear Fit 2 wrist watch, its like having a nark on your arm telling everyone your a lazy ...... :crying:
Have my niece over to stay with me a few days so been absent from here. Sorry if I missed anything or if was needed.
I am so exhausted that i fell asleep in the Dentist waiting room today. They called me three times and in the end had to shake me to wake me up. On Sunday i crawled up the stairs to sleep as I had visitors for about 12 hours none stop. They all came to see my husband who had the heart op. This weekend i am going to go to my office and work and it will be more restful than being at home. they are not letting him rest and he feels he cannot turn them away and will not let me turn them away either. So i will leave them to it. At least the weather is nice for a change
I am in absolute agony, tripped over a kerbstone, hit my right side of the face, blood from mouth, blood from bridge of nose and not sure if I have fractured my right cheekbone... wanted to have a St Paddy´s celebration later .. think I will give that a miss ...hopefully painkiller and ice pack will prevent me looking like a battered woman tomorrow :(
Oh no that is awful you must get that seen. I collapsed once and my nose got damaged not that you would notice but if it got hit again i would not be so lucky. Got that after fainting after having a very hot baked potato in Teeside Airport. Noone noticed i had fainted and kept on eating.
Omg swmc, that is terrible, surely somebody must have seen you go down when you fainted!!??!!"?
I had 4 coppers around me, one female is my neighbour and she had 3 male colleagues .. never felt more embarrassed .. if I feel any different to just being in pain I shall seek medical help but so far, I am sure I will be fine ..
I hope you'll be ok after your nasty fall and that the painkillers give you some respite, Perdita. :)
