i thought that was the best one out of the ones we had to read lol! still boring but better than the rest! although i was annoyed cos some of the other classes got to watch the film and we didnt!
i really liked that book too, its the one where the little boy gets sexually abused isnt it? i think she always handles the topics in her books well. i can never guess the endings though!Quote:
Perfect match is a brilliant book so far. Tricky topic but I think Jodi deals with it really well. I like how she does the perspective from all angles too.
we had to do romeo and juliet, pride and prejudice, of mice and men, hobsons choice and some poems by people who ive forgotten lol (2 of them were blake and wordsworth, cant remember the other 2). i dont like shakespeare cos i dont understand it lol but i think romeo and juliet was the best one to do cos at least i understand the storyline in that one and we got to watch the film! pride and prejudice i gave up reading, it was too long and boring so i watched the film instead (which was only slightly less boring than the book!) still managed to get an A for that bit of cw though! hobsons choice i think was the most boring play ive ever read!
Im now reading, A piece of Cake, By Cupcake Brown
You just cant believe some of things she has been through!
Just an update. The book is excellent except for the parts when the mother (Laura) is in therapy. All she talks about is an imaginary person who she's been seeing since she was 7 (now in her 40s). It really is boring, reminds me of the Lord of the Rings kinda fantasy. Also included are stories that Laura wrote when she was in school (even more boring). I'm just skipping everything about Laura.
I've finished reading Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult - quite good but not her best.
I've also read Chart Throb by Ben Elton - really funny, basically taking the mickey out of xfactor :p
On hols I read quite a bit, the Cecelia Aherne's new one "Thanks for the memories" - really a good one, enjoyed it as much as PS I love you (didn't like any of her other ones) and Marian Keyes "This Charming Man" - a great book, couldn't put it down.
I got into the Hannibal Lecter series.... had already read Silence of the Lambs and now reading Hannibal rising, followed by red dragon and then Hannibal.. really interesting stuff
Currently reading The Remains of The Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's rather boring to start with, quite tedious.. but then it gets really good and I love the chemistry between the two main characters.
I'm reading PS I love you by Cecelia Ahern. It seems a lot of people on here have already read it. I'm really enjoying it at the moment.
I've been reading heat magazine. :D
I've started reading Second Glance by guess who....Jodi Picoult  I got it for Sainsbury's for £4 instead of £7 at Waterstones :D Anyway, it's ok so far...she keeps going on about ghosts it's a bit random :p

i read the unpublished chapter on her site - its good
Ooo, Im trying to stay away from her website. Ive spoke to loads of people who read Eclipse like ages ago and Ive been good with not spoiling myself :D
it is sad, in parts you will be crying with laughter
thanks for the memories is also good, but it takes a while to get in to, unlike PS, where is was hooked on page 1
woman has bad accident and had a blood transfusion and gets some memories from the donor............................................. .hang on
thanks for the memories - blurb

I have 'Where Rainbows End' lined up next already. I think I'll end up reading all of the books that are featured on the inside covers. I have some of Wendy Holden's books to read too; I read 'School For Husbands' a couple of years ago and loved it.
do you want my copy? if so send me you address in a private message and i'll post it tomorrow
finished reading "mercy" by jodi picoult now, it was quite good, the court case in this one was simpler than in some of her other books i thought. its one of her better books i think although not her best
im now going to read "where rainbows end" by cecelia ahern as i got it from the library ages ago and i kept renewing it so i wanna read it before i go back to uni lol!
ooooo is it out in paperback now? [/QUOTE]
Yeah it is :D
:cheer: Eclipse came in the post today :D So im reading that :D
I've not got the money to get the last book of the Girl, la de da series... so I'm just reading my lit book.
A Handmaids Tale. I ahven't started it yet because I didn't have the book but I';ve lent it from my teacher for the time being, but from the sounds of it... it's quite dodgy!!
im not that quick lol my sis could have read the book in a day! i finished it last night, i wasnt planning to but i only had about 50pgs left and i wanted to know how it ended! it was a really really good book, funny in places, sad in places, i think the way it was done in letter form between the characters instead of being written like a normal book made you more involved with the characters and the story. cant believe it spanned a 45/50yr period though! and im so glad about the ending, id have been so annoyed if it hadnt ended like that lol! (trying not to give too much away if people havent read it!)
im gonna start reading "marley and me" by john grogan now, as my mum has been nagging me to read it for ages as she wants to lend it to someone once ive read it!
