I think it pretty much is a definate that it is alex that dies, in the radiotimes for 03 Jan it has a list of the cast and has a character Cindy (she isnt one of the new four) played by hayley Taylor Jones and only has a few appearances, she also happens to be an actress from liverpool...possibly alex's aunt or sister?
Definitely Alex was at the trial :) he gets messed up, it's sad because he was being nice to Cameron : (
